straight basura.
Eh, only ever needed 1 heavy damage dealer and that's usually Ryuji since physical is more reliable.
Lol at DY's reactions.
Keep it up
And endgame Ann's a beast. Concentration is a life changer (......pun not intended)
Shidos Boss Music tho

breh end game ana is dumb and stupid
got both the fire boost skills and the fire amp accessory, concentration, and on the tail end of a baton toss she is putting people in the dirt
i liked ryuji for a while, but his fall off is real. phys damage is just too easy to come by (and thank god i managed to get the social link where i can switch any party member on their turn maxed on the last day). what really screws ryuji right now is that i don't have a *batontoss bonus phys skill for him.

What that final party like tho?
Ryuji was just good enough for the endgame party. But he did trade spaces with Haru/Yusuke from time to time.
Makoto was the healer/nuker/buffer tho

got wiped lol. surrounded, critted, pwned
life comes at you fast
makoto is probably my only real constant.
ann just made the team, gotta work her in now.
i guess yusuke is my third? i like haru but psy damage is SO fucking niche. if i didn't have her gun skills on wtf i'd probably never use her

Always rolled with Makoto and Ryuji
Morgana/Ann/Yusuke for that last spot. Morgana on most boss fights since I liked having Salvation/Samarecarm handy

I started this up the other night. It's.... interesting. Full disclosure: I've never played a Persona game before. It also feels like peak jRPG but it's got so much style and flair to it that I want to keep playing it despite how slow the beginning is. I'm roughly 3 hours in, but those 3 hours felt like a chore. I'm hoping it starts opening up after I got through the first Palace story points.
I beat Tales of Berseria on Monday night, so yeah. I won't go back to FFXV, however, so take that as you will.
By reilo Go To PostWait. What happens if I don't complete my mission by the date? Complete starting over of the game??you've always got more than enough time to complete a mission, but multiple saves are the way to go regardless
By reilo Go To PostWait. What happens if I don't complete my mission by the date? Complete starting over of the game??It starts you over some number of days before the date, iirc. I don't remember whether that number is one or like three or something. It's low, though.
I guess having 80% health isn't a guarantee that Joker won't get 1 hit killed by normal ass enemies of the same level, smh
By reilo Go To PostI guess having 80% health isn't a guarantee that Joker won't get 1 hit killed by normal ass enemies of the same level, smhoh you gonna learn lmao
ain't no defense bih. just die
You can't even grind levels in this game because you never know when the enemy four levels below you will activate their super like i was playing Destiny. Ugh.
If you ain't going first and then parlaying it into that party attack thing, you doing it wrong. If you don't have the elemental weakness, cast some speed and critical hit buffs and pray.
I've been doing that. The problem is that I needed to beat a higher level enemy to get a key, which I got down to less than 10% of his health on my first turn. But he double-tapped Joker with a 140HP combo and because this jRPG is one of the dumb ones that likes to punish you for the main dying, that was all she wrote.

I think you underestimate that I am still trying to clear the first Palace. I'm sure a lot of that will come into play later, this is just some early shenanigans.

Or was this a random move outside of that telegraphed one?
Just a random move and it was a double-tap. I thought I was safe because I had 80-90% health, but, welp. The random knights on horseback sometimes hit you for a Critical that will also kill you if you're not careful.
1 hit kills this early... wtf am I in for?

The last palace having a boss marathon at the end is the only place where it really gets difficult again.

it doesn't get easier, you just play safer and remember that you can get dropped for basically only the same few reasons for the entirety of the game
so i'm P5R. first persona game. just got Ann (what an outfit lol) added to the crew and stopped there for the night
how much do i need to be concerned about getting the relationship links and leveling up/collecting persona
and do i need to Direct Commands? Morgana came in w/ Act Freely so I've left that alone.

You should level up all of your social links. The higher your social link is in a particular category, the more your Persona will level up when you create them.
^that
and also, get used to using direct commands now because the AI should never be trusted under any circumstance

By Cleff Go To PostYou should level up all of your social links. The higher your social link is in a particular category, the more your Persona will level up when you create them.not only that but your party will gain OP tactical moves like curing ailments and surviving death blows etc (and later even swapping party members on the fly). Don't obsess over it though, you could max most of them out in no time, especially in P5R. Google the most important Confidants to level up first, if you want.
Collecting Personas is essential. Think of it like Pokemon, where you might encounter a tough enemy/boss that requires a certain element or even buff/debuff to survive their blows. The ones that null/void [insert element/phys] are life savers. And always fuse, don't get too attached to them lmao (except for Shiki-Ouji, you keep that broken ass cunt till he dies of old age)
you'll get the hang of it, they do a great job of explaining everything and easing you in so no worries.
and you always direct command what the hell
beat the first palace the other day w/ a good amount of time to spare. curious where the story goes from here in the remaining time and so on.
i quite like how the gameplay seems to be broken up with a couple hours of anime protag bullshit, and then a couple hours of fighting. good rhythm going on there to keep it fresh.
should i always be trying to negotiate and acquire persona, even of a type i already have. or can i just kill them all and keep it moving.

Just a waste of time unless you really need some cash or gonna fuse a shitload of persona.
