Hi, I know we already have some threads about music recommendations but I think it would be great in this time and age of wanting everything to be brief to have a thread where each user can share ONE SONG per month. That way it would be easier to other users to actually listen to the recommendations and for everyone to discover new music in a quick way.
I think it would be nice to specify the genre(s) of the song, so if someone is not interested at all in hip-hop –for example– they can skip that song. And try not to change your mind about the song, think carefully what to share each month :)

Song: Metal and Dust
Artist: London Grammar
Genre: Hard to pin this down, indie pop/dream pop I guess...
Put the live version because it's better, wish they'd do a studio version of it tbh. The best live version got copyright taken down though =/.
By reilo Go To PostI'm horny now
Song: Safe and Sound
Artist: Justice
Genre: House/Electro-rock
I really do not know the genre, maybe experimental indie rock/math rock. But Zach Hill (death grips, hella) is the drummer if that helps.
Hard to pick 1 song, I guess I'll just post what's on atm
Song: Tell Me A Tale
Artist: Michael Kiwanuka
Genre: Soul

I have been listening to this a lot recently, gosh I love Justice.
Artist: DJ Khaled ft. Nas
Song: Nas Album Done
Album: Major Key
Been out for a little bit now, but I can't stop listening to it. Gets me so hyped for Nas' new album, cause apparently it's done.
Artist: Beck
Song: Wow
Genre: Trip-hop
The way Beck manages to stay fresh and vital after so many years is amazing. I credit him (and Odelay in particular) with getting me into more experimental music.
Artist: Aesop Rock
Song: Lazy Eye
Genre: Hip-Hop
While not the best song on his new album, I always find the idea of a live music video to be interesting, and Aesop's fantastic live skills make a good pair.
By Apollo Go To PostWould it be better to post a song once a week?I wanna say yea, this might be better. Once a month feels too long and too easy to forget about.
Artist: Cymbals Eat Guitars
Song: Aerobed
Genre: Alt-Rock (acoustic track)
Song is not very indicative of their typical song, but it's still good, it's about their bassist who passed and it's sad and I like it.
Artist: Cloud Nothings
Song: "I'm Not Part of Me"
Genre: Punk?
This is the standout track from the band's last record, 2014's Here and Nowhere Else. Present are all the hallmarks of a Cloud Nothings cut: the noisy, distorted guitars, the kinetic drumming, but with this they finally harnessed that energy and made it hooky, catchy, almost pop.
By Moris Go To PostArtist: Cymbals Eat GuitarsYo, I discovered this band through Spotify and I can back you up on this and say they're rad.

By reilo Go To PostElchele pls, let's do a song per week.No. This is my thread, please understand
I want to be able to listen to everyone's recommendations –except for Yurt's–, so this is the only way, otherwise the thread gets flooded with posts and nobody got the time to listen to all that shit.
I'm still halfway to listen to everything posted.
Song: Hal
Artist: Banana Gun
Genre: Indie?
Local AZ band, they've got some good stuff. Also some good recommendations in this thread, thaaaaanks

This one doesn't seem to work. I disliked that.
One song per month is too little for the relatively small userbase we have. And that's my input for this thread.

I doubt many people have the time to listen to around 100 songs each week, or the will/desire to. At least I don't.
You could have shared a song, instead of adding nothing to the thread Randy m8.
Reilo keeps bringing the funky and I did it lol. I really dig house though so ...
I dug the song Elchele posted too. I love acoustic.
Micheal Kiwanuka is rad. I have that album. Phantogram was rad. I thought The Ladies was too technical. I dig syncopated beats and random time signatures usually too, but it felt like the drums were the center and everything else just kinda was background. I dunno. Jose James was really good as well.
Anyone listen to anything heavier and more on the metal side?
Artist: Porcupine Tree
Song: I drive the hearse
Genre: Prog Rock

I would also suggest upping the amount to once a week. I get what Elchele is going for, but there's just not enough traffic
