Why does anything pertaining to gaming have to exponentially more expensive than literally any other form of media?
The cost of the subscription is $20 per month, or $45 per quarter, both of which grant unlimited access to the full library of PlayStation 3 games.
Presently, PlayStation Now users can only rent individual games, paying as much as $5 for four hours of access to titles such as Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Ninety-day subscriptions to individual games, meanwhile, can cost as much as $30.

I might be willing to pay $10/month, but even that's stretching it.
Even better than that would be including it with your Playstation Plus subscription.
Until one of those things happens I'm just keeping my PS3 around if I feel the urge to play an older game.

By VlatkoThat seems like a lot for the ability to play old games...
It is. How many old games are people gonna play? Say you want to play 5 old games a year, maybe even 10. Chances are you can buy each of those for no more than $20, usually less. So, where's the value?

There is no value, it's just the usual markup pricing that occurs with video games.
A lot of old games aren't even worth the $20-30 price that GameStop charges them at. Hell, at lot of games aren't worth the $40-60 price that new games are released at, if we're talking value. There are only two or so franchises that should be priced at $60 or more: Elder Scrolls & GTA.
There's not even a physical format adding to the cost, like there is with a Blu-Ray disc. It's just streaming data. But publishers and console manufacturers are just too used to charging people nonsense prices for shit that a PC can do for way cheaper.
i would pay $20 in a heartbeat but this will be $40+ here.
it's instant, urge to play a game, click, got it. very convenient. would be nice for $20 but that's not going to happen.
