Best home audio speakers

Hey guys, I need to get some speakers for the house to play some music for Christmas and I was wondering if you all had any recommendations.
It needs to interface with an iPhone or Laptop, so some kind of wifi compatibility is needed I guess.
I prefer sound quality to any other gimmicks.

My brother has one of these, and so do my parents.
They're pretty impressive for the size, and the interface is incredibly simple. would take you no more than 5 minutes to figure out at worst.
Downside? it's bose, so you're over paying for the quality because of the brand name. But it does work well. Even my parents can figure it out and switch between different phones for it.
Is that what you were after, or a more comprehensive hifi type setup ?

We use Sonos at work and they work pretty well. You can integrate it with Pandora, Spotify, Rdio and others. The app basically lets people be a DJ and curate music via their desktop or iOS app. You can also hook up multiple Sonos speakers throughout the house and control them as one unit or individually, which is great for a party setup.

Thanks guys! Really appreciate the responses, I went to an audio and home theater store and checked out the Sonos and I was cool with the sound quality for the price point. I like that it interfaces with Spotify, and seems to have a nice balance of high's, mids and lows.
Probably going to get the Play 5. It's 400, but my buddy works at Best Buy and said he'll get the employee discount for me, so that'll help a bit.

Good stuff. Their desktop isn't the greatest UI in the world but it works.
