Instead, he got viciously raped, authorities say.
As the teammate restrained the victim, another football player allegedly thrust a coat hanger into the victim’s rectum, according to a criminal complaint. Then a third teammate kicked the coat hanger several times.
The Oct. 23, 2015, incident has rocked the tiny town of Dietrich, Idaho. This spring, after several months of investigation, the state attorney general’s office filed sexual assault charges against the three. Two of the teenagers are being charged as adults and could face life in prison, under Idaho law.
Earlier this month, the victim’s family filed a $10 million lawsuit against Dietrich High School. According to the lawsuit, the attack wasn’t a one-off, but rather the culmination of months of racist abuse by white students against the victim, who is black.
The victim “was taunted and called racist names by other members of the team which names included ‘Kool-Aid’ ‘chicken eater’ ‘watermelon’ and [the N-word],” the suit alleges.
The civil complaint filed in the U.S. District Court in Idaho also claims that one of the students charged with sexual assault displayed a Confederate flag and demanded the victim recite a racist song titled “Notorious KKK.”

Outside of the crime... it's the way they tricked the poor kid into thinking they accepted him as a teammate but then did all that fuckery that extra hurts my soul

At the hearing, Deputy State Attorney General Casey Hemmer called the attack “egregious,” causing the victim a lot of suffering, the Times News reported.
However, Hemmer told the court that based on the evidence it was the prosecution’s belief that McDaniel was not “at any time pinned down, raped, or pinned down and subjected to any sort of forcible penetration.”
“We don’t believe it’s appropriate for Mr. Howard to suffer the consequences of a sex offender,” Hemmer said. “But he still needs to be held accountable.”

Prosecutor does not deny the assault occurred, but says he does not believe the attack was racially motivated or sexual.

Shit Im mad at my parents for not raising me in a place where there are more black folks I really do. They had options and chose Sugar Land Texas.... I dont know why. I hate going back to that town.
I understand the desire to self segregate, and it isn't my place to say one shouldn't, but I don't think that's a long term solution to issues either. I personally wish I grew up in a more diverse town. I didn't expand my horizons until college and beyond.
I grew up in diversity and it was great. All different kinds of friends, cultures, FOOD. OH god the food.

For sure. I live in a mostly Hispanic and Black neighborhood in North Austin. There are still groups of supremacists out here too. I mean we had the Whitelivesmatter protest at UT last month.
There aren't many cities near me with high black populations unless I move closer to the city and I'll always be a boring suburb guy. I currently live in a city that's 40/30/25//5 White, Asian, Hispanic and other. Amazing food options where I live.
The city I grew up in was like 70/20/5/5 White, Hispanic, Asian and other. It was the most boring fucking town ever. Shitty food and yuppy rednecks. A ton of the town were 2nd gen and some 3rd and 4th gen people that lived there. It's like the town sucked these people into this bubble and they never leave. I remember going through the city some years back with my wife. We stopped at this place to grab a bite before I showed her my old house I grew up in. The waitress was a girl I knew from HS. Total fuck up with rich parents. We talked a little and she comments on how she moved to Upland CA. Keep in mind at this time I lived in Ontario CA. Ontario is like 75% Hispanic. Upland is north of Ontario and her parents bought her a house on a very well known street with beautiful craftsman homes. Gorgeous. Street. She complained about how there were too many Mexicans almost immediately. I'm so glad I got out of there. I'm scared to think of the person I would be today if I didn't.
