Set 3 years after the events of Uncharted 3, Nathan Drake has apparently left the world of fortune hunting behind. However, it doesn’t take long for adventure to come calling when Drake’s brother, Sam, re-emerges asking for his help to save his own life and offering an adventure Drake cannot resist. On the hunt for Captain Henry Avery’s long-lost treasure, Sam and Drake embark on a journey to find Libertalia, the pirate utopia deep in the forests of Madagascar. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End takes players around the globe, through jungle isles, urban cities and snow-capped peaks on the search for Avery’s fortune.

Incredible campaign. Best gameplay by ND. Best graphics ever. Great endgame and boss fight. Knocked it outta the park.
Tons of customization options in MP too. Can't wait to play some more.

Me too, had no idea how I managed to play it well after all these years.

Best Buy ran out of the pre-order coin thingies. This has greatly upset me for some reason as I'm headed home with the game.
By Fenderputty Go To PostHOw long is the campaign?
Took me 15 hours.
By P S Y C H Go To Postshame you can't beat Elena's score until the epilogue.oh my why did I read that lol
By Yurt Go To Postoh my why did I read that loldon't worry.
Oh these shady motherfuckers are keeping the coins and flipping them for $14.99 a piece on their site. That's so, so dirty....
Chapter 4 is fucking incredible.
Like, it's a videogame! What the fuck!
O fuck if that's for story related reasons I'm gonna be so angry I spoiled myself. O my god please.

the minigame's physics aren't right compared to the OG game. Messed me up. I'm not even entirely sure the last jump is doable.
it's also crazy how much of this game is in game. I thought they would be using videos like previous uncharted games but you can activate photo mode at any moment. It's fucking incredible
By reilo Go To PostAll of the cutscenes are now in-game and not pre-rendered.True, but there are a few video cutscenes, usually used when changing locations.
you can tell because in some cut scenes you can use all the photomode tools while in the videos you can access the photomode but none of the tools work.
Very few amount of videos, maybe 2 or 3.
Just hit chapter 10
Incredible game, it could end now and still be better than UC3
Massive disconnet between the standard of animation for 99% of the game, and the animation when you're pushing a box around. It looks and feels awful, tbh.

There's some serious pacing issues early on though. I got to chapter 6 last night and put it down. the first two hours drag a bit though there certainly are highlights
Just finished chapter 4 and it's been quite ponderous but I like that sort of thing.
I suck at finding treasure mind you.

Played up to chapter 7 last night. Throughly impressed with the visuals, story and the way they've integrated the combat. It hasn't felt stuffed into the game at all yet. I'm shocked at how much they've focused on platforming over the shooting too. Like pleasantly surprised.
Stuff like chapter 4 is the stuff legends are made of. What a card to play.

What did he spoil? Like, Elena is the greatest human being that's ever lived?
By Freedom = $1.05 Go To PostThere's some serious pacing issues early on though. I got to chapter 6 last night and put it down. the first two hours drag a bit though there certainly are highlightsI disagree. I think the only chapter that went on a bit too long for my liking is the orphanage where you meet young Sam. And I think they did that for two reasons:
1. To use it as a training mission for both new and returning players. It's practically all platforming with the new rope and slide move mixed in.
&
2. To show off their engine in that environment. The lighting outdoors during that time day is spooky good with the buildings, trees and light fog.
As I mentioned in my previous post I've only just reached chapter 7, but I'm fine with how they've laid the groundwork up to this point to tell their story. I'm sure shit ramps up before they hit their stride towards the finish too.
By Hitch Go To PostFucking livid that my brother spoiled that. And then said 'that's not really a spoiler btw'It's not a huge spoiler in the scope of things. But it is a huge blow to the impact that they were very deliberately trying to set with everything you do in the chapter leading up to that point. Shitty way to experience it. I'm glad I'm an only child. :(

The AA actually feels bad. It makes things look blurry as hell when the game is in motion, reminds me too much of the QXAA sony's first parties usd on the PS3. I wish i could turn it off.
I got to Chapter 8 and the game got gud. Shit is finally moving along now that all the backstory and setup has been established and im having a great time.

Wasn't really liking it that much until the start of chapter 8/9 and onwards. It's starting to really pick up now.
First 7 chapters are written and paced like they were created by actual adults with a modicum of talent for building a story and grounding its characters.
Refreshing, especially for this series.

It's the only uncharted game where I've really enjoyed the story as well as the characters. It's got a constant throughline for a start, instead of introducing new characters and stakes every other chapter.
The little details are so impressive. Just reached chapter 9 and even the footprints in the snow look amazing zoomed in with the photo mode.
Now the footy season is winding down I might actually have some more time for some vidya games. Looking forward to making a bit of progress this weekend.
Done. :(
Still need to digest and process everything, but it'll probably go down in history as my favourite Uncharted.
Loved the ending.
Only click if you've finished it.
As for flaws, shortcomings and everything else, I suppose it got a bit too shoot-y and same-y towards the end, especially the last couple of chapters. Overall I'm suprised how very ... Uncharted it was. Thinking about it now, the direction Druckmann and Straley chose - remaining 100% faithful to the series' spirit, that is - paid in full. I'm more or less fine with it, but I'll admit that I was expecting them to introduce at least a few radical changes in the series' gameplay. (Like, the rope is dope, but I was really hoping we'd finally get platforming that's somewhat challenging. Nope, it remains as easy and mindless as it ever was, which is a real shame.) And for them to throw a couple of proper gut punches, as far as the story and characters go. I guess it was silly to expect real darkness in Uncharted, but after TLoU and with a brother in the mix (family drama is best / worst drama) I just kinda assumed. The whole Nathan & Elena thing was executed pretty much flawlessly, though.
Gonna miss Nate & m8s, but I'm glad they ended the series on such a high note. Onward and upward, Naughty Dog.
