By reilo Go To Post$399? Is that good?Cheaper than the others, still too expensive to instantly be a big thing though imo
VR is gonna be a very slow burn with these prices and constraints, if it ever burns at all
That price could almost be considered cheap if you already own a PlayStation 4, and even if you don't, the total cost is much less than Sony's VR competitors. The Oculus Rift starts at $599 and Valve's HTC Vive will sell for $799, but both of those headsets require powerful PCs that can cost much more than the $299 PS4.Hrmm, ok. Content is still key.
By Rob Go To Postsince when was PS4 $299?Must be a typo on their part unless Sony is about to drop a bombshell on MS.

By Rob Go To PostJob Simulator
bc that's what ppl want. To come home from their job to work another job
Perfect for people into shit like Destiny
They're going to need to demo the shit out of this at every Best Buy, Target, fucking Sears and public space they can for it to gain the type of support it's going to take to make it a success.
No Man's Sky not being on that list makes less than no sense.
The camera is required too? Are Move controllers also mandatory?
This all seems so risky. But I suppose we now know what e3 is going to be about.

I'll probably sit out the first generation of VR headsets.
I'm mostly interested in cockpit experiences (space & flight sims), but seeing awesome stuff like this ...

... Half-Life 3 just begs to be made. Valve pls.

By RATHasReturned Go To PostSony has the install base at their fingertips. If they continue to deliver, they'll be in the lead.
Thanks Pachter
seriously though that list
what is this shit? who gonna spend $400 to play Megaton Rainfall and Gary the Gull?

Just think of all the regular ass games you'll get to play in theater mode while you wait for the industry to figure out VR. Just imagine.
Cheap VR (like say Cardboard) is a fun thing to mess around with and the potential uses could be awesome with high end stuff but I don't know if it's ready and accessible enough currently.
Anecdotally every time I see people encounter Cardboard it's a pretty big hit. The interest could be there....I dunno.

yes it says PS3. Ad department will edit that out.
I am kind of interested but I not sure if I am 400 interested. Also I think that list is missing some stuff like that Rigs game and the REZ port.
Make this a real game and I'll buy it
people popping bottles on the other site as if this struggle box represents great value lol
the thing is going to be the equivalent of a viewfinder in comparison to future versions of rift and vive

By Dark PhaZe Go To Postpeople popping bottles on the other site as if this struggle box represents great value lolCould the PS5 have the architecture to get the PSVR closer to its competitors, or is it restricted by the tech of the headset?

Can't see it working if they have to release a new headset in a few years' time to keep up.
Wouldn't be at all surprised if this was Sony's one and only foray into VR, and the entire thing fell on its arse. Oculus is the one where they have to make it work, since they have nothing else.
