On March 18, the Devil returns to Netflix.

After taking down Wilson Fisk, Matt Murdoch continues to fight against injustice as lawyer by day and as Daredevil by night but a couple of new arrivals will make Matt's life a little more complicated and push him to his limits. A man who has lost everything and has made his life mission to destroy every criminal in the city, a former lover who has become a deadly assassin and a cult of mystical ninjas who won't stop at nothing until their enemies are dead.

Matt Murdoch / Daredevil

Charlie Cox ("Stardust", "Boardwalk Empire") is back as The Man Without Fear. Matt Murdoch continues his campaign to clean up Hell's Kitchen while trying to juggle the two sides of his life. He is still struggling with guilt for the pain and suffering that he has caused as the Daredevil and his friends, who now know his secret, try to talk him out of continuing with his double life as they fear it will kill him sooner or later. His former lover Elektra comes storming back to his life as Matt tries to handle a rouge vigilante who is out killing criminals with out any afterthought on collateral damage.

Frank Castle / The Punisher

For The Punisher's first big live-action TV appearance, Marvel decided to let Jon Bernthal ("The Walking Dead", "Fury") wear the skull-faced vest. Frank Castle is a man who had his family killed by criminals. Possibly a former soldier, Castle has taken the battle to the streets and has only one goal on his life, to kill everyone who was involved in the murder of his family. As The Punisher, he will deliver his type of hard justice to criminals because he thinks that Daredevil is only an half measure and as he says to Matt : "When you hit, they get back up. When I hit, they stay down."

Elektra Natchios

Élodie Yung ("G.I.Joe : Retaliation", "Gods Of Egypt") takes the role of Elektra. Back on their university years, she used to have a relationship with Matt Murdoch and she now returns to his life after many years. As dangerous as she is mysterious, Elektra is a woman that won't stop at nothing to get what she wants. An expert fighter herself, she asks Matt for assistance on a Yakuza related matter but they will soon have to face a much more dangerous group of adversaries called The Hand...

Karen Page

Played again by the lovely Deborah Ann Woll ("True Blood", "Ruby Sparks"), Karen Page had quite the journey through Season 1. She fought to find out the truth on why she was framed for mother but that truth came with deadly consequences as the Ben Ulrich, the journalist who helped her on her quest, was killed by Wilson Fisk and she ended up killing Fisk's right hand man. Now she tries to live with the weight of those two deaths hanging over her while also struggling with the fact that the man she loves is the Daredevil. But she might have a powerful rival for Matt's affection...

Franklin "Foggy" Nelson

The role of Matt's trusty friend is played by Elden Henson ("The Mighty Ducks", "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I & II"). Foggy is Matt's best friend since university and they also own a law firm together. Their friendship was rocked by the revelation that Matt is Daredevil but at the end of Season 1 they seemed to patch things up. Foggy still has an hard time trying to accept the "night" side of Matt Murdoch's life as he fears that it will cause the early death of his old friend. He also craves the love of Karen Page but she only seems to be interested in Matt.

Other confirmed characters :

Claire Temple - Rosario Dawson ("Sin City", "Clerks 2") is back as nurse Claire Temple after a quick appearance on Jessica Jones. One of the few people who knows Matt's secret, she patches him up after his rougher nights in the city.

Stick - Played by Scott Glen ("Silence Of The Lambs", "Bourne Ultimatum"), Stick was Matt's mentor when he was a young boy. They fought each other on Season 1 where Stick agreed to leave the city after being defeated. His return to the city might be linking with the upcoming threat of The Hand.

Reviews

Independent - 'A wonky start that soon settles into a fierce and exciting pace'

Film School Reject - "In short, Daredevil season two is chaotic and violent, in good ways and in bad. And based on what was screened for us, it still has a lot of story to tell."

Screen Crush - "There’s a dark, confident intensity at work to realizing all of these characters onscreen together, and it’s a miracle that Daredevil can invest in its leads as well as the ten-story brawl between them."

Den Of Geek - "Flaws and all, Daredevil is still the most ambitious live action superhero project around, and even the things I don't love are the result of a series willing to take risks that I can't imagine other franchises would."
