Image, Vertigo, IDW, Dark Horse etc.
Last Marvel or DC comic I actually followed and read was Fraction Aja Hawkeye. Independents do superhero stuff better anyways. Buzzkill anyone? Dude has to get fucked up on drugs to get his super powers, great little story.
I wish Francanvilla would do more with the Black Beetle.

He showed off a few pages.
I'm still enjoying my jaunt through Marvel Unlimited. I understand what Apollo is saying about the 'Big Two' publishers, but I guess if you're OK with that you're OK with that. Doctor Strange (1968) has been amazing so far, if only for the artwork.
Indie wise I'm all up to date with The Walking Dead, finished Letter 44 #21 (not sure I'll continue with this one), and have a whole host of Image comics to read thanks to the bundle.

Btw the new Superman writer that you talked about?..Is he good?Very hard to find proper/good Superman runs
By KingGondo Go To PostThis thread got me itching to pick Saga back up, but I know if I buy the softcover editions I'll end up double-dipping later when the deluxe hardcover comes out.OHC for it is out already actually. It's pretty big, think it collects the first three trades? Looked nice when I saw it at the shop.
Ah well. Probably still worth it.
I'm pretty close to dropping all Marvel/DC myself. Reading a lot of indie/alternative stuff lately like Love and Rockets and Island. Kinda hard to get excited for Avengers and shit after that. Though older comics are still fun. Been reading Silver Age Doom Patrol on and off and it's good stuff.

Broke down and bought the next two collections in softcover. Looking into options to catch up and read it as it goes.
Wish I had an iPad Pro for comics alone.
Marc Silvestri is coming back to DC. Expect Rich to leak some rebirth stuff before tomorrow. Rumor is DC is keeping nu52 and bringing back the old universe too.
Ordered issues 31-33 of Saga from eBay, then I'll buy 34 locally this month which should catch me up. Subscribing from there.
Thanks for inspiring my addiction fellas. :)

Bit more complicated than that, but close enough.
Man i want to be excited for DC stuff but the whole editorial is a mess with Didio around..His 'superheroes shouldn't marry' mentality is fucking awful.
Did you guys read Avengers Standoff this week? It's looking like a prelude to the return of the Thunderbolts. Pretty interesting so far.
Staying away from event stuff from Marvel so I skipped Standoff.
Power Man and Iron Fist #1 was cool though. I missed Danny being goofy.

Went by a new local comic shop and grabbed the first issues of Paper Girls and Tokyo Ghost on the recommendation of the owner.
Holy shit. Both are amazing.

Cliff Chiang's art in Paper Girls is amazing. He is probably the best artist for DC females..Him or Amanda Conner(she doesnt do interiors anymore :()

The art is mindblowingly great.
I have to pick up the rest of the TPB's for Deadly Class. Only have the first and know I'd love the rest of the series.
Not really a fan of Scott Snyder's Batman or Superman( Superman Unchained was terribly bland)..His creator owned work is pretty good..AmVamp is great..His best Batman story comes in Tec when Dick Grayson was Batman(The Black Mirror)
Edit : It may also be because i don't care about Bruce Wayne..Should've stayed dead along with Hal and Barry

I want to start Iron Fist after I'm done with my marathon of Black Panther. Anyone have any tips on where to start?

The new Power Man and Iron Fist comic is promising so far too.

There's a new power man!? I didn't even know. I only have the actual first edition in my MCU to read but I didn't know they picked it back up.
I don't read comics generally but have loved BKV since a friend introduced me to Y The Last Man back when I was in college (2005 or so). Had to come say something since I saw the Saga pic on the front page.

If you like BKV you'll have to read Paper Girls as well.

Just caught up with TWD, hadn't read anything since June. It's just so much better than the TV show.
By KingGondo Go To PostHow far are you? I'm 4 issues behind atm but I have them all.I have read the first 5 TPBs which looks like all that is out in collected form thus far. Haven't heard of Paper Girls before. Got a little info on it?

There's a lot more to it than that but I don't want to spoil you.

It literally just began so it's not going to be on MU for six months or so lol
And on Paper Girls: It's dope. I'm a few issues behind but it's good stuff so far. It's actually my first BKV comic. I have four or so trades of Saga but I've never read it.
Going through Waid's Flash again...I dont really like it as much as i used to..Infact i think it goes downhill after Return of Barry Allen, which in itself isnt that great imo...Born to Run is the peak i think ,which is crazy because its the first story he wrote.
By King Riovane Go To PostJust started reading Saga. Pretty good thus far.Welcome to the club!
Civil War II started yesterday - wooooooooooooooo!
Not really, they just put the event banner on Invincible Iron Man #7. It's weird that they're having two Avengers events overlap. Seems like this one was just thrown together real quick because the movie is coming out.

The banner is the lead up to Civil War not Civil War M8. Secret Wars delays fucked standoffs timing.

Storm and BP shows they might have a point. The fan hate of that marriage was rediculous

Its not because 2 characters got married, but because they were forced together and made it seem like it was the most amazing thing ever.
Didnt help that they werent written well together afterward
Speaking of BP, here's an update by Coates:
Despite the difference in style and practice of storytelling, my approach to comic books ultimately differs little from my approach to journalism. In both forms, I am trying to answer a question. In my work for The Atlantic I have, for some time, been asking a particular question: Can a society part with, and triumph over, the very plunder that made it possible? In Black Panther there is a simpler question: Can a good man be a king, and would an advanced society tolerate a monarch? Research is crucial in both cases. The Black Panther I offer pulls from the archives of Marvel and the character’s own long history. But it also pulls from the very real history of society—from the pre-colonial era of Africa, the peasant rebellions that wracked Europe toward the end of the Middle Ages, the American Civil War, the Arab Spring, and the rise of isis.http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2016/04/the-return-of-the-black-panther/471516/
