More than 60% of ESPN's revenue comes from their dwindling subscriber base

ESPN is estimated to have made $10.8 billion in revenue in 2014 according to estimates by SNL Kagan (via the Wall Street Journal) and Wunderlich Securities (via Forbes). Of that revenue, nearly two-thirds (63.9%) came from subscription fees paid by cable television customers.
In 2014, ESPN charged cable companies the largest fee by any network, by far, at $6.04 per subscriber whether those people watched ESPN or not. That translates to more than $6.9 billion in revenue from subscribers alone, easily ESPN's biggest source of revenue.
It is also worrisome as the number of people with ESPN in their homes has fallen by more than 8 million subscribers since its peak in 2011. That, coupled with skyrocketing costs associated with airing live sporting events, is a terrible combination.http://www.businessinsider.com/espn-revenue-subscriber-fees-2015-11
Honestly have no idea why people even still watch ESPN. They have/had nothing besides 30 for 30.
i forget that skip and SAS exist until someone gives them the attention they want

I like Around the Horn and PTI. And MNF I guess.
And they do decent general sports reporting, besides. If you want to stay up to the minute on sports, ESPN ain't a bad route to go, even though they do have their characters.
Espn is nz is ass.
Has nothing. Just classics, those shows where they talk about sport, the occasional nba or nfl game live.

By KingGondo Go To PostThey still air a ton of live sports.Yeah, if they didn't air NBA games, I would never even bother. The entire channel is all the most inane, instant hot take analysis and it's totally mind-numbing. SportsCenter is totally unwatchable because they always go for analysis rather than just showing me the god damn highlights.
Other than the occasional nation game I never watch it. The only reason I haven't cut the cable is because both the Lakers and the Dodgers would be blacked out on their respective NBA and MLB networks.
The only reason they've moved to more and more talking head nonsense is because that's what people want. They've got the MBA's on it and the research backs this up. It's not their fault their biggest audience is made up of the mentally challenged who want some clairvoyant analysis at all hours of the day.
Anyway, everyone should just cut the cord (I did five years ago) and share the same online details. I don't think they cap it. I've been using the same Fios login and password for years now. I'm sure they won't catch on.
