You play as Maxine Caulfield, an 18 year old girl attending a private academy in a small town in Oregon. After witnessing a girl get shot in the school bathroom, Max discovers that she has the power to rewind time. There are five episodes, each taking place over a single day, with the entire narrative covering a week in Max's life from Monday to Friday. I'm not going to get into details, but the story gets progressively darker with each day, and it covers some seriously heavy themes. This is a modern day coming of age story; it's about the loss of childhood innocence.
I can't remember the last time a videogame affected me so much emotionally. I've lost sleep over this fucking thing. Anyone else here play it? If you haven't, you should. Right now.

The fact that the rewind mechanic is incorporated into the actual gameplay is what sets it apart from the usual Telltale tripe. You can rewind at will so everyone's experience is a little different.

It not a perfect game by any stretch of the imagination but its a game worth playing. This is coming from someone who absolutely hates Tellatale and episodic games too
