Can't wait to replace my 5S. 3D Touch looks nice. I lack that they added a level of sensitivity to force touch beyond just rebranding it. iPad Pro feels like it's gonna get a lot of play in the designer and artist circles.
The camera sounds amazing.

Same I'm looking to upgrade from my iPhone 5S and get rid of my iPad 2 for a 6S+ but I'm still on the fence on whether or not I'll get used to the size.
I was thinking of doing the bigger one for my eBooks and to have a two in one solution. I'll have until February to decide since that's around when my upgrade is.
Really looking forward to the new iOS9 features and it's cross compatibility with El Capitan via iCloud and other features. I hope they keep these features working with legacy Mac models. I'm on an early 2011 MacBook Pro and I'm gonna be sticking with it for a few more years before upgrading.
I get that the iPad Pro is great but holy shit at that price. Damn...

Holy shit that live photo thing is going to be incredibly popular with millennials and people with small children.
Has anyone done that before?

By Vahagn Go To PostHoly shit that live photo thing is going to be incredibly popular with millennials and people with small children.Gifs? Yeah. It's been done before.

I change my mind after watching the keynote, iPad Pro is amazing. God damn...
The only con I have for it is the lack of included pen and keyboard as well as the low storage option.
This thing looks amazing.
It seems like it's a new Apple codec rather than GIF or webm. It looks really great and fun when you couple Live Photo with the 3D Touch. It makes things much more dynamic.
Apparently Live Photo captures a 1.5-2 second snippet before and after you take a photo and you can choose which moment you can save for Live Photos. It's all in the Keynote presentation which I thought was pretty cool.
I'm curious of how the battery works with all these new features.

Got a Galaxy S6 but been waiting for this announcement to decide if I wanna jump. Never had a iphone before. Only Apple product I've ever had is our current Macbook Pro...and that's my wife machine.

iPhone 6S(+) section starts at 82 minutes and ends at ~110-120 minutes.
I'd say check it out at the Apple Store or check a friend who is picking one up and try it out. It does take some time to transition but ever since moving to the Apple ecosystem for OS X and iOS, I just couldn't really go back. In my experience I got to appreciate it more and more over time and notice more of the little things compared to other OS.
Apple released a migration app for Android users making the switch so that once you buy your new iPhone, you can download the app for your Android device and have all your stuff migrate into the iOS ecosystem.
Love how everything is so streamlined and connected. Since your wife has a Macbook Pro she might love the connectivity between iPhone and Mac should you pick one up for either yourself or for her.

My 5 is running long in the tooth, so who knows.
My only gripe is lightning. I’m so sick and tired of lightning. USB-C :(

I don't think I'll upgrade the phones just yet. My 5S is still fine. And I just recently bought an iPad mini 2.
But the new Apple TV? Yes please. I spend more time watching Apple TV than I do regular cable at my house, and assuming Ball Streams will work with it, the new Apple TV will be my next Apple purchase

Ever since the Surface 2, my tastes for a laptop hybrid have soured. I'm so happy Apple realised that hybrids suck, and it has to be one or the other. The iPad Pro fits the exact needs I'm interested in, a stronger, bigger, faster and more useful iPhone (or iPad). Will definitely consider picking one up for my classes and general leisure.
Also can't wait for the Apple TV, that's where its at people. Watch is great and all, but this is gonna be way more important.

Fuuuuuck preorders are live in a couple hours. Refreshing and trying to get in my Rose Gold 6S+ preorder.
Hopefully it's still easy to preorder on Sprint.com. I am so tired lol
PS: I will get the Apple TV and ipad mini 4 as well

Same Reilo, selling my 5S, iPod Touch, and iPod for it. Thankfully I have Apple Japan, Verizon and other places as a backup while the Apple Store crashes.
Rose Gold 6S+ Let's goooooo.

By reilo Go To PostI've never done the trade-in and pre-order at the same time. How do you do it?
Depends on your carrier, for my 4S to 5S I just did a straight trade in at the Apple Store release date after preordering. You can do that for other carriers too I believe. Verizon definitely does but the Apple Store is most convenient.
For me this time I'm actually going to sell my stuff separately for cash and put the upgrade on my credit for the time being.
Which carrier are you on? I would go ahead and preorder and trade your 5S into the Apple Store on the 25th.
AT&T. But I have to do the trade-in first or the pre-order first? And all on apple.com? Basically want to put the trade-in amount towards the pre-order.
Keep both open in case you're unable to order through the Apple Store then you'll have the AT&T site open for a backup.
You would preorder first and check it as part of your upgrade and then you would have to go back in store to trade in your phone when you pick it up. It is the same way if you ship it to home.
Going to the Apple Store on release day is the smoothest process for trading in. Besides that you'll have to do it at ATT Store too but I don't know what their policy is since I am using both SoftBank and Verizon at the moment.

By reilo Go To PostGot it. But the problem is I have to pay $299 up front?
On an upgrade? Yeah but I wasn't charged until picking it up and they deducted the cost off the $299 when picking it up so I my invoice would have the updated amount.
It's 2 weeks you should be okay.
It's 2015 what the fuck. How have you not figured this shit out yet?
EDIT: WTF? Why I can't I buy it at $299 on a 2-year contract? What is this AT&T Next shit??

I'm calling Verizon at the moment and trying to schedule appointments at both Apple Store and Verizon. Got one so far...
Try scheduling appointment instead.
Try scheduling appointment instead.
You have to pay $749 up front if you want to do in-store delivery. This is bonkers. Two-year contract at $299 is only available through AT&T. Sigh.
EDIT: I just realized I'll be in Portland when this shit gets delivered and they will only ship it to my billing address in San Francisco. There's no way I can even get it on September 25th. I'm just gonna wait until I am back. This is fucked.

I haven't paid shit yet, I've only got a reservation in store for one Apple Store. Site is hammered and I'm still on hold for Verizon.
^ But I would have to pay $749 when I show up to pick it up.
The fact that I can't pick where and when I want my phone delivered is extremely frustrating. The fact that these payment plans are vague and confusing and obfuscated through marketing speak is even more frustrating. I don't understand the benefits of paying a 30-month $24.97/mo plan besides getting an unlocked phone. Chances are my account won't be $25/mo less, so why am I paying full price on the phone now? How does that benefit me?
This is really frustrating. I feel like I am lacking the information I need and that it is being purposefully hidden from me to get my money.
EDIT: $65 tax and a $15 upgrade fee. $45 upgrade fee over att.com. What is this bullshit?

I'm pretty angry and confused and frustrated right now. This all seems like a huge money grab for the carrier.
I'm tired and I'm gonna call and follow up with them tomorrow. Gonna try and keep getting a reserve at the Apple Store till I pass out.
I have no idea what is going on with AT&T I hope it works out for you. It's amazing how this whole experience is the same old shitshow and hard ass experience.

If I understand this correctly, here is what happens if I choose AT&T Next with the $25/mo payment installment:
Switch to AT&T Mobile Shared plan, lose my Unlimited Data, then pay $50/mo for 5GB cap, pay $25/mo for data access and $25/mo for my phone. Right now I pay roughly $82/mo and to get the 6S 64GB I'd pay $134 ($299 - ~$165 for trade-in) up front. Like, what? Am I wrong? This sounds insane.

What the hell is ATT Next? Man shit I don't know what's going with that. Bump that extra fee shit.
Like I always ordered direct from the Apple Store with an instore reservation nothing paid yet. I haven't been able to get any Apple Store appointment at all since the log in site keeps cycling and kicking me out. Verizon on the other hand upgraded nicely as I was due for one...

Mind you, I am eligible for an upgrade because it's been 2 years. I still have the option of purchasing it at $299 but I can't get it since I can't change my delivery date.
EDIT: So I can pre-order through AT&T and pick a 2-year contract, but I get charged a $45 upgrade fee and $65 tax, sheeit. I'll just trade my phone in for cash. And I get to pick my shipping address so I am shipping it to work while I am in Portland.

You called/ordered through ATT right? Can't even do an instore pick up in Portland or any Apple Store?
Like this shit is frustrating. I'm on the line with Verizon now since I got through quickly and I'm reworking my plan details out right now.
Edit fuck they delayed my phone to October 7th. What the fuck... My confirmation said September 25th and after calling they said that it's now October 7th...
Better than nothing...

I ordered it via att.com and having it shipped to work. If it arrives September 25th, there'll be someone there to sign it for me. Also got price locked for my iPhone 5S at $145 on gazelle.com (should have done this 2 days ago for $165, oh well). Ideally I'll get my phone on September 25th and get a check, which will barely offset the $110 I paid in taxes and upgrade fees. Fucking robbery.
I don't ever want to deal with selling shit on Craigslist again. $145 is what Apple offers. Let me see what AT&T gives.
EDIT: $140 from AT&T.
EDIT: $140 from AT&T.
Alright now with everything said and done here's my situation.
I usually buy direct from Apple but this time it's not working for me.
Bought via Verizon on a new 2 year contract and paying it all off now instead of the subsidised price or payment plan. So $849 + Tax for the 6S+ 64 GB with $200 off for my upgrade promotion.
That's $649 + Tax, which ends up being like $765 after tax?
Trade in my 5S I get it for $465.
After my iPad and iPod Touch I sell that will be around another $350-400.
In the end I get the phone for $65-$115 depending on how much I get for my sales, fully owned no extra payments at all.
Same plan I've been on, 2GB + 1 GB Data and Unlimited Talk/Text. Downside is that I apparently don't get it September 25th and get it October 7th instead?

That's a great deal. Not sure how you got $300 for your old phone that's nuts.
Trying to do all the math on this AT&T Next thing and I only found a single scenario where it's cheaper than doing a standard 2-year contract but I can't confirm it cause the marketing double-speak and every Next scenario has me losing unlimited data.
In the end I paid $263 for a 64GB 6S after tax and upgrade fee and kept my unlimited data.

Sprint is a complete shitshow. The site was broken so I called in. After completing the order, I was about to sign off but I noticed the email confirmation showed a gold kit. On hold while she tries to fix it. Ugh....

Great news! We received your iPhone order and it is expected to be delivered on September 25, 2015.Getting it shipped to work while I'm out of town.
Apparently the 6S(+) is more durable with a stronger glass finish so no bendgate or easy scratches?
I'm thinking of picking these cases and accessories up since I've been a long time TUNEWEAR customer but I was hoping anyone else would have suggestions for cases and accessories?
I prefer a bumper like below or an extremely thin clear case. I'd like to go caseless but the 6S+ is much bigger than the 5S and any phone I had before it so I'm paranoid of easier damage. Might go for the Glass Screen protector too.

How is everyone's luck so far?
Really good impressions of the Apple Pencil and iPad Pro. This thing looks even better than revealed.

I finally found a comparison of AT&T Next (essentially, the monthly payment plan) versus traditional 2-year contract breakdown:
http://m.att.com/shopmobile/wireless/next-calculate-the-value.html
Essentially, I have to get rid of my grandfathered Unlimited plan and switch to a Mobile Shared Data plan to save $80 over 2 years. The "value" I gain is the ability to upgrade my phone every year and free Apple Care. Not only that, but to hit that $80 number, they had to lower the activation fee.
Also, if you notice, those numbers are out of date. iPhone 6S is $299 on 2-year contract and the monthly cost is $24.97/mo over 30 months. Basically, a wash.
In case you're wondering, I'm holding up two middle fingers.

Seems like it's a new plan offering.
I just ordered my bumper and some extra stuff for next week or so when the phones are out. Looking forward to the 2GB RAM, 3D Touch, and especially that amazing camera. Successfully sold my iPad, just gotta get rid of my 5S and iPod Touch by when I pick the 6S+ up.
