I'm travelling 3 hours by myself to see a gig in October. None of my friends like the band and I've missed far too many gigs because of this. finally said fuck it.
Do it bro

Bring a camera and pretend that it's your job or something.
Or get really fucked up.
Taylor Swift concert?

You never know what could happen. I've engaged in all types of fuckery (literally? hmm..) during concerts so you should go alone and let whatever happens happens.
Seeing as barely anyone I know like the same music as me, they are not exactly in for travelling long distances to go to concerts with me. So yeah, I have gone to lots of concerts alone, usually in Denmark I've had someone with me, but in England, Germany and Sweden it was alone every time. Been great fun, really my best fun at concerts and after when I have been alone, as I've met all kinds of great and hilarious people that way.
Like 8 years ago I went to a show by myself at dantes. This rando girl was giving me every signal, or so I thought. Slow ballad starts playing so I put my hand down on her waist to start the sway.
She turns around and says "what are you doing?"
My balls went further inside my body than the time I had hypothermia.

If it's a show I really wanted to go to AND it wasn't some sit down venue I would go. Get a little sauced up. Sneak in a couple joints and you'll make friend.
I guess it depends on the show though.

Its great if you want to see the act but having no one to reminisce about the concert with later sort of takes away from it later.
Anytime when my music taste don't match up with my close friends and i just want to go anyway aka 3 out the last 4 concerts i've been to
I'll travel anywhere in Texas to see
Tool
A Perfect Circle

big fucking deal. Do what you want. Only cunts would rag on you going on your own.
Enjoy yourself, fella
My man. Why scrape the bottom of the barrel and go for those women, though bro.

I go to a majority of concerts solo, just cause I don't have friends into the same kind of music. It's not at all a bad experience. Hell, try to buddy up with others at the venue. Make a new friend or two.
I've been to one by myself and ended up hooking up with a girl i met there a week later. I wouldn't plan it to go by myself but fuck what people think about you. You wanna go, you go and make some nice eyes at the ladies.
Go have fun. Nobody else at the show cares that you're there alone.
Movies by yourself are fine, too.

This week I went to MI:5 and then to Wand (that's a band) on my own. I broke all codes and laws, I went to the movies and a gig on my own at the same day. And it wasn't the first time either! :P

I don't go that often, but the cinema is only a 5 min walk from my house. And i'm a student. I take full advantage of empty day time screenings.
Yeah, I love going to the cinema in the morning. It's always a shock for me when I go to a blockbuster with some friends how loud cinema crowds are. Seeing The Hobbit at prime time and Her at 11 in the morning is like day and night.
Yup, I have a 9am Monday lecture and then nothing for 5 hours. The cinema does half price tickets for students on Mondays and Tuesdays. Gunna be seeing a lot of films.
I go to operas a lot by myself as it can be difficult to find friends (even fellow opera lovers) to see some of the more obscure stuff.
I've also gone to the cinema alone, and in the future I'm probably going to more gigs alone as well.
I'm not going to make myself feel awkward about seeing music/films/performances of things that I love just because people have different tastes. Sometimes, of course, I'd prefer some company (like when travelling, or if I see something that I badly want to discuss) but that's how it goes. Either I go it alone or I don't see it at all.

Welp, I've recovered now.
Pretty fun going by yourself, meeting new peeps. When you're the only one in your group of friends who likes metal...

I almost ended up going to a 30 Seconds to Mars concert back in 2006 on my own after my friend bailed...but asked a girl if she wanted to come with me.
That girl is now my wife. :p

I might go to the theater if this deal existed here.
