- Features a freestyle vocals mechanic. Vocalist can sing any note as long as it's in key with the original song's singing.
- Rock Band 4 will be the only Rock Band for this generation. They just want to add features on top of RB4; for example, they've said if there was enough interest, they could add Keys down the road. Getting rid of pro guitar after all the money I spent on it is a huge slap in the face. I'm done with Rock Band unless they add it back.
I'm stupidly excited for Van Halen. The DLC prospects from today's announcement are awesome. Runnin with the Devil, Ain't Talkin Bout Love, Pretty Woman, god, I need this. This game needs to come out already.

Likely, since the original Pretty Woman is already in Rock Band as DLC.

in which case that'd be cool, and also isn't unprecendented - both Social Distortion's and Johnny Cash's original Ring of Fire are in the store.
Yeah, I knew about that, but I actually like the Van Halen cover more than the original. In fact, it might be my favorite song by the band. It's really good and really shows off the range Van Halen had.
Playing their songs in a engine that is actually tight and not totally broken is going to be great. Will buy all that DLC.

Wonder if we'll get Hagar era tracks this time
TBH I hate Panama, but at least it isn't Hot For Teacher on disc either. Looking forward to what they select for DLC.

By Bruh Go To PostWonder if we'll get Hagar era tracks this timeI don't like Panama all that much, either. It's a bit of a weird choice to me when you have the whole catalog to choose from. I can't imagine it's more requested than something like Ain't Talkin Bout Love.

And I won't lie, I actually really like 5150 and wouldn't mind seeing tracks from that album hit the store (Dreams, Love Walks In, 5150), but I really doubt it. The falling out with Hagar seemed pretty bad last time. I'm just thrilled we're going to get any Van Halen.
Panama is much more iconic Van Halen than Ain't Talkin Bout Love. I can't even think how that song goes off the top of my head. For me, the iconic Van Halen songs are Jump, Panama, and Hot For Teacher.
Hot For Teacher is one of those songs that's fun to listen to, but annoying to play. Like "Been Caught Stealing" by Jane's Addiction in Rock Band 3.

Like "Been Caught Stealing" by Jane's Addiction in Rock Band 3.Those Neversoft Guitar Hero games aren't the best judge (I strongly dislike the timing windows in those games. I can't play them.) but I definitely didn't like playing Hot for Teacher in World Tour. It's a chore.
Also I loved pro, but they pretty much openly acknowledge Rocksmith won the real guitar teaching war.
But they've also said they could just add it back into the game later.
Rocksmith for guitar covers, Rock Band for full band jamming, GHLive for guitar-centric songs, s'all good. The music game war days are over (at least amongst most of the players; we all tend to play all of the games)
