Young, anti-social computer programmer Elliot works as a cybersecurity engineer during the day, but at night he is a vigilante hacker. He is recruited by the mysterious leader of an underground group of hackers to join their organization. Elliot's task? Help bring down corporate America, including the company he is paid to protect, which presents him with a moral dilemma. Although he works for a corporation, his personal beliefs make it hard to resist the urge to take down the heads of multinational companies that he believes are running -- and ruining -- the world.
By Slizz Go To PostLol too bad its first season is about to end.I know, but at least we have a dedicated place to discuss this GOAT show
Great show though.
By Slizz Go To PostSeason 2 confirmed already.Really? Can't wait.
Yeah I've been thinking about making a thread for this. Been trying to get people to watch it. Malek should be up for some rewards.
I didn't expect the show to go as dark as it has as of recently.

Alright
So I had a suspicion that Mr Robot was his dad, but no idea that Darlene was the sister. Kind of hilarious when I think about people hating Darlene and thinking they should ditch her. This is a more interesting twist since it throws Elliot's motivation into chaos.

The most fucked up thing is that Mr Robot/Dad knew Elliot was in a split persona and went with it. That's like the entire purpose of the talk on the pier. To put forth Elliot's mind v Mr Robot.
The other bit is that he would have hid this from his daughter as well.
There is a possibility that Robot/Dad didn't know, and that all we see in the first season is Elliot when he is in the abandoned persona. We do not get to see him function during more lucid moments*. However, I feel the plot will go with Robot/Dad taking advantage of things. This is due to the conversation with Tyrell.
*This gets into how you read Angela's "you've not been there recently" discussion. Either it's F Society or Ellito's mental health, and in which way it is his mental health.

By Zeus Ex Machina Go To Postwow so is the whole he is in Elliot's head theory kaputz?....
It's not completely dead, but I think it would be lame/unfair to go that way now.

Keep watching. Just.... keep watching. Christ this show...
Easily the best new show I've watched in quite some time. Soundtrack is excellent as are the performances and writing. Just a very fascinating plot and satisfying character work.

Oh my god
By Eatadick6969 Go To PostEpisode 7so what are your thoughts on episode 8?
Oh my god
Just watched episode 1. I'm fucking in and telling the world. Gonna watch it all and read what you guys have been saying.
Watched the first 4 episodes and I'm not seeing it. There isn't a single redeemable quality about even 1 of the characters. I could see the overall story being good if it wasn't moving at a snails pace.

Southampton sucked the life out of you.
Episode 7 down.
Some part of the show has turned into torture porn, and I'm not feeling that. Cheap thrills.
On the other hand, that last scene with Elliott and the therapist was great.
Very conflicted. Sometimes very easy, sometimes quite sophisticated commentary...

Was Rewatching the pilot,
Elliot says he was forced to start seeing Krista. Probably attempted suicide, right? O wonder if that has anything to do with him not remembering. Obviously Elliot is fukt in the head and a but I'm really interested in seeing why he got forced to see Krista, suicide is the obvious options. In their session in the pilot she talks about him having delusions and seeing things. I'm excited to find out what exactly happened.
How many episodes are there for season one?

That episode was entirely about the reveal
I said earlier that I thought it would be lame to go with Mr Robot is fake angle, and still feel that way. The narrative would be far more interesting if the Dad was still alive. It opens up many more possibilities and interesting/difficult questions.
Instead, it's just fight club with 4th wall tapping. Now there must be some awkward reason to bring Mr Robot back in as a character. This could result in a television reality that continually shackles the narrative.

Ep 9's twist did feel a little cheap, still a lot of angles to explore going forward. The execution is still pretty well done as well.
Did they explain who started the fire at blank disc or was that a metaphor for Elliot getting more of his memory back?
Well that was another great episode. Even though the twist wasn't much of a twist anymore for most people (Team real on GAF lol) but the execution is key. They made it work.
Angela man. even when she wins she loses
this show man
and tyrell is king joffrey approved stronkchump. dude begged lmao

Didn't explain, but I assume it was China since the owner made it sound like they weren't supposed to be there.
Yeah all caught up to the most recent episode. Really liking this show a lot
I agree I would have preferred the dad to be alive and see where they could have gone with that. I like the character
and yeah this show definitely does not seem like a USA show considering it's current/past lineup of Suits, White Collar, covert affairs etc lol
