By toku Go To PostLove all three of these. What are you using?
The first one is from my canon t4i. The other two are Canon rebel 35mm with fujicolor natura 1600 film.
Both using the Canon 50mm 1.8
I bought a Nikon F2 with a Nikkor 1.4 50mm lens last week. Got my first roll scanned. I’ll post those tomorrow. They’re beautiful
the canon 1.8 and the its big boy 1.4 counterpart two of my favorite lenses ive ever worked with, nice!
Can't find a good low light camera for a reasonable price.
The shame I feel looking at the photos you guys take.

Buy a used t4i or even a t3i and then get a used nifty fifty
It's done. I bought a Fuji X100F. With a little bit of luck it arrives Wednesday before I leave for Portland.

^Probably my favorite newer lens.
What’s your budget on a camera? You can find a used canon t4i for around $300. Just google and shop around at amazon, eBay, or maybe keh.com
For low light shooting you just need a lens that opens up wide and a camera that can get you some alright ISO. I hardly shoot above 1600 with my t4i
Yeah, agreed with Apollo on the low light stuff, especially if you are only static scenes. This image was taken in extreme low light. Like, a full moon would give more light. There was also no flash used.
And these were the settings used for it:
e: if i was to take that picture again, i would lower the ISO quite a bit because that is way too bright
And these were the settings used for it:
- Camera: NIKON D3400
- Lens: 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 G VR
- Focal length: 18mm
- Aperture: f/3.5
- Shutter speed: 1/10 sec
- ISO sensitivity: 12,800

By reilo Go To PostKibner, whyIt was like my first time using the camera, ok? That was like six months ago and I had no idea about anything I was doing. But it still shows that you can take low-light pictures without breaking the bank.
By reilo Go To PostBut you could've posted anything else, but whyI didn't have any other working examples! Everything else has been well-lit.

Eh, first time back shooting in a long time and I am clearly out of practice and low on confidence. But it was basically a day to get to know my Fuji X100F and that thing is a blast. I just need to identify better locations to shoot and just be comfortable capturing people.

Got a roll developed today that are entirely of shots at 50mm. It’s starting to become my favourite focal length.
When I get home I will post some.

It’s the best for the streets. I’ll fight anyone that says otherwise
Went back shooting on Thursday, much happier with some of the pics I go this time:

Most of my favorites ended up being in black and white since I started messing around with that. The interior of de Young is beautiful but it doesn't really pop with color. However, I'm gonna do a pass on some of these to see if I can get a color out of them I'd enjoy.
I'm also still getting used to shooting with a range finder. You can tell from some of these that I lean right when I want it to be more head on. Oh well, things to take away.

Went to go hose some dirt off the carport when I saw this cute little caterpillar:
Only partially satisfied with this pic. Not sure what is throwing me off about it, but there is something that strikes me as "not right".

Try shooting it from a lower angle next time with the camera following it in the direction it's moving. Or head on with the pipe being aligned to the frame.
Had no idea Lightroom offered different crop tool overlays: http://www.uwphotographyguide.com/lightroom-tips-tricks-crop-overlay-tool
