this is depressing. he's part of the reason why I started gaming and am into Nintendo games
fucking cancer
fucking cancer
By Nobility Go To PostDamn, I had no idea his health was this bad.
yeah about last year he had a bile duct growth which was removed. from then on you could tell from the Nintendo directs he lost quite a bit of weight and looked generally unhealthy. guess it came back :(.......
Found this out 20 mins ago. Slowly realized I started crying for a moment. Then stopped. 5 mins ago, second round of crying had begun and ended.
Omg! Not a lot to say really. RIP Iwata.

What's crazy about his age is that he's been at Nintendo for three decades, bossing for a good number of those years, before being named CEO just over a decade ago.
Where were you at in life in your early 20's? I'm assuming none of us are on the path of running a multi billion dollar company by 40. Shit is crazy.

Legit sadden by the news. Seemed like the rare CEO that was really passionate about the individual fans. Saw this posted on GAF from a "Iwata Asks"
Iwata: When I first started making Kirby, there was a kindergarten right next door. I'll never forget how moved I was the first time I saw doodles there of Kirby. That may have been the first time I realized that the world would recognize what we had made.
Because of that feeling, Kirby is special to me.

RIP :(
I'll admit I wasn't the biggest fan of lots of his decisions as CEO, but he came off as a genuinely great guy who was passionate about Nintendo and gaming. And 55 is such a young age. Really, really sad.

Still in shock found out a bit ago and it's really just now starting to set in. This news just really sucks ass.
oh damn that is sad I knew he was ill but this is still so unexpected, don't know what to say
really liked him :/
RIP
really liked him :/
RIP
when he didn't go to E3 there had been rumours that his illness came back, but others insisted it was because Nintendo didn't have anything to show this year. I happily believed the latter explanation.
Now it's clear what was the case. What a sad day. RIP.

Now it's clear what was the case. What a sad day. RIP.
Still, I'm shocked. I hope Nintendo will keep doing what they do like they're doing as per games.
RIP Iwata. I think I'll buy a new game for my WiiU and play it today.

I'm sure being CEO they just said/did what he wanted to, and he probably just wanted the best for the company.
E3 was a month ago, he might've been already not well again.
Whatever, didn't want to criticize, I'm just shocked to see someone in the industry going. It must be hard to be CEO of a multi-billionaire corporation and still be loved by so many people, acting goofy in front of a camera, taking time to interview your workers about their games etc.
By Ricky Go To PostOh do I know.yeah man, even for Nintendo being so eccentric he was a special case there even. Truly a one of a kind individual. He made a lot of mistakes and even more successes but man he will not be forgotten.
