Need a third
Been focused on getting Salah in this game. Largely worked.
By n8 dogg Go To PostYou won’t be able to cope with Simms & Wright.
Well that's that. Brighton couldn't do it once Liverpool turned up the pressure.
Time for the big one.
Time for the big one.
Thank fuck for that
Rare match now where there are big positives to take from any result. Draw>>>City win>Arsenal win

By Plasma Go To PostI would have liked to have seen Martinelli start but I guess he isn't fit enough yet.Fresh Martinelli in the later stages? Arteta big brain.
Gapko. He's really regressed. Not sure if he offers anything other than his shooting inside the box. Very useless outside the box.
Slobster too. He's got a good shot on him.

By n8 dogg Go To PostThis is delusional.Great post n8, feel like I'm going insane here.
As per his instructions.
Chelsea are in the FA Cup semis. Tottenham with a new manager having lost their greatest ever player are well ahead of us. This is not the barometer for a successful season.
This game was the 41st time this season that was exposed.
This is Ten Hag’s plan. He obviously believes that players like Rashford and Bruno are of good enough individual quality to supersede any tactical instruction, hence why his gameplan is ‘cede lots of shots and hit them on the break’. Over 250 shots in the last dozen games at our goal. That’s absolutely fucking insane, and is not indicative of a lack of player quality, but a tactical set up.
You asked Scum ‘who would get in the Spurs side?’. That’s the wrong question. The only reason we are anywhere near fourth is BECAUSE our individual player quality is good enough. Look at our team versus Villa’s, or West Ham. Are you genuinely suggesting they have a squad of better players than us? Or do they have a more defined tactical set up?
Part of the reason why I believe this lot haven’t turned against Ten Hag is that he so obviously believes in their talents to win football games. If Conte was in charge, they would have revolted, because he is a systems man above all. But Ten Hag clearly tells them to go out there and win because they’re good players.
He said this last night: Many, though, would ask why United find themselves in such circumstances so often. They have conceded 254 shots in their past 12 games, but Ten Hag insisted that does not bother him. “As long as we get results, no.”
This is an insane thing for a top level coach to say - especially given that results over those twelve games include losses at home to Fulham, that City game, and now last night.
I always go back to Bielsa. Man had Phillips and fucking Luke Ayling playing one touch vertical possession football. Why can Ten Hag not do that with players better than Luke Ayling?
Postecoglou has Ben Davies playing in a possession-based team. Why can’t Ten Hag coach Dalot the same way?
Conte had Victor Moses become a fundamental part of a title winning side. Why can’t Ten Hag set his team up in a way that enables his signings - Casemiro, Antony, Hojlund - to thrive? What is the plan when it comes to those players? What tactical brilliance has he come up with that is being hindered by a lack of quality in the playing staff?
In fact, the only success I’ve seen this season is when he gives one of our ostensibly shitter players - McTom - carte blanche to careen forward like a hungry coyote let loose in a Pret, because that suggests there is some level of tactical thought given to McTominay’s profile and skills. And then he’s back to being asked to play in a pivot again for 88 minutes.
That’s not on McTominay. That’s on the manager asking him to do that.
Ten Hag has obviously decided that the way he wants to get results is coinflip football. Cede shots and hope Onana saves them or Maguire and Varane head them away. Cede midfield control and hope Casemiro and McTominay profit from a set piece. Cede sustained deliberate build up and hope Rashford or Bruno or Garnacho act on instinct and do something special. That is the plan every single fucking game, and we’re over 40 games into the season now, stuck on +0 GD, fluking our way into a FA semi with inshallah football and being dominated by the likes of Brentford and Everton because the man has proven himself incapable of coming up with a consistent and sensible tactical set up befitting of our wealth and status.
Szoboszlai was very good when he turned it back on around the hour mark. Unfortunately since he got injured in October I think, that first hour has been more indicative of his form.
He should be pressing and trying to get the ball forward as quickly as he can, recently he's just been letting games drift by and shooting before even looking for a pass.

So correct the record.

I would like to see how you look after spending time in Saliba’s pocket.
Arsenal being penned in but it doesn't feel like a City goal is definitely coming the way it would for basically any other team
By Meier Go To PostHe knows he can’t reach that ball. That was reckless. He did reach it though, he's an inch away from getting enough of a touch on it to cause Ortega a real problem
Ake going off is a huge blow.
You'd be livid if your player just let that roll through to the keeper.
