By Elliott Go To PostThe tree spirit? I have not! That'll be a task when I play again for sure. You should have access to everything down there by now! Maybe you missed a turn here or there?
I believe that's all the optional shardbearers done. Are there any other non-mandatory bosses that should be experienced? There's still a portion of the underground that's not been accessed, I noticed.
since you're planning to play NG+ anyway, don't worry too much about missing non-mandatory encounters/quests, if anything, it made my second run almost as fresh as the first one.
I've literally got to do seluvius' quest and 2 other NPC quests the opposing way in NG+ to plat the game. Thorough as fuck on the first playthrough in souls games, i am.
Remember DS2 required 3 actual runs and you couldn't save-scum the endings because a late game vendor had ng++ exclusive spells? Was so glad for the shrine of winter skip lol.

Apparently Ranni could kill/ditch you on multiple occasions lmao. And there was a reason Blaidd went missing mid quest 🤯
Rude Ranni is best Ranni

Yeah there's a looooooooooooot ive missed for sure lol.
Elden Ring ded game?
Anyway I bopped a trio of bosses in Leyndell today and all of them were pretty easy but at least they were decent fights. Nowt flash, just fights that didn't make me think From wishes colossal swords weren't a thing they put in the game. The Leyndell sewer area as a whole was so horrible tho lol. Just an absolute misery to navigate.
Time to go east into the last big part of the map. Maybe I'll finish this before May comes.

By Elliott Go To PostBLAIDD NOOOOOOOOOOO WHY 😭At least you get to cosplay as him for a while. Rip.
Zabo as usual I'm waiting for your review btw
remember when he didn't even show up to Nokron because he was suddenly sent away on an 'urgent mission'? Let's just say I found him in Darriwil's Evergaol and I needed fucking answers immediately. So, look forward to that moment lol

The more I play Elden Ring the less fun it gets, feel like From should just do a gigantic rebalancing patch in the future
I hate to admit it but yeah, I don't think it's as well designed as Bloodborne, Sekiro or even DS1

Tarnished Eater bugged out in my game so i miss out on her Great Knife and an Ancient Dragon stone ;_;

What needs rebalancing?
Some of these bosses seem designed around summons, like godskin duo. Its weird because there are many examples of From getting solo fights against groups right already (Bell Gargoyles, O&S and Sister Friede/Father Ariandel) so this regression in design is disappointing.
I'd say most enemies being able to kill you in 2-3 hits is priority 1, you can be level 50 and any random guy can kill you in a single combo, while you do pixel health despite having a +15 sword. That's also not getting into how every single attack can get you stunned without a chance to heal.
I feel this never happened in previous games, it was always more of a fair fight.

if you die in 2-3 hits and do pixel damage, did you ever consider that maybe you shouldn't be there/underleveled
If anything, they've been balancing builds, everyone is overpowered.

Honestly, the only duo fight I ever enjoyed was Sister Friede. It was easy to isolate the two of them and it didn't feel like you would get cheesed by off screen bullshit, as much. Gargoyles was kinda whatever. I didn't like O&S, at all. Godskin Duo is O&S with the faults of that fight exacerbated by 10.
I think the biggest issue is that, unless you're running a somber smith using weapon, it feels like you're kinda gated in terms of attack power. The regular weapons feel blocked by progression. Meanwhile, I can do some shit early...maybe a skip, and I'm endgame buff before I even look at the late game areas.

In my experience this is no different than any of their games. Was always being taken out in 2-3 hits.

Can't seem to get the parry window right :(
EDIT: he is dead.

It is done. I have become the Lord of the Frenzied Flame. Come look for me and see what you get, Melina.
Took me 125h, ended at level 165.
I don't have a whole lot to add to the discourse. Bloodborne remains the goat, but this is exactly the Dark Souls sequel I needed to find joy and excitement in the mainline series again. An absolutely incredible amount of content, phenomenal art direction throughout, consistently solid boss battles and a take on the open world formula I can get behind. A truly amazing achievement.
Still, after about 80 hours, which is actually kind of crazy, some of the seams definitely started showing. The cave dungeons got quite tiresome. I didn't mind the repeating mini bosses per se, as they almost always had a cool small twist to them, it's more about the general lack of surprises and exciting new things outside of the main areas. The eternal curse of huge open world games with curated content, I guess.
Some of it is on me though. I'll always prefer a more streamlined approach to rpgs and games in general. I'll take 20 very unique weapons over a 100 weapons with all-too-similar move sets (ashes are a great addition, but they really should've let you put them on special weapons). Same goes for stuff like consumables - too much choice, with benefits that aren't consequential enough, usually ends up having the opposite effect on me.
That's about it. I still don't like how From handle some aspects of side quests and NPC interactions, but I know better than to fight against windmills.
Time to check out all the endings and watch a couple of lore videos, after which Elden Ring shall be laid to rest. What a game.
Special thanks to Yurt for being a very considerate tipster and a sensational hype man.

big brain DiPro tried a troll build before NG+ and thought they would allow you to respec before you start.
now i have 10 Vigor for NG+. lmao. i made it to the boss that allows you to respec but i get one shotted by everything and can't even cast mimic because i have not enough health lol.

What level did ya'll finish the game at? I'm about to enter the erdtree at 120, which is where I would cap myself in other souls games.
<3 Zabo
I stopped at 125, but I knew I was underleveled because killing a few mobs was enough to level up lmaooo

Tweet I totally agree with "I love how Malenia's nude Goddess of Rot form isn't sexualised at all. Malenia is depicted as a formidable body with prosthetics, wings, a terrifying sword, and that's it: no curvy hips or big boobs or a tiny waist. She looks like a muscular warrior. sick."
The elden blob has been defeated and the age of stars has begun.
Became a boss rush by the end there, was hoping for one more traditional dungeon in between Godwyn and Radagon, but alas.
Videogames peaked with that Hoarah Loux reveal.
