By Righteous Furry Go To PostI think I may have gone too far into Caelid, normal soldiers can kill me in two hits and drop a thousand runesLiurnia definitely feels like a natural progression from Limgrave, difficulty wise.
Guess I should head into Liurna instead, especially since I haven't got any smithing stone (3)s
By n8 dogg Go To PostCheesed that HUGEEEEE dragon hard lolyou put her out of her misery tbh.
the other method is taking out her children right in front of her eyes which kills her slowly. You made the right choice
There was too many of those cunts.
Feel like I’ve done most of Caelid now except the top stuff in Dragonbarrow and Redmane Castle

haligtree might be the best looking environment FS has made. Shame I'm assuming most players won't see it.
that first area is really fucking annoying tho.
edit: just reached the brace wtf how big is this area

Yes I am! Last time i saw her I gave her the needle and she went to the shack to find the old man. Haven't seen her since.
I'd like to revert this now since I pledged myself to moon wife 😍

@yurt
Should I be doing Redmane Castle before Volcano Manor and Altus Plateau?
I’ve also got two different ways into VM - through that thing that got me at the wheel and through the lady with the letter. What’s the best way of doing it?

malenia down. pain in the ass, took almost 90 mins before I beat her.
Very cool boss though. idk how I feel about that one move.

For VM, I prefer the scenic route, west of Atlus. Items, hero grave dungeons, mini bosses...pretty cool. The invitation is essentially a skip to the dungeon
That swamp road leads there too!💪
Quest around in Atlus first after Redmane though
Radahn down on 2nd go. The castle itself is a bit underwhelming. Battle was good fun. Did it myself first time and got him down to 1/5 left then for the second one did all the summons for the banter.

Can I get the frenzied flame after commiting a cardinal sin? I've got Melania's needle to remove the frenzied flame as well.

By Elliott Go To PostIs that in Caelid? Also, I assume your talling about the prosthetic arm I found there.its the very first site of grace in Atlus after you take the lift up. And yes! Then Windmill Village (the boss' site of grace) –) Mountaintops of the Giants (Ancient S. Valley) —) the 2nd medallion area. You'll know what to do when you get there
IF you don't find her at the Erdtree-Gazing Hill then I assume you need to speak to Gowry again lol.
Feel very ready after 55 hours, even with what I assume is a lot of the game left, to call it a real solid 8.5/10. Game world is great, the combat is great as usual, the music, the aesthetics, etc. I’m still really enjoying myself and no doubt will put another hundred hours into it!
But plot wise it’s far more Dark Souls than Bloodborne/Sekiro in terms of stereotypical Western fantasy trappings, and arguably more esoteric than all of them put together. The sheer size of the map and amount of things to do means I’ve forgotten what NPCs are doing, what they mean, who they’re all connected to every time I bump into one. I still don’t understand why I’m doing what I’m doing. I think the creature and boss design suffers from just being ‘a part of this world’ rather than intrinsically linked to a more focused story like Bloodborne and Sekiro; for instance. Add to that the copy and paste nature of a fair few bosses, Tree Spirits and Avatars, and I think that it ends up suffering from open world fatigue, if not open world bloat. It’s a fantastic enough world that there isn’t too much to do; it just isn’t tied together with the same cohesion as the two games I keep mentioning above, which are probably two of my five favourite games ever.
The reason why Bloodborne was so memorable for me is because of its story, more than anything else. This is just nowhere near that for me.

That's fair really.
I get the Tree Spirits one, they guard the trees and its something more fun to do than just handing us free Golden Seeds when we get to a minor erdtree. They crammed in 170 bosses (!) lol, but I'm not too bothered by it because normally when they recycle one they add some new moves/weapons to them which they end up dropping.
yeah you've got a long way to go n8 :3

Seriously, thank god there's no inventory management/carry weight limits and durability. Would've been really annoying here

@Yurt: Out of curiosity does Millicent's quest directly lead to the Haligtree and Miquella? I picked up a note from before that connected him with the frenzy flame.

And kinda connected, as according to that note, you can undo it with the help of something you get there.😇
but to get to the Haligtree you need the second medallion. You'll get the second half soon no worries

Quite a few recycled bosses though, right? Erdtree avatars, tree spirits, crucible knights, cemetery shades, watchdogs, night’s calvarys…
Anyway, that isn’t as disappointing to me. Just feels like a lot of things don’t exist in as concrete a fashion as they did in BB/Succ

Back on the horse after taking a couple of days for real life. Beat Twin Gargoyles, currently exploring Deeprooth Depths.
What's even the point of the Minor Erdtree areas? When i first saw one I thought for sure there would be something cool there. But nope, for a map FULL of cool stuff, I really don't get the minor trees.

I might be confusing Ulcerated Tree Spirits and Erdtree Avatars. I was wrong. But it's not a lie.
