Playing through Horizon Zero Dawn (story mode, not got time to be fannying about with the mediocre combat) and, considering how many people say this game has a really good story... it doesn't. It could have been but some of the writing is distractingly bad. Last few missions have just been a huge exposition dump (really poorly done as well, the amount of dialogue that plays on top of other dialogue or cuts out as you move through the levels is amateurish) and the amount of times I've like... actually grimaced at some of the dialogue is crackers. Kept going because I did really want to see what was going on, then it got there and while it was fairly interesting, I hated how it was presented.
But man, for a five year old game it's still absolutely stunning. Apart from the humans. Everything else is absolutely beautiful and then all the humans look weird as fuck. Might play the sequel just to look at it, oh yeah. Hopefully that game will be more "don't just look at it, eat it" than this one.
