Xen was shite, but it's so easily ignored given its placement in the game that Half Life is miles better than Half Life 2
So is Opposing Force. Not Blue Shift tho.
Black Mesa just has a brilliant draw to it as a location, never really got grabbed by City 17. I'm just a sucker for blacksites and cover-ups I guess, more than I am for fascist dystopias and resistance networks at least.

I barely remember HL2, but the driving sections were mad annoying.

By Punished Go To PostAyy, first attempt and got Daddy Gascoigne down to about 20% with all my estus flasks left and he got me. I'm going to bed.Yeaaah the start is ROUGH lol an outright baptism by fire. 20%ing Gazza on your first attempt though, you're made for this
Saw cleaver, is that what it's called?

I rally didn't mine those parts of hl2. Great game, that gravity gun was fantastic.
Now hl1 had some shitty ass sections. Still awesome at the time, but nothing i would go back to. Black mesa fixed a lot of it though.
The GOAT however is Alyx.

Still remember the jets flying by as you exit the tunnel onto the cliff. Looks shyte now but back in the day that was incredible.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostIt is spectacular and that track is incredible. Gotta be one of the best boss battle songs in so long.
By EldritchTrapStar Go To PostStarted a new file on Divinity: Original Sin 2. I never beat it and I had zero idea where I was in my old file. Just made it out of the initial camp area. I forgot that fellas love to jump you. lmao. No such thing as a fair one, in this game.Took me far too long to accept that fighting honest in DOS2 is an automatic L

I loved divinity 2 … I remember thinking the game gets easier as you play. End game skills too buff. The fixed experience and way you acquire items and spells makes the start rough. The first was more guilty of this
i always burn out around the third act really. i think at that point, you kinda have your set build and the fun of progression kinda dissolves
By Punished Go To PostRoad Rage was fine but Hit And Run was a gem.
What a game. Made up for the lack of content by having still-good Simpsons writing
Kirby is great, me and my daughter are having a blast. It's criminal the kind of games that parents without Nintendo systems make their children play.
By Freewheelin Go To PostPlaying it at 30 on Switch has been horrible lolIt's a shame so many good games are stuck on such a weak hardware.
The most fun I've got from my Switch lately has been playing GB and GBA ROMs on it.
Can't wait to setup my PC so I can enjoy Switch games in good quality.

Had two good sessions of hell let loose, think i am #backonthetrain
Just wish it wasnt such a crashy and badly performing game. Could some company please throw some proper money at it.

Most big budget games never crash in my experience, but something like hell let loose is.... Just not very well optimized. There's a map that crashes instantly if you tab out for example (or was, i think they fixed it), and clicking the server browser freezes the game for like 20 seconds, while it loads in all the servers, with no chance of limiting what it searches for first or anything. It's just not a polished game at all. It's officially out of early access but in spirit it's still very much there.
Never seeing a game crash is impressive though, hell even my ps5 and switch have had game crashes, although it's rare.
I was gonna post something about gamepass but I don't wanna turn the next few pages into concern auditing lol
I'll jump into Torna finally after I'm done with Ghostwire/Stranger of Paradise, which is taking longer than expected because I'm still fucking around with new builds in ER...

This might be the worst era for PC gaming. Seems like every big game is a stuttering piece of shit on that platform

It's only unreal engine games. DX12 requires more elbow grease which predictably these studios don't put in.
Beat Father Gascoigne on my second attempt. Went to the back of the arena and he started attacking the gravestones I chucked an oil bomb over him, then about 6 Molotov's as he was hulking up. Fight over lol

Not even close.
Still way too many upsides for me to bother with anything multiplatform on consoles. The ps3/360 days though.... Yeah, that tested me with those parts.
Honestly thinking about it, I cant remember a better era other than maybe the late 90's, when RTS and Sim games were at their peak
It's weird how much shit gets talked about Elden Ring's PC version when the PS5 version drops so many fucking frames and so frequently, especially with bosses out in the world. Camera panning when riding Torrent... ugh.
I'm guessing this is about Ghostwire Tokyo or w/e... don't the only modes that hold 60 constantly tear? Tearing in 2022, just say no. The 30fps mode has framepacing issues too. But 30fps lol anyway.

Actually made it out of Fort Joy.
Ran up on the squad on the beach and just teleported the guy to my guys, and jumped him. Didn't need to hear that man talk.
The ship battle had me sweating, even if it was on a timer. Characters started casting FF's Doom on my units and I was getting shook for a little. I ended up really enjoying it.
As soon as I stepped foot on land, I see somebody get snatched up, by the void version of the bugs from Starship Troopers. Ain't no way.

Divinity becomes a different game once you embrace never letting enemies take turns without damage over time, never letting them attack, and dropping them in some form of fukkery by any means necessary.
Everything hits too fucking hard to play honest
