True Detective Season 2 Teaser Trailer
Hyped. Hopefully Taylor Kitsch doesn't drag this down, but this might be a good role for him.
Also, Rachel Macadams <3
Good trailer, didnt expect it to be so soon haha, was expecting Oct/Nov.
Loved the first season, hope it'll be as good.
Colin Farrell will be boss.
Vince Vaughn will be better than expected, so people will act like he's fantastic.
By dark_prinny Go To Post S1 raised the bar too high. I don't know.
Yep, and People really underestimate the fact woody and matthew are in real life good friends, who had chemistry together because they worked together a few times prior to True Detective..... All these extra characters who need screen time.... it seems like a recipe for a let down

Do you know if this season will be completely written by one writer (Nic Pizzolatto in the first season) and completely directed by a single director (Cary Fukunaga in the first season)? Because that's a major reason for the first season's quality. It doesn't hurt that Cary Fukunaga is an absolute beast of a director.
Nic Pizzolatto is still showrunner but each episode will not be directed by the same director. Fukunaga has moved on I believe, which is either going to bring a fresh new take to the show or be a letdown.
It can go either way, but knowing that some of the best TV shows of all time are consistently directed by different people -- from famous Hollywood A-list directors to nobodies -- without missing a beat shouldn't be too big of a concern.
This new season is in Los Angeles now right?
The Bayou locale in Lousianna of the first season was creepy as fuck. Added tons of atmosphere to the haunting theme, but fuck...I just didn't like it.

Became a bit too Scooby Doo by the end imo

The final few episodes were definitely disappointing. Lacked the tension and intrigue of the prior episodes.
Can't wait for this shit. Season 1 was some of the best TV ever.
Rachel McAdams is gorgeous, I'm skeptical about Vaughn in this.

The Tim Riggins renaissance starts right now. Well, it probably started with Lone Survivor, but I'm ready to embrace Kitsch again. I still maintain that guy is good and he's just made poor decisions with like Battleship and John Carter.
By Bungie Go To PostNice
Colin Farrell to bring the pseudophilosophical bollocks for season 2
Time is a flat circle wherein a thrift-shop Nietzsche delivers monologues in whatever the southern gothic-version of LA looks like.

I just don't think he has enough presence for a movie screen. TV is where he belongs.
