If you suspect an ACL, it's kinda not that hard to tell on physical exam prior to confirming in an MRI.

That acl gone
I hate it for our team but I’m glad I don’t have to root for him. Very unlikeable on court personality

By Adam Go To PostYeah, he'll never regain his status as an offensive force.
Sucks for Douchemarcus for sure.

By The Frankman Go To PostHe knocked knees with another dude, that's not a "rushed back from injury" thing. He tore his ACL and came back within 9 months, then tore his quad and then was back playing basketball a month later. He rushed.

For a dude his size to come back so soon was always unreasonable.
Just heard about Boogie.
Damn...
I guess he will never be the same after this.
Should have collected the bag. while he could. :(

By reilo Go To PostHe tore his ACL and came back within 9 months, then tore his quad and then was back playing basketball a month later. He rushed.I'm referring to the actual finishing blow though, it's not like he just randomly planted and it snapped. We've seen NBA athletes really push their bodies in the stress zone where the chance of injuries start to grow and they live in that area WAY more than they should. Boogie seemingly is having a lot of bad luck regardless of stress. Freakish ACL injury, then the quad. I can almost get why he came back after the quad (TITLE!!!), but I really hope he got good advice in the offseason afterwards.
EDIT:
How long does it take to repair a torn quad?Let's see, 4 months from the end of June is October...
Your surgeon will remove sutures or staples about two weeks after surgery. Complete recovery takes at least 4 months, but most repairs are almost completely healed within 6 months. It may take even longer to completely achieve strength training and range of motion goals
huhn... was this an informal workout or shootaround or something?
Playing in flip-flops on a busted ass CONCRETE court in hot-ass weather what is wrong with that dude
I remember seeing that video and just shaking my head. Dude was hooping in slides on concrete.
I can't wait for the video of his injury to come out where he was wearing house shoes at a Vegas 24 hour fitness.

……
I saw this video the other day and it didn't even hit me that this guy was still on the road to recovery from a 1st round playoff injury. Like wtf are you doing? I blame Draymond.
By Smokey Go To PostWarriors Culture is toxicDamn it, you're still salty.
You're right though.
Sucks. It's like his body is hitting compensation issues like a pinball machine now. Not that it was a non contact injury, but you see this stuff all the time where it's like a switch got flicked and suddenly a guy is just having a worst case scenario for every injury.
I'm not going to go after him for shooting stand still jumpshots on concrete. He's a few months removed from limited action in the finals anyway. I think this is just his body saying it's not capable of a pro schedule anymore.

There's nothing freakish about this.
By diehard Go To PostDamn that sucks. Speaking as a DMC "hater" this isn't how anyone wanted his career to end.As a DMC hater, how did you want his career to end?
... did DeMarcus think he was back in grade school or something? WTF he doing on a concrete court? Shit, we killing Embiid for doing pickup games on treated outdoor courts but dude wasn't ignoring off his own injury timeline.

Like I said, nothing "freaky" about that. Can't believe he was going full speed in a summer scrimmage like that :/
Yeah it’s over for him. Damn
By reilo Go To PostLike I said, nothing "freaky" about that. Can't believe he was going full speed in a summer scrimmage like that :/That’s full speed?
Full speed is any unsupervised activity in a 5-on-5 full court scrimmage while rehabbing from an injury. There's a reason any team doctor worth their salt has players do 1-on-1s first and escalate from there.
Trying to play basketball after an Achilles tear seems incredibly hard on your body.
What is Rudy Gay made out of that he managed to avoid getting injured after his Achilles tear. Is he just God.

Because none of these summer open runs are anything higher than 70% effort
