Is that a relative "not a disaster" to the Chris Evans era or a general "not a disaster" to quality TV?
Definitely not as bad as the Evans era. Probably about as good as one of the later seasons with Clarkson, Hammond and May which were serviceable. The new line up seemed OK but it was 1 episode and we'll need to see more from them to get a better idea.
By reilo Go To PostA lesser show would've had them bang at the finale, but Billions isn't a lesser show.
Glad we are back on Axe vs Chuck.
Yasssss bitch, I need Wendy to realise that's she should be taking axe's hammer....
Episode 5 of Chernobyl is stunning
Bit of a shame the series will be remembered for people straining to turn it into a meme generator in the absence of GoT.

I want to say the second any of them are persecuted for real their brains will implode
A whole life of such smooth sailing that not having your personal ideology portrayed as objective fact in 1 of the 45,000 streaming shows out this year makes you take to the streets

Not that I want to stick my oar in here but if you vote for God Emperor Laboured I guarantee that Christians and Lions will be a thing again.
One thing American Christianity takes for granted is the general absence of meaningful schisms due to its complete and total unification with GOP objectives. All it takes is a single Roe Vs. Wade and St. Bartholomew's Day massacres are forever off the table
So they have to spend all that unused energy on TV shows and shit

Not sure how much interest I can muster for this Top Gear. It's very blasé and lacks any sort of coherence or draw.
Came across this interesting article about all the upcoming Treks. http://trekcore.com/blog/2019/06/new-alex-kurtzman-star-trek-updates-picard-discovery-lower-decks-more/
Michael Giacchino directed an animated Short Trek is interesting.
Thinking about showrunners, interesting that a high profile person like Chabon is doing Picard. Hoping that stability helps Discovery too.

First ep of Legion was good. Kind of feels like they nerfed David, after last season he felt like a god so I'm surprised that he needs a time traveller.

By Cleff Go To PostStill need a proper look at Cavill as Geralt.
Gotham S5 finally went up on Netflix around here. I really love how the season starts, so glad they had the chance of doing this season.
“It’s going to be a tough year,” Stankey told Plepler. HBO’s tightly curated cluster of shows, released seasonally and in weekly batches, no longer amounted to a tenable strategy. “It’s not hours a week, and it’s not hours a month,” he said. “We need hours a day. You are competing with devices that sit in people’s hands that capture their attention every 15 minutes.” Ever more hours of overall watch-time were necessary to generate ever more data on viewing habits to help AT&T drive ever more lucrative “models of advertising” and subscriptions, Stankey declared. What was required of Plepler was a reconsidered network, “broad enough to make that happen,” as Stankey put it — because “we’ve got to make money at the end of the day, right?” When Plepler pointed out that HBO was already profitable, Stankey agreed, but then he added, “Just not enough.”https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/10/magazine/streaming-race-netflix-hbo-hulu-amazon.html

It picked up but geez. The first six episodes built up to it but who's got time for that
It's good now though. Great even.
