I remember when Treyarch first introduced vehicles to CoD multiplayer and then again tanks in WaW. People didn't like it. War has changed.
From Era
Figured this is the best thread to post this in: some Beta leaks from TheGamingRevolution, who has proven to be very reliable when it comes to CoD leaks and Modern Warfare in particular https://twitter.com/TheGamingRevoYT
Week 1 (PS4 exclusive) level cap will be level 10
Quick Fix (a previously leaked perk which was not in the build during the reveal) will not be in the Beta
PS4 pre-load on the 10th at 10am if you pre-ordered through the PlayStation Store, 11am if you did so at a retailer. He doesn't mention timezones but I'm assuming it's PST as that's the timezone CoD always uses
XB1 and PC pre-load on the 18th, same times as the PS4 pre-load
Level cap to be increased to level 20 on the 19th or 20th, will be increased to 30 on the 21st. 30 will be the max in the Beta
Multiple playlist updates throughout the Beta
Ground War (32v32) will only be available on the 21st through the 23rd
2x Weapon XP on select days so people can unlock attachments easier
"For weapon attachments: some require certain weapon level to equip, but for certain attachments once you have reached the required level, there will be an additional task to unlock, such as: “kill 50 enemies” so some attachments will have double unlocks"
Max party size of 6
No Specialist streaks and Specialist perks in the Beta
Beta will have 7-9 maps, 4 of those will be gunfight maps from the Alpha except for one. Main maps are Hackney Yard, Cave and Runner, the 10v10 map is called Raid and the 32v32 map is called Quarry. Aniyah Palace will NOT be in the Beta. There was also be 2 night variants
No Hardcore but there will be Tactical Realism. Lower health, no team-killing and some minor changes compared to Hardcore
By i can get you a toe Go To PostThe issue is the high level players have their own agenda on "what's fair" and it comes down to what favors their style of play. A lot of their style in Destiny is cheesing out or using things other players don't have access to. It's why I kind of loathe pinnacle weapons (you have to farm a "ranked"* playlist and win win win to get this shit). But basically the pvp game lately has been about catering to a style where actually having gunfights is rare and it's OHK shit soon as you spawn. People who had the time and patience to put nothing but super mods on their gear and masterwork out their weapons so fucking supers happen like 1:30 into the match, ugh. Dy and I joke about how shooting multiple bullets in Destiny PVP is now casual shit, instead you got people running around with grenade launchers, snipers, shot guns, supers that wipe out entire teams twice over, Ohk melees and grenades that chain lightning entire teams and kill multiple people. At some point it's like "why do I even have a gun what is this shit."
*it's not even pure rank either it's got some MMR bullshit in there and some fucked up matchmaking to rise people up the ranks
That’s not really what balancing around high level play is in the first place tbh, that’s going with the most vocal outcry of the playerbase regardless of balance.
Properly balancing isn’t just doing what the top 5% of players want, it’s looking at pick rates of weapons, attachments, abilities, characters, etc. Then also taking into account win/success rates, loss rates and so on. Taking into account as much data as possible from all those different aspects and making sensible adjustments from there.
If they’re not doing that and going by the data, they’re just throwing shit at a wall to see what sticks.

That much is obvious. Where it really breaks down is competitive isn't even on dedis so you get connection cheesing and flat out DDOSing. Then there's account recoveries or carrying just so a person can get the best shit to have the best shit. It's an overall shitshow. Then these people either go to the casual playlist and turn it into a sweat fest or they artificially hold others down trying to climb ranks in Competitive with their newly op fuckin' weapon. And Bungie continues to push this bullshit. It's why I don't even care there is a solo queue for competitive. It doesn't matter when you have a ladder that's not a true ladder and people fuckin' up what little bit exists of the ladder to grind the latest shiny OP gun.

tl;dr they couldn't give two fucks about balancing and only do some shit when Datto or someone says something is making PVE monotonous

I only have patience for Lono these days, if its not sanctimonious tools like that its self-promoting, Youtube algo eaters like Mtash and Mesa Sean.
Shocking stuff at the streamer level for that game.

Then they’re just not interested in the balancing aspect of the game. Embrace the fuckery, breh. That’s all you can do (or play something else)
This is why every game developer should look at how Icefrog balances Dota. It has been decades since it has been released, yet the game has evolved in such a way that it's better than ever.
He does change things around after certain metas, heroes are found to be too strong, but he also improves or nerfs heroes, items in response to how they are in pub games too.

Yeah, he fails at it a decent amount, but when you have like 95% of a 110+ character roster being viable (if situational) in the biggest tournament of the year, you are doing good. The game, more than ever, is about flexibility and adaptability with character, item, and role.

I'm running gears at 50-60 fps on near ultra on like a 5 year old build at 4k smh
By Wahabipapangus Go To PostAnd it will still look like trash. Amazingright? Hideous.
Oh, and he lets things sit for a while (as long as it isn't too ridiculous) to see if the player base can find an answer. There may be an OP character, item, or strat, but their reign is rarely longer than 2-3 months now.

I haven't actually heard many opinions from gladd. He's usually just like "watch me beat hard thing lul." But Datto is really aggressive in his annoyance with one phasing content.
The balancing of Csgo is hilarious. For yesrs both pro and casual players have refused to use the AUG or SG. They then got cut in price down to only slightly more expensive than the ak and M4, and boom, everyone used them and realized they were over powered as fuck.
Everyone cried about that then, the AUG had its price increased and accuracy/fire rate reduced, but people still think it's the better gun, after years of not using it when it was much better.
Also once every year or so, valve will do something terrible. Like introducing that revolver, which was better than pretty much any weapon in the game, for a weeks time.

I had the time to get some shit and get together some gear so I can live and not get flinched out. The issue is they pretend to give a fuck about balance at times. I'd rather them just admit Destiny 2 pvp been neglected save for when it has to be pointed out that something is so broken they can't ignore it or when Datto et al decided to pipe up about some shit.
I think Mtash was the one trying to make sidearms a thing. lol.

It pains me to see more games are following the LoL route of making classes more rigid. Overwatch's meta is stale as fuck and their response to it was to create role queue where you can only use certain characters for the role you want to play.
Mtashed is a clown. Dude really put out a video about how increased weapon range may not be worth it it if the cost is higher zoom in 😂
I can't believe Gears 5 only has around 15k viewers on Twitch. Even Greedfall currently has 44k at the moment.

Not all games are stream-friendly, something about crouch-running from chest-high wall to chest-high wall just doenst make for great entertainment.
Yeah, people watching letsplays for the story with their favorite streamers more than anything.
That gameplay is just.... naw. It's not even one of those where you know it's fun even if it doesn't look like it either.

and they'd rather play solo anyways

I know what you’re saying, m8. I’m just adding to this by pointing out that what they seem to be doing in terms of balancing isn’t really balancing the game for high level play. At least not from what I’ve gathered from what you’ve told me. They’re just listening to who’s loudest, and not going with what would actually make sense to make the game fair to play for the top 5%.
If they did, then it’d be fair and balanced for the other 95% too, at least for the most part.
Some examples have been pointed out already, DOTAII, CS:GO. So with that in mind I’ll point out how Siege was unbalanced in one aspect and later corrected.
Very early on, DLC operators were released in completely overpowered states. A key example was Blackbeard, an operator released in the second season of year one.
Blackbeard was released with a rifle mounted headshield that blocked any headshots from the front on and could absorb 800 points of damage before breaking. Coupled with a choice between two strong guns. It seemed like Ubisoft released this operator so broken solely to push season pass sales.
The reception to it was a very vocal outcry from the pro community and mostly just seen as an annoyance by most lower tier players. Reason being, the best players aimed for headshots, whereas lower tier players with worse aim went for body shots. The shield only blocked headshots so lower tier players felt less disadvantaged playing against it.
Compounding this issue was the fact the pro players understood how to best leverage the strength of Blackbeard, by getting into power positions and only exposing their head/shield they were practically unkillable in 1v1 and even many 1vX situations.
Over time, Ubisoft took this absolutely broken operator and with multiple nerfs worked the gadget into an acceptable state for both competitive and non competitive players alike.
The shield went to 150HP first, with a second shield added to his kit. This was still too strong, noticed prominently in a league game on the map clubhouse during the season 3 finals.
Blackbeard was picked every round, and every round the defence from either team could not win against an attacking team with Blackbeard.
From there, the shield was further nerfed down to 60HP which it still stands at today. His pick rate dropped from 90+ percent down to near 30%, and his win rate levelled out.
The reaction from the more casual players was very vocal, that the operator was now too weak. The pro community were still adamant that he was still too strong.
The truth was in middle and represented by the data, acceptably balanced with a reasonable pick and win rate. Over time becoming a situational pick as even more operators were added and tweaked that could fulfill the same role but differently in the overall team composition.

It's mostly the voice acting that's the problem.
Man, TLOU was my game of the last generation,
It pains me admit that I never wanted a sequel and TLOU part 2 just seems uninteresting to me. I am still hyped but man, not as hyped as I should be. Was really hoping for a fresh new IP from ND, as much as I loved TLL, this studio has slowly been disappearing up its own asshole over the last few years.

Wonder what the other Sony event that week could be. Ghost of Tsushima?
Probably too late for a new game announcement. Seems too early for PS5 info too.
