Hawley: Cross play and cross progression are something we've learned a lot about in the last couple of years, particularly looking at our other game Hearthstone, which has multiplatform support. We don't have anything specific to talk about today, other than say there are business and technical challenges to getting all that to work correctly. Gears 4 is basically a different game compared to this. On normal, you don't even need to take cover there. You're just wrecking dudes. Here, you get punished if you're not playing well and constantly using Jack. When I figured out that I need to constantly cycle his powers and have him always on the move, I started to do better.

Same. I didn't really, "get it," until later than I should have. It feels like the game was designed for Nomad, in Crysis 1, but the power usage is much stricter than Crysis 2...if that makes sense. Honestly, rightfully so. I think it could have been tuned a little better, but I found the two powers, that when used in tandem, were destructive af. If the cooldowns weren't so long, you could break every engagement, so long as it didn't have umpteen ultra strong dudes. I don't know where you're at, or how you feel about it, so I'll spoiler them.
Invisibility (with the stealth kill extension) and mind control are OD.I don't know if they'll work in higher difficulties, but here? Whewwwwwwww. Used them like crutches. Nothing else compared.

I'm playing solo, on insanity difficulty, and for as good as the game is, the AI partner is beyond not useful. It is making the stupidest of decisions. It's annoying how bad it's decision making skills are.

I'm still early. I was trying to work on a video, after my initial playthrough, so I skipped to act 2 (and well, I don't care about JD, in the slightest).
At this point, there hasn't been any scenario that felt truly impossible to deal with. Took me a while on some missions (mainly side missions) tho. I did die a often, but figured things out and got past my roadblocks.
RNG is abundant and you can die from harsh language and blank stares...,sooo maybe later on in the game. I already know of a couple of spots that were not pleasant , on "normal."
If I recall there's a bit in Uncharted 4 where you'll literally get shot twice in the back and die before you can even take control for long enough to dodge, so you basically have to wait until you get lucky.
Then there's the QTE after the train boss in Uncharted 2 which is legit the angriest I've ever been playing a game. Button prompts legit seemed to last about a quarter of a second, instant failure if you get it wrong or press it before it's on screen, and the fight beforehand is difficult. Must have got to the QTE about once every ten tries, and taken about 15 goes to get the QTE right.
I was never as much of a QTE-sequence detractor as a lot of people were and are, but I'm glad they've massively taken a backseat

Why did Ubisoft never re-release Splinter Cell:Blacklist on PS4/Xbox One? Came out three months before the PS4, which surely made it a prime candidate given that it was caught in the end of generation enthusiasm shift.
I could go into more detail but unless you are using it heavily, that PC will probably live for many more years (other than the storage).

There are some other solutions out there ranging from simple things like suspending the game process in resource monitor to scripts like "universal pause button" that people have made to try to emulate some of the resume features of consoles.

The checkpoints in Gears 5 are bugged. I've lost progress three different times. The first two I was lucky, but I just now lost 20 minutes. More than a little frustrating.
