Control was so fun to play, I actually quite liked the gunplay in particular and the narrative was solid, lots of nonsense that somehow made perfect sense lol. I didn't mind not having lots of powers, I don't wanna play infamous 2.0, it was mostly about the gun, which had more than enough options and upgrades throughout the campaign.
The last stretch was a bit weak. Maybe they needed a bit more variety in encounters, npcs (not many were super interesting) and boss fights. And aside from the maze, it didn't dive as deep as I wanted it to down the rabbit hole.
but I guess they can in the two DLCs.

Sunset Overdrive is actually, not bad? Like it's pretty fun, liking the art style a lot more in motion than in screen shots. Feels like the kind of open world game I would've played the fuck out of on the PS2 back when I was a kid.
Was looking for something to play until 2k and Gears, after beating Control. Decided on Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Haven't played it since Oct 2018 and only at level 7. So I started over. 15hrs into it now and literally feels like I haven't accomplished anything. Game is yhugeeeeeeeeeee, tf. The DLCs are supposedly really good too.

I've still got side quests and optional bosses but not sure when I'll get back to them with Gears, 2k, and now AC:O in rotation. Solid game, though. And weird af.

Watch some single player gameplay of Gears 5. It looks ok. Fantastic IQ but the cinematography of the cutscenes is pretty basic.
The way Gears 5 transitions from cutscene to gameplay is ridiculous. It's pretty easily the best looking Xbox One game.

The writing in the original Gears trilogy is pretty poor. The world Epic built was neat, but the story didn't make all that much sense unless you read all the novels and it was handled with about as much subtlety as a hammer to the face. Stuff like Maria's death, Dom sacrificing himself, it's not great.

By s y ngmi Go To Posti thought forza horizon 4 was 60fps?There's a 1080/60 option on the X and it's okay? It runs at medium settings with no anti aliasing or anything. It's definitely not nearly as good looking as the 4k/30 setting.
