Sounds like that CP2077 video was being played with RT enabled. I suspect that shadows are being done by RT much like the recent Tomb Raider. It's not reflections as they're defo SSR.
Edit: RTX is only used for Diffuse Indirect Lighting.

I think it is part of the suite of effects you'd want from GI? But I don't think it's the same as full fat RT GI.

Yeah. Control uses indirect diffused lighting for when the rays hit a surface, the stuff around it is also lit. That would make sense for Cyberpunk giving the aesthetic it's going for.
IDL is great for transforming the colour of a scene by propagating the colour of the object it bounces off. Looked amazing in Metro.

Is he? Last I saw he didn't have a good PC for games. Or maybe that was he didnt have a PS4 Pro.
I'd expect he has deals now with pubs and they give him hardware to display their games on. He ain't doing this shit for free anymore.
It really is a pity that Control has last gen level animation, which is jarring given the ray tracing graphics.

By Flutter Go To PostIt really is a pity that Control has last gen level animation, which is jarring given the ray tracing graphics.the jumping animations are terrible. If you jump while holding an object, there's literally no animation.
I laughed a bit when a cutscene has a door automatically open rather than the characters going for the handle.
Still a fun game though, but I had to stop because I couldnt stand the head close ups during monologues. Will continue in a few months or so.

In the U.S., there’s very low probability anybody passes legislation to regulate loot boxes. The guys in Hawaii are just fucking morons. They’re morons. They should not only resign, but they should kill themselves. They’re so idiotic. Seriously. They’re such morons."
Ya'll invite Pacther to the site, he's our kind of people

Doing the highest possible end animation still seems to be a thing that being smart is not enough to conquer. You either need to gear you entire project's budget towards it as a priority (SC: Blacklist is a great example of this as the game director was primarily an animator) or you just need the most obscene budget for animation (e.g. RDR2 / Star Citizen / TLOU2).

It does things that it wants to do well, really well.

this dreams clip below is better animated than the main character's gameplay movements in control
control characters runs like the floor is ice

picture looks too soft
Renderer is extraordinarily PP heavy. Tonnes of motion blur too.
Incredible that motion blur is the first thing pc users turn off but developers continue to punish console users with it.
By s y ngmi Go To PostBoy I love some good motion blur like in the new COD.
Some of the best gun anim I've seen tbf.
Was trying out MegaMan.EXE for a couple minutes online. Really, really like megaman's design, animations and look of the game. Was scared for a second that it was a turnbased rpg(blegh), thankfully I was wrong. Is this gonna be in that collection in January?
edit: nope.

Finished Kiwami 2. I really liked the battle theme at first.. then I realized it plays for EVERY non-story fight. Oath of Enma still the king
Anyways I was trying to listen in on the Creative Assembly lads on the train to work this week but apparently nothing exciting is happening. They're ramping up on their Elysium title which is a Hearthstone thing that they've been working on for like 5 years.
I think there's a bigger FPS product happening but they're still not any where near showing it since they can't even tutorial through the early levels yet.
