As Kait journeys across Sera to unearth the truth about her origins, you'll travel across expansive open-world hubs that represent some of the largest Gears of War areas to date. A sail-driven Skiff (which handles very nicely) is your primary mode of transport, complete with the ability to store heavy weapons for later use. We experienced two biomes for Gears 5, one in the ice-blasted wastes surrounding Mount Kadar and New Hope, and another in the red sands of former UIR territory.
We were told that The Coalition expects a player skipping side quests and exploration could get through the campaign in around 12 hours, while those who dabble would see 20 plus. A completionist might find even more to uncover. In addition to story collectibles like text logs and data files, there are also unique "Relic" weapons to uncover, which have unique properties. One Relic weapon we found was a Boltok pistol designed for hip firing, gunslinger style.I need this now.

After GoW Ascension, that type of franchise change it went through was needed. A lot of people agreed with the change 🤷♂️

Dy always talks shit about combat but the games he likes usually have god awful combat like Tales or grandpa turn based combat which is better played on a calculator, so I don't know what the perspective is. Even with Sy I know that he likes DMC type combat for adderall focused gamers.

Watching the DF Control video really does a good job of putting it in perspective. What a time. When I was walking around and playing through it it's really wild how "right" everything looks with the lighting. Bless u Remedy. Can't wait for this to become standard.

It's not bad. It's not great and can be further fleshed out but it's quite the welcome change. Storytelling and progression has been ace.

By Bold 2 in One Go To PostGod of War's combat ranged from Excellent to to good depending on the encounter.I was telling people for months that it was just resident evil combat. That entire scheme has been limited for over a decade now. The only obstacles they could even introduce to keep things shifting the player around was the camera and trash stagger animations.
All the stranger stuff was just anime shit for people who had never been introduced to it before. Presentation goes a long, long way but GoW was remarkably bland.

RPG mechanics and open world elements for those that want to engage with them, but they can be ignored and you don't lose out if you don't level up Jack or complete all the side quests. Rod is untouchable.
