From what I've seen on a stream, the bullet sponge enemies and backtracking are going to drive some people crazy. It'll be a good game to get when it's $20 and they've patched a bunch of QOL features in.

Only thing reviews are good for are performance metrics. Everything else you can get from previews or user impressions.
