Im interested.
By diehard Go To Postjust pulled the triggerAbsolutely sensational. Welcome to the 21:9 masterer race.
I've been looking at that LG as well, thinking whether I could justify upgrading from my X34A, but spending 500-600€ to gain 44hz just isn't worth it.
I remember when I thought for sure we'd be getting OLED monitors in a couple of years. I was so young and naive then.

Laptop update. Swerved the custom models entirely, went with an Asus Zepherus GA502.
120hz/1080p screen, 1660Ti MaxQ, Ryzen 3750H (quad core with SMT), 16Gb of RAM, 512Gb SSD.
Not the greatest specs, but shit it’ll play GTA without much issue and only cost £900.
I get they cut the price by going with the AMD CPU, but I can’t see it bottlenecking a 1660Ti MaxQ too badly unless playing on lowest settings.
Got it today, packaging is nice. Setting it up was pretty hassle free, not much bloat installed on it.
Looks-wise, it’s good. White backlit keyboard. All matte plastic on the inside and brushed aluminium on the back of the screen. Only downside is the ROG logo on the back, but it’s not too obnoxious. Overall it’s pretty minimalistic.

I have one sticthced into all of my suit jackets. My clients and my opponents know to fear and respect me.

Also because most manufactured gaming laptops are UGLY. Only a few like that Zepherus, Razer Blades and Lenovo's Y540 didnt look like an teenage edgelord's dream.

The MSI GS65 Stealth was a strong contender too, looks-wise. The single channel RAM and challenge of disassembly put me off it though. Otherwise seemed a sound buy.
I can definitely see the criticism for the WIFI card in the Zephyrus, but the screen honestly looks fine to me? So many reviews had it down as a negative, but having it side by side my X27 and watching the same video back on both, like I’m not seeing why it’s supposed to be so bad?
The WiFi though, meh. Download speed is fine at first but it dips a lot and even just drops connection for a few seconds at a time. It’s less than 5 feet from the router too, like fuck that’s appalling. Only £16 for an upgrade though, can’t complain too much. That and an extra 1Tb NVMe (SATA M.2s apparently aren’t compatible?!) and I reckon she’ll be set with this thing for a good few years.
Not as loud as I was anticipating it to be btw. Definitely is loud af while playing a game, just not as high pitched or obnoxious as I was expecting for a thin and light laptop. I’ve had louder GPUs for instance.

Remember how I was planning on building a new PC a week ago?

Phanteks came out with a revision of their P400 case, called the P400A and P400A-D (has RGB). The only real difference? Replacing the sealed front with a mesh front. It went from being a bad case to actually quite a good one: https://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/3511-phanteks-p400a-digital-rgb-case-review-airflow-mesh-panel-testing
I just wanna say, Argus Monitor is fucking GOAT software. My CPU temps are all over the place at idle/low load. which caused the pump speed to vary by a few percent. Like 20% is silent, but 21% is noticeable. Jumping up between 20% and 23% is irritating af on my ears.
Quick look in the curve settings and I can change the pump control from exact temp to average temp over 10 seconds.
Issue resolved, no more annoying variance in speed/noise.

if i press on the screen underneath the line, the pixel s go frrom black to green.. which makes me think it was damaged in shipping.
After selling my 1080 on ebay, I'm throwing on all my other hardware alying around. 9600K on there now along with Silverstone AR11. Should've flipped all this shit months ago, but alas.
Will be selling my DAN Case V2 on there at some point too.

The concept is great, but not $5000 great. And they're just about irrelevant with the news that gsync will be coming to OLEDs later this year.
From what I was reading a few weeks ago, it can reduce the input lag by up to, like, a single frame. More useful the less fps you are running

Did you watch the video? It only really works at 100% GPU load, it otherwise adds latency compared to just turning it off and running with a capped FPS.
By HottestVapes Go To PostDid you watch the video? It only really works at 100% GPU load, it otherwise adds latency compared to just turning it off and running with a capped FPS.I did now. And yeah, I knew it only works with maxed out GPU usage. I think I wrote about that when I first posted about the feature.
What is new to me in this video is that just making sure your GPU never maxes out ensures you have lower input lag even if you can run the game at double the fps when maxing out the GPU.
I will, however, have to use RTSS to find and limit my max fps for all the games I play to get that lower input lag and more consistent frametimes:

I'll probably go with just capping certain games. I can get a completely solid 120fps in Siege, but capping the FPS to 117 and enabling GSync just makes the game look slightly jittery to me compared to running at 200+ with no sync enabled. Even though my monitor is only set to 120hz, it just looks smoother at a higher FPS.

Especially since it seems like it will be a good bit of work to find a stable fps for games.
e: also, that tiny build is wild!
What is it about selling a CPU on eBay that brings out all the bad weapons messaging me to end the auction at a quarter of the selling price?

Best bit is, after I cancelled his bid I found out the most he was going to pay was £90 anyway. Fucking pauper.

Been considering a new mouse for a little while now. I've been super fucking happy with the G305, but with all the light mice out nowadays, decided it was time to go back to wired.
Was close to buying the Coolermaster MM710 earlier today, then I just checked OCUK and the Model O- is in stock so went with that one. Partially because Woonen has gushed over his Model O, and partly because I a have the GMMK keyboard already and it's a 10/10.
