I give up. I can't make my system work with the settings the DRAM Calculator for Ryzen gives me. Even after slowly going through each of the alternative values, one by one. I even followed this guide as best as I could: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-memory-tweaking-overclocking-guide/5.html
I'm either not doing right or something in my system is limiting me. I'll just have to live with 2933 at 14-14-14-35 timings, I guess.

Could be the IMC? Or the virtualisation thing you’ve got running
By HottestVapes Go To PostCould be the IMC? Or the virtualisation thing you’ve got runningI dunno. I can't even use the safe settings at 2933 that the calculator gives. My bios just refuses to post when I do that. lol
I'm trying out putting every setting except the actual timings (and voltages) at what the calc tells me. I was able to boot into Windows and am now running the test recommended in that tutorial link I posted previously. Takes about eight minutes to run.
Will try adding the voltages one at a time once this test passes.

I'm calling it on the virtualisation. I'm not really at all familiar with what it is or what it does, but if it's limiting your CPU clockspeed like you mentioned earlier, then I can see the potential for it limiting your memory clockspeed too given the IMC is on the CPU. Plus the the CPU's infinity fabric is closely linked with the memory clockspeed. In my completely unprofessional experience, that makes complete sense.

I was able to fuck around and lower the various voltages to the minimum required for 2933. That at least gives me a base to start with when trying to increase the frequency.
Still in the process of testing and verifying, but I was able to get my ram to pass one stability check at 3200 with 16-16-16-16-36 timings.
I ended up fucking around with the termination and cad bus block settings until I could get my machine to run a stability test without crashing at 3533. It failed the stability check and nothing I could do would get it to work, so I went back and set my dram and soc voltages to auto and just went down the frequency list until I could get one to run a stability test using the loose 3533 timings without an error.
3200 was that frequency. So, now I'm just tightening up the timings before running a separate stability test for an hour.

Ran LinX for an hour at 3200 with 14-14-14-14-28 timings for an hour with no errors. I declare this stable enough.

Ayo that’s tight as fuck. What RAM kit do you have? Mine are 3200mhz/14-14-14-31 but never bothered to tweak them. Couldn’t run them at that speed on the Ryzen 1600 either

I’d be happy with that, they’re great timings and given it’s a 4 DIMM kit, it’s a lot more taxing on the IMC than a standard 2 DIMM kit.

That counts as small form factor. You're a convert now, mate. Starter pack is in the post.
The game one Sennheiser headset is the absolutely best gaming headset I've had, so yeah I'm pretty interested in this one. They're usually pretty expensive but better than the other gamer branded crap

I had their 363D years ago and it was awesome..moved away from it as wireless started gaining more and more traction.
Them making a wireless gaming headset pleases me.
A fine stereo headset plus a nice mic on a boom plugged into an interface is the Slaent elite configuration.

K712 and a modmic does it for me. Ain't going near another gaming headset.

I do kind of missing the convenience of wireless though. It's just not worth the drop in quality and comfort.
If a reliable wireless 60% keyboard comes out though, I'll be all over it like a bad rash. Need to upgrade from this Anne Pro V1.

I must've sent at least 20 tweets to Logitech begging them for a tenkeyless G613 successor.
Any day now, I can feel it.

So, if you update your mobo bios with one that adds support for Ryzen 3000, you are unable to downgrade back to a non-Ryzen 3000 supported firmware. Unless you use a special software. For MSI boards: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=302638.0
This is relevant because I had flashed to the newest version my mobo offers. It resulted in either Windows Application Guard not able to be installed or in decreased performance. I had to downgrade to the previous version in order to get both working again
smh @ both amd and msi

On the bright side, I benchmarked my machine a few times with cinebench r20 and confirmed that undervolting by 0.05 gives me the best performance for my rig. I ran the benchmark three times at every voltage until my performance started decreasing. The average of my best three was 4053 with the highest being 4067. Pretty happy with that.

By Kibner Go To PostModMic makes Wireless mics now. Vapes has one, iirc.Aye, it's good quality too. Just pair it with headphones that have a flat surface on the ear cups. the K712's are super rounded, so it's a bit of a pain getting the 3M sticky pad to hold on to it once the weight of the mic is clipped to it.
So...after a bios update, my PC only turns on to a Windows Recovery screen. I have gotten a blue screen before but this time the recovery will hopefully be painless since I have USB recovery stick. It just sucks. Why would HP recommend me to update if it was going to mess up my computer like this?

Getting so tired of waiting for 3900x to get in stock fucking anywhere around here, that i might just buy a 9900k. At least I can get those.

$250 tho

Fuck RBG on a wireless keyboard. Haven't missed lighting (of any kind) at all.
Only two complaints I have about the G613 is that it's too big and quite ugly. A wireless G Pro keyboard would fix both these issues. Alas.
