It’s probably the exact same front panel that InWin used. ATX case design is so fucking stale outside of Coolermaster trying weird shit once a year.

Pretty cool how they send you the parts so you can take pictures before they put it together for you.

Delid + liquid metal is a god-tier cooling upgrade. Dropped at least 20 degrees Celsius under load.
Can put 1.425 volts into my 8700k and still not thermal throttle. I can't seem to get 5.1 GHz to be stable though :/

Asus used the smallest, strippable screws possible on the M.2 heatsink cover. Now I have to go out and get a screwdriver specifically for this smh. Seems to be a common complaint from others with this board too...
Had to return the board to Microcenter. Went to the PC section asked them to take a look at this. They tried to unscrew the m2 cover with their own tools, and same result. The screws do not move and you end up stripping them.
They got another off the shelf and we tried that one and it came undone as expected. Did a straight exchange, in and out.
Never anything like that before. If I would've bought that online and had to send it back to Newegg and wait for the turnaround, I'd be pissed.

too cheap heh
I'll have to show my wife that one, might be the first time I've heard that m8
Lazy, maybe? I know I'm guilty of the same, lol. I did buy finally buy a nice precision driver kit some time back tho. Well worth it.
I just never thought to get one lol
Got the fans in. Got the ram in. PSU. Got Corsair H115, commander pro, and GPU left.
Seasonic PSU packaging is so good
The unit and cables come in these black sleeved bags. The smell is incredible lads.
One thing I didn't take into account is the bottom of the inside of my case. That's where my HDD was but it's gone now. So that's just open. May put 2 additional fans down there. And I have the front 5.25 bays open. That's where my fan controller and ASUS readout LCD screen were.

I have had no complaints about the iFixIt tools. They aren't premium, but they are more than good enough for people who don't make a living building/repairing machines.

Might not be for you, but I reckon something like that would suit your harware nicely. Could use the extra fans you bought for a push/pull on the rad.

I was looking hard at the Lian Like PC011D, but held off because a revision is coming in the spring. Looking at pics it clearly has the space to handle all of the stuff of a modern build.
I'm definitely going to have to get a new case. It's clear this 540 that came out 4 years ago is struggling with all of this stuff, even tho I have LESS hardware. Like I'm having to really look for a spot for the Commander pro and there's just really no good place for it.

Got everything a bit more dialed in. Got Windows updated. Ran XMP on my RAM and it took, so that's now at 3600. Updated the BIOS. Got the Corsair products synced up and the Commander Pro configured for my case fans to run at 750 RPM each. Things look much better now that I've adjusted settings in icue. Haven't OC'd the CPU yet. The RAM really is spectacular lol. The crystal effect is pretty cool.
Everything eventually fit. It's a mess in the second chamber behind the board. I ended up mounting the Commander pro on the floor of the second chamber.
I'd like to clean up the cables. Right now I am using 2x 6+2 PCIE connections that have an additional 6+2 connection at the end. Right now I'm not using that additional connection, but rather running a separate PCIE connection from the PSU so I'm not potentially splitting power. The result are the unused 6+2 connections sort of dangling around, but I'll get them at least bundled together. Ideally I'd like to order some cables where each connection on the GPU gets a 1:1 PSU cable.

By Dark PhaZe Go To Postis this a completely new build smokey
Yeah
Well except for the 2080ti and one SSD that I brought over.
Did hit a snag tho.
Since this is a new mobo, windows is not activating. Called up MS and they need the Windows 7 code from way back in fuking 2011.
I bought W7 Home Premium back then, then did the free upgrade to W10. Would that have updated me to Win 10 Pro or Home? I cannot remember. I just did a fresh install again and this time chose W10 Home to see if it made a difference, and it did not.
Really not trying to purchase W10 outright .

By LFMartins86 Go To PostI might have an unused Win 10 Pro Key if you want to try it.
I'd appreciate it !
Sent you a PM. I am not completely sure it works as I got it a long while a go and I think I ended up not using but it's worth a try.

Much appreciated, thank you

By Smokey Go To PostDamnNow it’s time for some 4K Apex with the Slaent fams
Shit feels smooth af with the 9900k and associated RAM. Is this what modern feels like
My corsair icue dash. shelved logitech and hooked up all my corsair stuff to see what it'd look like with the fans. i
RAM is set at 50% brightness in these pics lol
Build was fun. Scratched the itch good. Going to order some cable mods and combs so that i can clean up the gpu area. I like Seasonic's PSUs, but their cables are stiff af.
By Rob Go To Postthat looks sexy af
Donald trump RAM almost fucks it up
The RAM is so ridiculous, it's good lol. It's the highlight of the build. There's 8 LEDs per stick, you can get pretty wild with the combos. Messing around earlier:
There's nothing else like it on the market, which is why I had to include it when it came time for my build :p
Played some more and I really don't have any complaints about performance. Yeah I had a 2080Ti before, but on this setup it plays so much smoother. No hiccups or hitching. Seems my GPU also holds a higher OC with this PSU, which I shouldn't be too surprised about I guess, it seemed like my 4 year old 1300w PSU I was using did have some issues. You are more GPU bound at 4k, but clearly the CPU is helping out way more than my old as 4930k ever did.

Could be the new fans cooling the GPU better, and that’s giving you a more consistent boost clock
