By toku Go To PostGo for a long walk instead if those are your only choices.Funny you should mention that. I've been training hard over the past 3 weeks, tomorrow is my all-inclusive cheat day. Gonna stop at the cinema and later eat the most decadent shit I can find. Long walks can fuck off.
Just pick one m8s.

it has Jeff Goldblum apparently
Grabbed Kiki's Delivery Service and Castle in the Sky on BR over the weekend. Kiki is basically Pleasant Experience: The Film. Wonderful movie and a perfect watch after a long week or if you're feeling down. Castle in the Sky is excellent. Only complaint is the villain being blatantly evil unlike most Ghibli antagonists. Thinking about picking up Ponyo and Porco Rosso next.
Just seen OLDBOY in the cinema, 4K restoration. Had seen it before on DVD years ago, and had forgotten most of it. Jesus, lol. Great film, but whew, need to lie down for a bit

Make a bad movie? Yes he did
I watched Synecdoche, New York last night and fuck I really, really liked it. I 100% need to rewatch it another couple of times but I found it so affecting even on first viewing. The final two long monologue scenes blew me away.

Speaking of first watches, Master and Commander is fucking great. Brilliant, practical naval battles; long stretches spent on ‘slice of life in the Napoleonic Wars’ stuff; lovely performances from Crowe and Bettany; great soundtrack. Real epic movie.

That ending is an emotional and existential blitz.
Yay monopolies
In discussing the $170 million deficit with investors, Iger said that Disney Studios co-chairmen Alan Horn and Alan Bergman are working with Watts to "consolidate and to cut back on the number of releases so as to focus on the kind of release that we hope would come out of that studio."smh
Iger's comments confirmed what Hollywood insiders have known for months: Fox is now a pared-down label that lives alongside Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, Disney's live-action studio, Pixar and Disney Animation. Sources say the 20th Century Fox silo could make 10 or more movies a year, with half or more headed directly for Disney's new streaming service or Hulu, now controlled by Disney
By Apollo Go To PostFuck Disney.
On the subject of monopolies, some of you might be interested in this analysis of the death of hollywood in favour of TV, and the soon to come death of TV:

This passage, and the whole article, is framed by the notion that Netflix is becoming more budget conscience and metrics-driven. But really Netflix’s strategy is straightforward market power exploitation. The company is cancelling shows that subscribers like, so it won’t have to pay creators the amount they would otherwise be able to get for making good commercially successful art. In other words, Netflix is subtly raising prices on subscribers and paying creators less for their work.
The answer that the company is betting on is that it won't. There’s a business strategy angle, but fundamentally this is a political bet. Netflix executives believe that the public will tolerate monopolistic market structures.

hateful eight is masterful. felt a tad too long in the theater, but after rewatching it the other day, i have to conclude it is one of qt's very best works.
jackson talking about having his dick sucked as bait is one of tarantino's best written pieces.
it's up there with rd, pf and jb.
inglourious has some amazing moments, but as a whole it falls a bit short, i feel, to be up there with his best works.

It's probably the only thing you will ever going to see of it because Universal has cancelled the release of it a few days after Trump complained about it on Twitter.
Saw Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Wish I wasn't drunk when I saw it because even sober, that shit would've been crazy. Felt like I missed a lot of the point of it. Might be the most bizarre Tarantino movie I've seen.

Parasite was brilliant. Liked most of Bong Joon-ho's movies but this one felt the most well put together one in a while.
