By Ciaran Ashina Go To PostJohn Wick 3 was certainly better than 2
but still not as good as 1 if I'm being honest
2 >>> 1 >>>>>>> 3
tbh
By Magic Johnson Go To Post2 >>> 1 >>>>>>> 3Well there's no wrong answer! But curious to know what you liked about 2 and hated in 3?
tbh
I much preferred the set pieces (house, club etc) and choreography in 1 personally, as it felt more visceral and less chaotic. The more people on screen the less interesting and complex it gets

Personally, there's still a lot to appreciate about 3, and I'm still a big fan of the franchise. I just think the plot got a little messy in 3. The pettiness of the High Table without too much other nuance and subtlety to show for it was too blunt for my taste. But it all leads to a good setup for a tighter plot in John Wick 4, at least, and I think it could be the best one yet (this is as far as I can say without any spoilers). So I'm just being picky over the heft of how satisfying 3's plot was compared to 1 and 2, which were magical in comparison.
It’s not even a recut of the movie. It’s endgame with the blu-day footage attached at the end of the movie
Just watched Do the Right Thing for the first time.
Fuck. That’s a stone-cold masterpiece. 30 years old and it has THAT power.

Damn, Blood Simple was really really good. Love the Coens. They do dialogue and situations like no other directors. Frances McDormand was a cutie in this.

Saw my first (presumably) spoiler in a video title completely unconnected to the film

Whew, can’t get DTRT out of my mind; it was kinda breathtaking. The energy of it from frame 1, how good it is at capturing that sense of geography and community that made the place feel so lived in, its soundtrack...
LOVED the way it kept framing radio raheem as some all-powerful towering god, which makes the impact of the ending that much better. And the ending is nuts. There’s all that foreshadowing of ‘its a hot one’ (like romeo and juliet and their ‘the mad blood stirs in the sun’) and then it just EXPLODES so quick. Sal getting wound up all day and just how quickly it goes from ‘racial tension’ to full on cross-race violence and hatred.
Just loved the sheer energy of it so much. Its so vibrant and full of life and things to say. It doesnt do the best job with women (mookie’s gf is just typical shrill latina) but even then it has mother sister as that divine figure sitting by her window, and sal’s obsession with mookie’s sister is definitely framed as creepy far more so than necessary, as she isn’t really presented as being this ‘male gaze’ figure.
Also buggin’ out is fucking hilarious. That bit when the guy on the bike goes over his shoes 💀

Yeah one spike lee's best, I personally prefer 25th hour but when spike is good he's really good.
By Diego! Go To PostWatched Always be my Maybe last night. Was pretty funny. Made me want to visit San Francisco again.
I enjoyed it but 90% sure they filmed the Chinatown parts in Vancouver or Oakland
Rocketman was okay. Could moan about the pacing but the soundtrack makes up for any and all complaints
By Not Go To PostDammmmnnnn 60% RT do I smell an OscarHorror movies rarely do well on Rotten Tomatoes and 60% would make it the third best rated Chuky movie, behind the original and the last of the Don Macini series.
As someone who actually likes the original trilogy, this is good news.
Besides, most audience impressions I have read are positive.
Chucky has never been a high concept movie, as long as it has some gory killers and funny lines, I am in.
By Laboured Go To Postbetter not have weaker gunplay than the wick movies if keanu isn't in this reboot.

The dudes responsible for the gun play in the first Matrix are the guns doing the Wick movies right? If so they won't return

John Wick 1 is always going to be better because there was still some mystery and new characters we didn't know. All of the rest are for is a man killing people in cool ways.
I'm a bit late to the Us discussion from last page, but having just watched it this is probably the first film I've seen where the final twist has just completely ruined the film. Never seen such a dumb twist before, although I largely avoided the worst of Shymalan
By Laboured Go To Post28 Months Later is in the works with Garland helming. This pleases me, tho at this rate it should be 24 years later.
By data Go To PostMeet The Feebles is a cinemastic masterpiece that I can't believe has been missing from my life.It has the best sodomy related song ever. I love Peter Jackson's early work, check Braindead and The Frighteners if you haven't.
Rocketman got me heavy into Elton John's back catalogue. I wasn't super into the film while watching it until the latter half, but thinking back on it and musing on it, it was a great film. Don't @ me if you disagree.
By Lunatic Go To PostThis makes the Marvel movies look like documentaries in terms of realism.
