By Moris Go To PostBoston fans gotta be sweating that Kyrie will have to decide in half a year if he wants to give Hayward more time before attaching himself to Boston for the foreseeable future. Kyrie in Brooklyn would be fun.Mental dump incoming, Giant wall of text no one will probably read.
I don't think they're sweating that much. All his comments, when given the full statement, just show he's frustrated at everyone non-stop talking about his free agency. Not that he's inching away from Boston it self.
I mean, what are his options
Lakers: Go be LBJ's little brother again. An older LBJ that's taking even more rest. Have to deal with the warriors more regularly, a deeper conference with many tougher games, and potentially not make it out of the first round based on match ups. And have LBJ retire mid way through your contract.
And even if the Lakers also get AD (unlikely IMO), to do it they're going to gut their roster, have no one on it, and it's going to be LBJ, and 2 injury prone guys, on a team bereft of talent outside of them. Because they'll have no cap space to sign anyone. All 2 of those guys could have to average 38 - 40mpg.
NY: Go to a franchise with one of the worst owners in world sports. hope that they some how get KD. and play with a roster with no one on it other than him and KD. Meaning any time missed for injuries is going to REALLY hurt the team. And then face the question of, is that team even good enough to beat his old celtics, or Giannis, or Kawahi.
Or .... Is their a 4th option? To me, his best chance to compete long term is Boston.
Boston: Deep team. Young talent all around you that are still trying to prove themselves, busting their asses. Tatums continued development. An established GM that has a history of getting things done. Enough depth that you don't HAVE to play 40mpg. And if they get AD (most likely IMO), they will still have depth and young talent. And draft picks to replenish the stocks every year.
Yup if you don't get top 3 in this draft and it's not your beginning of a rebuild you are better off trading it.

Max Barnes sees Luka getting momentum for the Mavs and immediately tosses up a contested 20-footer without even attempting a basketball move. You can't teach that.
