Think we need to all pray for the US police profession at this diffficult time when there may be repercussions for summarily executing civilians.

True. Susan Collins is looking pretty shaky though
Genuinely disturbs me how lowkey shit our parents had are luxuries for our generation. Also how people and more specifically politicians are still avoiding that conversation. Instead its "lol millennials ain't shit" when we really haven't much to do with the economics surrounding it AT ALL.

Just in general, I was reading a thread about LA's homeless issue and I see it here every day or even get told by friends about the rising costs of their monthly rent for some tiny house or I just gawk at what a studio costs in the general area. Then I think about these races for president and how Warren touched on it a little but it was still rather insulting what numbers they came up with to help. Otherwise it seems folks are pretty quiet about it. I don't think a lot of people who are comfortable really understand we're headed for some real shit times just based on folks not being able to house themselves. Even here you got so many people in one domecile just to pay the monthly rent and every year it goes up. They wrote in some tenant protections like longer time to vacate and some upper end limits but it's not enough. Not when wages are stagnant, services and utilities still increase. There are more and more people on the street and we're not dealing with it very well (if at all) locally, regionally, state wide or federally.
Far as the luxuries, I'm talking cars, homes, families. Even a decent apartment in some areas is basically a luxury. An apartment. Not a high rise condo mind you, just a damn unit in a fucking decently kept up building.

Shocking noone:
Perhaps the most significant shift has come in capital investment, which Republicans inside and outside the administration promised would skyrocket after Mr. Trump signed a $1.5 trillion tax package that included steep cuts in the corporate tax rate and other incentives for companies to invest immediately. The charts showed nonresidential investment — money pumped into things like plants, property and equipment — surging to 8 percent growth under Mr. Trump.
New versions of those charts, updated by The New York Times to include more recent economic data, show investment growth was already slowing, or on the cusp, last September. By this spring, it had fallen below the average quarterly growth rate for Mr. Obama’s second term.
By HasphatsAnts Go To PostFalun Gong is wild and so is The Epoch Times. I see so many of those newspaper boxes around campus (University of Toronto) giving it out for free.
Very glib and reductive but also not wrong

By FortuneFaded Go To PostWho is the first coming of God according to the Jews? The Messiah hasn't arrived yet. When the Messiah arrives, Jews will get Israel and Jerusalem. Of course, the existence of Israel disproves that theory but most religious Jews disregard that. If there's a Messiah, there's no more Judaism. Religion is funny, isn't it.
I like how Republicans are defending Trump trying to buy Greenland by admitting that climate change exists.

Evangelicals would crucify Jesus again, don't worry about it.
They love this Trump guy, though.
