It was Bayern vs Man United, so being an Espanyol fan does indeed make Poch a neutral. Or am I missing something here?

Pep is right about the u23 league. It's pure crap. It would be much better if all the clubs treated it the same way as LVG in that he had first team players starting u23 matches. If it was an actual reserve team then there would be more grown men playing. Even then, as there is nothing on the line so it's not the same as playing in say the Championship.
Spain, Germany, France, Netherlands, etc... have B teams. However, none have a 2nd division as good as the Championship. Many clubs and fans would not want B teams because it would feel like watering down the competition.
It's tough to think of a solution because the higher level of league that the PL is does make it harder to trust kids to play a lot of minutes. On the other hand, Dortmund do a good job of integrating youth.
Having said that, United u23 are playing today. I'm going to watch that to get my Gomes, Greenwood fix.

Even if u23 is crap Klopp and Poch has successfully managed to promote a few academy players, with some becoming first teamers.

It's hard to believe u23 players aren't ready to be phased in since we know more than a few of them are very highly rated.

I'm sorry but if a face and voice like Solskjaer was screaming in my face I don't think I could suppress any laughs.
I'm surprised Lee Kang-In didn't make the Korean squad for the Asian Cup. They have a lot of crap players. I know he's barely about to turn 18, but if Valencia are that high on him, surely he's better than some of the jokers that play in the K League.

Over here B teams from some Eredivisie clubs play the second level of Dutch professional football (we only have 2). Our Ajax reserves team is the current champion actually. But the clubs actually playing their first team in that league aren't too happy with the reserves from Eredivisie clubs. Mainly because they switch their line-up quite frequently. If you're having bad luck you could face an Ajax reserves team on full strength even complemented by an Eredivisie player returning from injury. But if you're lucky it's mostly youth players and underachievers. If we have a busy schedule we usually take the best reserve team players out of there to sit on the bench for our first team. So yeah, that doesn't seem really fair to most clubs in that league.
For our reserves it's great of course. Because in this league they get to play against grown men and gain some experience. Much better for their development than slaughtering youth teams from other clubs every other week.
Lads, this song though. Can one fall in love with music this fast? 11 minutes of pureness. This band is so good, I discovered them through Bojack Horseman.

The problem is not the football league, the problem is the academies of the top clubs stockpile the best young players but don’t provide a pathway to the first team. I wouldn’t think that the best solution to this is to destroy the integrity of the football league.

Yeah, Bungie is right. Having u23 teams play in the leagues below EPL helps no one but the richest clubs.
The fact that players still get promoted into the first team for United, Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal andChelsea Everton shows that it definitely is possible.

Lmao.
It's a two pronged thing though. It certainly would benefit City and other big clubs having B teams, but it would also be more beneficial to the actual players who are at those clubs. Playing professional games that matter is important. And knowing that the players will actually get games as opposed to hoping they do when they're out on loan is important.
I still think the proposed idea of adding another league into the overarching Football League pyramid to accommodate the added B teams without taking the place of other teams was a good idea. It's not as if the "football pyramid" hasn't been affected in England before. It is no surprise that the national teams from Europe who have been the most successful in recent years are from countries that utilize B teams.

I know United have that reputation, but it's only really Rashford and Januzaj who were part of United's first team in any major capacity. TFM, Tuanzebe, etc... only got a few games. This stems back from the SAF days where Pogba as big as he was at 18 didn't get a chance. And I know United fans who follow the youth team always excuse that by saying he wasn't good for the reserves, I always found that wrong. He was doing well until we had Darren Gibson play for the reserves and had Pogba playing on the right wing in that Beckham role.
Those players should take ownership of their careers and go to a club where they’re going to get games then. Simple as that I think

Hell, I have mixed feelings with Dean Henderson wanting to leave. He's already impressing for Sheffield and it would probably be better for his career if he leaves United to get more game time in a club that wants him as their key goalkeeper.

Eh, they have to do this to survive. Most of their players aren't ready yet so they are getting some players with experience to fill in and at least survive from getting relegated.
By KidA Seven Go To PostWhich policy won them the league title? That policy died with Jardim leaving. They fucked up this window in terms of transfers. Can't always replace those big players leaving. Plus injuries fucked them heavily.
