rip rsc
just constantly reconnecting and downloading at 50KB/s
edit - download is near complete. RSC decides i'm not worthy and i now have to redownload it
The game keeps crashing on me because it says I'm signed in somewhere else.
I'm not, though.
Fucking DRM.
I got it working. Got the following performance (sorry for double post I keep missing this OT)
Ok so I was getting those numbers with Precision X. I had FRAPS run in the background during my last playtime. Precision is definitely off:
I got these numbers with the following settings:
Resolution - 4k
FXAA Off
MSAA 4x
TXAA ON
Population Density - Max
Population Variety - Max
Distance Scaling - Max
Texture Quality - Very High
Shader Quality - Very High
Shadow Quality - Very High
Reflection Quality - Very High
Reflection MSAA - 8x
Water Quality - Very High
Particles Quality - Very High
Grass - Ultra
Soft Shadows - NVIDIA PCSS
Post FX - Ultra
AF - 16x
Ambient Occlusion - High
Tessellation - Very High
Long Shadows - On
High Resolution Shadows - On
Extended Distance Scaling - On
Extended Shadows Distance - On
I tried taking some screen shots, but for some reason I can't with either FRAPS or Precision. These numbers are with stock clocks on the Titan X's. If I applied one of my OC profiles, I'm confident I could hit 60fps.
Or if I simply dropped 4x MSAA to 2x or turned it off and put FXAA on I'd for sure get 60fps.
Going to need to hook up the DS4 for the driving sections. Not about the KB/M for those. Everything else is A+. Can finally play through the game after getting in and out of the previous versions (not very far).
Not that I really care, but what's the deal with the preorder bonus?
I could have swore I had 500k before and I don't buy anything, so I don't know why I only have 7k.
seems like an extremely polished port--impressive
initial gameplay impressions were ;-; though, good lord I'm so tired of rambo style gunplay. I just want intense, strategic gunplay. I killed what, 30 guys in that opening section? With precision headshots and no recoil and a load of health on my end. i hope the whole game isn't so easy.

Sandbox genre: jack of all trades, master of none.
I remember the GTA:SA gun mastery mechanic. Not sure if I could tell the difference between a full bar and an empty one.
GTA IV replaced the gun mechanic with cars that don't have perfect cornering and such. Not as bad as people made it out to be, but def felt less like a game and more like real life.
i just don't know why developers think mowing down thirty literally animal dumb A.I with a laser accurate gun is appealing gameplay

This is why I don't play many single player games.
Maybe in 20 years we'll have real AI with meaningful, well thought out encounters against 10 or so people instead of the entire population of China but as husks.
Switched back to my ROG Swift from 4k. While 4k looks good af, I'm almost too the point of not being able to take non high refresh panels or Gsync for very long. Getting average of 96 fps with everything maxed, advanced settings maxed, 2x MSAA + TXAA. Difference was immediately noticeable. Became even easier to drive and shoot and it was just a better experience.
Hit my first game crashes today too, but I'm thinking that may have more to do with the Precsion X softare than the game.
I'm getting 30 fps with some stuttering. It only really dips below that when I'm in areas of high foliage.
*sigh* I need to upgrade my PC soon.
So, the group that made OpenIV, an extensive mod tool for GTA IV, Max Payne 3 & GTA V for consoles, has got a working version for GTA V PC that allows users to view files. Editing and importing isn't in yet, but expect it in the near future.
And so it begins...
By LabouredSubterfuge Go To Post I'm loving my ROG Swift with this simply because I can max out nearly everything and the dips into the 40s and 50s frame rates are often barely noticeble with no input lag.
Yea. Same here, can't even remember the last time I had FRAPS up because even drops to 30 fps aren't a big deal if you don't have any tearing or input lag.
By HasphatsAnts Go To Post65 GB OF HDD SPACE?
THE FUCK!
I began the instillation on a HDD with 72GB of space left last night before I went to bed. Woke up this morning to a message telling me that my HDD was low on space. Like, no ****!
When I came back to the game a day later, I just took a walk around the block. I literally walked, absorbing all the fine details that a team of programmers had to pretend that they were God to include in the game.
I took a gander at an evergreen tree whose textures remained impressive no matter how close I zoomed in the camera.
I walked too close to some loiterer, and he talked trash. Apparently his buddy who was in the distance, rolled up on me and started fighting me. My first fist fight of the game. His buddy, the trash talker, was stunned. I punched him out in one blow.
It was night, so I walked by a couple prostitutes. I don't ever recall them actually being attractive in any GTA...but this one. Of course, I wasn't in a car so they paid me no attention.
I tried sprinting and ran over a guy. I kept running. His icon turned red on the minimap and he started shooting. I ducked behind an alley, climbed a ladder, and noticed the little bugs that were revolving around the lights beaming on the billboard.
WOW
I stood on the roof until my pursuers went away, and finished my lap around the block at Franklin's Aunt's. Even the details in the house are outrageous, from the photos on the walls, to the bookshelves, the junky closet, his aunt's obsession with yoga, etc, etc.
The game is the kind of masterpiece that reminded me of how I felt when I played GTA III for the first time, when that game was like "If you can think about it, you can do it."
I'm only like 2 hours in and I'm impressed. I have yet to skydive, or scuba dive, or do any of the random stuff that I couldn't think of on my own without reading on the internet (I don't know how to do wheelies on my motorcycle).
Encountered Michael today. He reminds me of an angry NPC in the long tradition of GTA, but yet, I'm playing as him. go figure.
I have yet to meet Trevor. All I have heard are bad things tho.
Franklin is basically CJ all over again.
I always feel like the best part of a new GTA game is that first few hours when you're left in awe by the attention to detail and the craftsmanship. At that point in the game, your options and the game's potential seems limitless.
Kinda redundant to have two characters with anger problems. What a psycho!
