So, barring ANOTHER unexpected delay, Grand Theft Auto V will finally be released on the PC on April 14th. So, I figure what better way to prepare for the release than an OT for this classic?

Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs) @ 2.5GHz
Memory: 4GB
Video Card: NVIDIA 9800 GT 1GB / AMD HD 4870 1GB (DX 10, 10.1, 11)
Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible

Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible

(Since this is a cross-gen title, this game should have some scalability across different levels of PC hardware).
WHAT TO EXPECT:
1. Post-release content - Well, after doing some reserch on the GTA community's preparation for modding the game (more on that in a bit), I came across some http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=62849">interesting findings
. Apparently, there has been a crapton of content cut from the vanilla version of the console versions. Whether the content was cut for DLC, was found to be buggy, or was plain unsuitable for the game, the cut content ranges from weapons, to vehicles, to missions, and even to mini-games and side quests that are reminiscent of San Andreas:There are icons for many mini games not featured in the final game, these include: Air Hockey, extra Assassination missions, Basketball, Stealing Cars, Pimping, Burglaries, Weight Lifting, and Billards. Additional cut content from the icons: Cluckin Bell, Burger Shot, Drive Thru fast food, 'Car Carrier' (I'm guessing this was going to be like the car exports in GTA:SA, involving the Dock Handler), Illegal Parking zones, 'Snitches', and Taco Van (guessing these, along with the street vendors, would dispense healing food).
There's also audio for airhockey, and billiards in audio_misc.rpf\script\.
So, in short, once the PC version hits, expect to see more and more content released from Rockstar in the form of patches or DLC updates, especially to GTA: Online. There might even be some expansion packs later down the line, a la "Episodes From Liberty City".
2. Mods... mods EVERYWHERE - One of the best things about the PC version of IV was the modding community for it. While Rockstar never officially supported modding (and, depending on your perspective, may have even come of as hostile towards modding), that didn't stop the community from putting in work. We've seen everything from https://youtu.be/SQQErh_X4Fc" savefrom_lm_index="0" savefrom_lm="1">fantastic ENBs
http://savefrom.net/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fyoutu.be%2FSQQErh_X4Fc&utm_source=userjs-chrome&utm_medium=extensions&utm_campaign=link_modifier" target="_blank" title="Get a direct link" savefrom_lm="1" savefrom_lm_is_link="1"> that would make employed graphics designers feel guilty about being paid, to https://youtu.be/UCqPcD5TEls" savefrom_lm_index="0" savefrom_lm="1">brilliant car modshttp://savefrom.net/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fyoutu.be%2FUCqPcD5TEls&utm_source=userjs-chrome&utm_medium=extensions&utm_campaign=link_modifier" target="_blank" title="Get a direct link" savefrom_lm="1" savefrom_lm_is_link="1">, to https://youtu.be/NJDEdjJaQVk" savefrom_lm_index="0" savefrom_lm="1">moving parts for said car modshttp://savefrom.net/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fyoutu.be%2FNJDEdjJaQVk&utm_source=userjs-chrome&utm_medium=extensions&utm_campaign=link_modifier" target="_blank" title="Get a direct link" savefrom_lm="1" savefrom_lm_is_link="1">, to even https://youtu.be/vXKZo9uWCMM?t=25s" savefrom_lm_index="0" savefrom_lm="1">superhero mods.http://savefrom.net/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fyoutu.be%2FvXKZo9uWCMM%3Ft%3D25s&utm_source=userjs-chrome&utm_medium=extensions&utm_campaign=link_modifier" target="_blank" title="Get a direct link" savefrom_lm="1" savefrom_lm_is_link="1">So, assuming there is some carry over from IV to V's engine since they are both RAGE Engine games, expect to see even more mods. Personally, I'm looking forward to all the car mods, and the custimization options modders will place within Los Santos Customs. I want to replace the Vacca with a Lamborghini Aventador and be able to mod it to my liking.
3. Some growing pains - Rockstar hasn't been the friendliest publisher to the PC platform as of late. In addition to the overall delays to V, there were also some rumors of Rockstar using Denuvo DRM for the PC version. Another thing to consider is the overall quality of the PC version of IV, and all the problems it had, both with DRM and the actual port itself. There was also the controversy regarding the PC version of San Andreas, where Rockstar released a patch that removed content from the game nearly 10 years after the fact. I'm not gonna cut Rockstar any slack here. If you're not already preordering, then wait to see some user reviews before you dump $60 on this.

If you loved San Andreas, then you'll love V. Bigger map, more characters to play with, GTA Online, and of course mods.
What's not to like?
By Diprosalic Go To Postthis game is doodoo.
maybe mods will fix it.
Stahp it, slime.

I thought I was the only one.
It's been released on everything besides PC basically, I figured I was the only holdout.
I will show slaent true power with gta v PC
This will be a triple dip for me.
The titan black I was selling would sure look good in that system reilo
I can't even contribute to the hardware talks. I'm out here running on an AMD FX-6200 & Radeon 7570.
I'll be running at console settings and shit unless I fork over the dough, which I can't because I'm living on a fast food employee budget. http://www.thecoli.com/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/mjcry1.png
">I don't even care no more, I just wanna drive around Los Santos in a Mustang...
Oh baby.
Hoping my SLI GTX 780s can have this running at 1440p at 60+fps on my Gsync monitor.
Gunna be good.
By reilo Go To Post Did you really offer me something called the 'titan black' and think I'd accept? Bruhhhhhh

By reilo Go To Post Looks like I'll have to upgrade my PC if I want to play this. It is a good 2.5 years old now (GTX570, i5 2500k OC'd @ 4.5GHz). I think I'll be fine just getting a new GPU, but I rarely play PC games anymore so ugh not sure if it's worth it.
Couldn't they have made it to run on hardware comparable to a PS3, given that the original game ran on it?

LOLOLLLLLLLL!!!
I wonder if R* is bold enough to troll us with a review copy.
Don't look now, but http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1024975">Brazilian online retailer Nuuvem.com is selling non-Steam GTAV keys for 89,99$R, which is $29 in USD.
Gotta pull some tricks to do it, but it's been comfirmed to work for the people who have downloaded it so far.Obviously, the game won't work until release day, and there may be some DRM/authentication hurdles you might have to jump through (I don't think Rockstar is enough of a dick to region-lock PC keys, but since they are a bit spiteful towards GTA on the PC platform, who knows?). But, if you're willing to risk $30, I say those issues are worth it.
4k60fps confirmation for me and it means a SLI profile is ready for day 1. This will most likely be of similar quality to the elite tier max Payne 3 port.
Yis

Custom Soundtracks
It may not be the Spotify integration we were hoping for, but Rockstar is letting players make their own radio station using music files on their computer. After putting copies of song selections into a specific folder, you can listen to them on the Self Radio station. An auto scan will identify new songs as you add them upon starting the game.
Players have a few different options for listening to these custom soundtracks. You can play them sequentially, shuffle the collection, or have Rockstar integrate them into a radio experience complete with commercial breaks, station IDs, bumpers, and banter between DJs Cliff Lee and Andee, who you may remember from Lips 106 in Liberty City Stories. In the pause menu you can choose whether you want to have the songs play in the order you have them in the folder or to let the game analyze the collection and build a playlist order.
If you don’t want to build your own station, you can enjoy some new tunes on the in-game stations courtesy of Rockstar. For the PC version, the developer added The Lab FM, hosted by Alchemst and Oh No, to the rotation. Artists featured on this eclectic new station include Earl Sweatshirt of OFWGKTA fame, Little Dragon, Tunde Adebimpe from TV on the Radio, Phantogram, Freddie Gibbs, Gangrene, Future Islands’ Samuel Herring, and more.
:)
I can confirm the $29 deal above works, as I've been able to authenticate my key, and start downloading.
To take advantage, follow these instructions.
1. Go to hola.com, download the Chrome extension, and from the Hola icon, choose "Chile".
2. Go to www.nuuvem.com, create an account/log-in, and add GTA V to your account.
3. Click on your cart and go to checkout. Select PayPal as your payment option. Finalize the purchase.
4. After the purchase is finished, you'll be taken to your account page, where GTA V is the first game listed. Click on the cover. From there, you'll see your activation key. Copy it, then go to socialclub.rockstargames.com, and create/log-in to your free Social Club account.
5. Once logged-in, click on the Settings icon in the upper right hand corner, and click "Game Downloads". Then click on "Use Rockstar Code". Paste the key, and activate the game.
6. Download the client, and execute it. From there, download the game, and rejoice at the $30 saved.

">Experimenting with the returning Rockstar Editor, which allows us to easily capture and edit real time gameplay footage, was also a lot of fun. In just a few minutes I’d made a short reel of a high speed burst across Los Santos International Airport, passing narrowly under a landing jumbo with the cops in tow. Some of the video content that players will create with more time to hone their productions will no doubt be fantastic, especially now that Rockstar has augmented the system with a new option it has dubbed Director Mode.
Director Mode will allow us to stage elaborate scenes and control characters and animals, adjust weather and time of day on the fly, and trigger actions like gestures and dialogue phrases. Players will also be able to warp to different locations around the map and activate in-game cheats. Rockstar confirms animals, special pedestrians and heist crew members will unlock for use here as you progress through the single-player game.
I just busted a nut.
By Smokey Go To Post RSC is a terrible client. I finally got the game downloaded after waiting 1.5 days. Shouldn't have to deal with bs like that in 2015 smh
yup, its pretty bad.
spent 2 hours trying to play Max Payne 3 when i bought it during a steam sale. worst experience ever. I'm fully expecting more nonsense for GTA
Apparently, there was a bug with Rockstar's Social Club client where not only was the download going astronimically slow, but the client was downloading the same 1.79GB RPF file over and over. I think they fixed it, but as I said in the OP... expect some fuckery.
Smokey, I expect to see some quality screencaps from you upon unlocking the game.
seems to be a bug
"This is normal behavior with R349 drivers to facilitate changes with Windows 10. Although the Asus SWIFT G-Sync monitor is reporting G-Sync mode while on the desktop, it is only running in G-Sync mode in full screen apps.

Like... they could've just preloaded the patch with the initial DL and have the user install via an executable.
