Woodward really fucked up the season. Mourinho is just there to finish the job.
He needs to get out of the game for a year or so to get a new perspective in the game. Be an analyst because he's really one of the best on that.

Say what you will about Tyler but he knew how to keep the lid on the loons.

Re: United, like I said, too big to fail, we just need better focus at the top and top organisation in middle management, hire new scouts and revamp recruitment.
The rest will follow, if will take some time, but we need to stop chasing butterflies.

So watching 2077.
Guess it was 'cleaner than a cunt at a convent' that spurred some angry posts?
See nothing wrong with it.
Not a bad looking game either.

Despite the knives that are out for Mou, Klopp has been in his job longer, and Mou has still won more with United.
Time, perspective etc

Bit of revisionist history there, he did ban the word from the forum and ban footy gaf for a couple of months over the use of ‘cunt’
By Willkiller Go To PostBit of revisionist history there, he did ban the word from the forum and ban footy gaf for a couple of months over the use of ‘cunt’Yeah, he was a cunt, never denied that, hence my devil you know remark - but at least the buck stopped with him. You could to a single figure and say, yeah that cunt over there.
Era on the other hand a loose collective of lonely misanthropes with no clue of how to run this thing.
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostAnd 20 years later, Pool is still a massive club with a massive following despite lean years in the trophies department. We've still failed over the course of the PL imo. A view skewed by historical success, but there you are. There's a fair old gap between remaining big and being successful, the odd cup (and even a Champions League win) doesn't compensate for being also-rans in the league which is where you're headed for the foreseeable future with your current set-up. If I was a Man Utd fan I'd want the pair of Mourinho and Woodward fucked off right now, or Woodward at least relegated to entirely commercial work if he accepted it. I assume that will be part of the structure when you hire a DoF.

Which is exactly what I said in the initial post you quoted. A complete overhaul of our current management set up is essential.
The restructure doesn't guarantee success though, if it even happens. The financial success is both a blessing and a curse in that sense. Gives you the security to restructure at will without having to worry too much about pay-offs and the transfer fees needed to switch philosophies at the drop of a hat, but also gives the board less incentive to even try getting back to the top.
The 'success on the pitch is unrelated now to how well we do off of it' was brushed off as a cheap laugh by most, including myself, but it is a bit of a glimpse into what could be a very worrying mindset pervading the decision-makers at the club

When Woodward has the kind of ego where he thinks he knows better than the manager he hired then it doesnt give me much hope he will give any value to the DoF whoever it may be.
By Officer_lool Go To PostWhen Woodward has the kind of ego where he thinks he knows better than the manager he hired then it doesnt give me much hope he will give any value to the DoF whoever it may be.His relationship with Mourinho seems completely bizarre. Trusts him enough to not even consider sacking him, doesn't trust him enough to spend the money that everyone knows you need to spend in order to compete.
Fair enough its Mourinho's own signings that he considers not good enough in Bailly and Lindelof's case, but there's no denying that you needed to sign at least one more centreback. Making Mourinho live with his own mistakes to the massive detriment of performances on the pitch is just weird.
Its as though Woodward just looked at the league table and saw that you only conceded 28 goals last season, and presumed that it meant that your defensive unit is of the required quality. When De Gea is playing like a normal top class goalkeeper instead of the freak of nature he was last season, you're up shit creek.

You didn't cry?
Nothing guarantees success, and yes being rich will always make you an entity that is out of touch.
But any organisation with any smidgen of risk assessment will know its own risk tolerance and the long term unsustainablility of the current shower.
Woodward will hang around because he brings in the noodle money. I'd be happy if he was removed from all footballing related matters, that would be down to a board resolution. There are risks there too.

Ian Ayre was doing great work on the commercial side but after a few high profile transfer failures, like Texeira, Konoplyanka, Willian, Dahoud, Mkhitaryan, etc. he called it quits. Initially it seemed a risky move because we were generally happy as fans and thought it was out of his hands when things went wrong. Then in steps Edwards and we’re beating City, United and Chelsea to signings and even our failures like VVD and Keita become delays rather than fuckups.
My point is that yeah, commercial ability doesn’t necessarily translate to good transfers, and while it may look like a scapegoat, dropping Woodward might immediately turn things around.

You have to assume Woodward's comment refers to specific one off results or short term patches of form. Because thinking results won't affect you commercially in the long term would be idiotic.

By Eternity Go To PostGod tier noodles, how do you prepare them?Mamak style is the best.
What I do is use the oil to fry some shallots and diced garlic, add in curry powder + ketchup + chilli sauce and then stir-fry an egg into it.
Add in the already boiled indomie + bumbu and stir it all together. Finish it off with some diced tomatoes and diced spring onions
I've taken to adding sliced green pepper, sliced pepperami and fresh basil to my Super Noodles
