I might be wrong but I think Chelsea never beat anyone by more than 4 goals under Mourinho until his second stint. Probably when we beat Arsenal. Loads and loads of 4-0s but never any more than that.
So how many league games before Mourinho is gone?
I think it comes to a head sooner rather than later.
Doesn't get past 10 league games IMO.

I’d be surprised if he was still there by Xmas. Think we’ll get through our CL group and then hope for someone to take over for knockouts.
Only person readily available is Zidane though, and I don’t think he’d do very well :lol. Madrid was the perfect environment for him to succeed.
Can’t see Poch upping sticks mid season.
Get Wenger.
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostThe real question is who's coming in?
The revolving door manager thing is not sustainable.
Isn’t it? Chelsea manage fine with it. So do most clubs around Europe. 2-4 years is the shelf life of a manager now.
I was only thinking yesterday it’s a shame that we view managers differently here than they do in Italy, for instance; Allegri managing Milan and Juve, Lippi and Capello having a go with all the big clubs... we’ll never see the likes of Pep or Klopp at United because of the perception of managers here being intrinsically linked with their clubs. Jose one of the only ones to cross the divide and even then, his is a different case entirely.

United is far too used to an autocratic Fergie like figure whom everyone knew would outlast the mountains.
By Bold 2 in One Go To PostI think Chelsea is the only place where that works and has been a bedrock for them ditto Madrid to an extent, Bayern is in the bundeslolga.I don't think so. United has started to move on, hell, even Mourinho insinuated that he is more in a sense head coach at the club.

Then we need to adapt to a model where that works. Viva said it all perfectly; the club is not set up in a way that enables continuity or smooth transitions. Since City got bought out, they have been working towards having Pep in charge. There was a long term goal which included hiring people like Txixi, and now when Pep leaves I’d imagine the plan will be to promote Arteta because they’ve made the club’s coaching climate a sustainable one.
I don't want Conte. Thought he was the best coach in his first Chelsea season but how he managed to mismanage Chelsea last season was something
Its just 1 loss and its the 2nd game of the season. I think now more than ever the club and its supporters need to get behind Mou and get together. There is no reason why we cant recover from this. I think we all have become soft and look for targets and scapegoats far too easily. There is no guarantee that the next manager will improve us and we will win things so lets just stick with the hand we are dealt in terms of transfer window and deal with it and move on.
There is too much negativity around our club and most of it comes from the press which the supporters have started believing which leads to more chaos.

I'm fairly sure both the away game and the FA cup game, we were being talked up as favourites, and United were in turmoil.
And then we did what we did
Lump £20 on United

I would get behind Mou if his teams showed any semblance of unity or grit when the chips are down.
They often look like strangers who just met under a new manager on his first outing. I know its a not a straight parallel but watching the women's team who just met in the summer, the chemistry was there.

Don't go all Domino on me
There is literally no excuse for the performance yesterday. Maybe we lose because of a few silly mistakes, whatever. But we should be battling. Peppering the opposition keeper with shots. Penning Brighton in.
That didn’t happen; they completely neutered up and looked overwhelmingly comfortable. All you can ask of your players - and this counts for every single football team in the entire world - is to put some fight in and care on behalf of the fans. They didn’t do that.

Pogba, Sanchez, Martial, Lukaku, Mata, Matic, Rashford, should be enough to dominate any team outside the top six. We really shouldn't be playing counter attacking football against Brighton...
I reckon go 3-5-2.
De Gea; Bailly, Matic, Lindelof; Valencia/Young, Fred, Pereira, Pogba, Shaw/Young; Lukaku, Sanchez.
Gives us more width, gives the defenders an extra partner at the back with experience and the ability to play out, puts Sanchez closer to the goal where he’s best.
and of course gives pogba more freedom (tm)

Doubt it. Don't think he'd be a candidate for that reason.

The chaos is of Mourinho’s own creation. A loss is no big deal. It happens, can’t win em all. But it’s the fact that everyone saw this coming. The predictability is what stings.

I'd go so far as to say inevitability at this point. It's almost certain that this wil not turn round into a happy ending and most fans can see the tidal wave of shit on the horizon.
Thoughts after 1st La Liga
* No VAR is a joke on Asensio's play. At least look at it FFS
* A fit Bale will lead us to fight for UCL spots.
* Benzema shines a lot lately and that warms my heart

By Vivalapizza Go To PostSo how many league games before Mourinho is gone?I think he'll see out the season unless we're hitting relegation form. Woodward has been very reluctant to bin managers even though months of form screamed at him to get rid. Moyes didn't go until April even though it was obvious since December that he needed to go. LvG was sacked in May even though people were calling for his head six months prior.

Although neither of those guys are as toxic as Mourinho who may well decide to force himself out. I hope he fucking does.

I am not a hard-core supporter of Mourinho but it's just game no. 2 of the new season and we all need to have a positive outlook and hope things go our way. Negativity breeds more negativity.

I mean even players like Shaw have come out and said Mou has helped him and others have said there is good atmosphere among players and in dressing room.
I just feel it's all created by the press questioning and over analysing each and every tid bit that comes from Mou and the club.

After a season where we finished 2nd and at 81 pts.
Stop with these hyperbolic statements. Pls.

I’ve said it before, but I think Mou’s methods work best when he’s an underdog. He exhausts shit anyway, but in the past:
- Porto. Obviously not underdogs in the league but so far beyond everyone it didn’t matter. Massive underdogs in the CL.
- Chelsea. New kids on the block with an upstart attitude and a point to prove. Then the challenge of doing it again. Wheels came off when they were established favourites and winners.
- Inter. Came up against a really strong Milan side, of which they were probably joint favourites with in the wake of Calciopoli. Again, big underdogs in the CL.
- Madrid. They were up against a team lauded as the best there has ever been. No brainer.
- Chelsea again. In the post-Ferguson era, no team has been able to dominate, but after his first season the expectation was that City would continue scoring bucketloads under Pellegrini and Liverpool would only improve under Rodgers. He made some smart buys and won the title so definitively that they were clear favourites the year after.
Part of the issue is that he will treat these stars and winners, once they have done so, as if they still have a point to prove and he will do so in a negative way. Instead of Pep-style “let’s improve upon last year”, it seems to be more “you think you’re hot shit”.
This does not work at United; we are never going to be underdogs because of our wealth, our size, our history. Inter were far from the biggest club in Italy. Madrid, while not necessarily underdogs in almost every other circumstance, had the perfect storm for him to engineer his methods in.
United are the biggest club in the country. We may not be favourites, but we are never underdogs. This was part of Moyes’ failing; managing the club like he was still at Everton. Mourinho is applying tactics to us that worked at other clubs; they will not work here.
If Pep was in charge of this squad, he’d fashion something out of it. Maybe he wouldn’t play the likes of Lukaku (and that sucks for me because he’s my favourite current player), but he’d be instilling this squad with self-belief, telling Shaw he can fucking make it, telling Pogba he’s a once-in-a-lifetime talent, giving Martial and Rashford the keys to the kingdom. Mourinho’s siege mentality, burn everything down for results methods do not work in the context of the club.
