Wait, why is he considered one of the worst? He had a 69% win record lol. I know he disn’t win anything, but it was like they were losing all their games.

Getting hyped for the new season. Given the state of some of our key players I reckon we'll have a slow start. I confide in the likes of Dybala and Cancelo to carry us through the first couple of weeks, until the absolute units in our team get on form.
Lazio - Napoli should be a good one.

The Man City documentary led me to find that Netflix have one for Juventus (17-18 season), and it's honestly a great watch.
I would love it if there were more teams involved in this.

Not sure why he hadn't been taking them, but if you average his wage out over the last few years it isn't as stupidly high

Matches played abroad and B-teams in lower leagues are two of the things that I really don't want to see in English football
There's marketing, then there's eroding what remains of the sanctity of the game

Kroos jumping in to make sure the Ozil story stays in the news and the German players continue looking like asshats.
Bet Spanish fans will be delighted they won't be able to attend one of the only big fixtures in their calendar.

It's really just the preliminary steps / testing ground for a European Super League.
Agree with Greg Johnson on this.
Everyone is always down on Euro Super leagues, but I still feel it could be a good thing. Once great teams like Ajax or Benfica have no hope of ever winning the CL again, and their leagues are doomed to be permanent testing grounds for big club players. At least a super league could balance power away from a just a handful of leagues in Europe.
I'd be more interested in a European Super League where only the champions from 20 European leagues qualify for it than I would be in one where there are multiple teams from some countries.
Have no interest in it being used to prop up teams that used to be good.

Dunno if I agree with that Greg Johnson stuff. Fans have referred to clubs by those shortened names forever. This branding is just a move by corporate entities to get closer to fans in an age of social media. 'Oh the club is run by people who are fans too, look we even refer to ourseoves as Barca, just like you'.
Bohemians in Ireland always refer to themselves as Bohs, don't think they're getting ready for a global super league

European super league idea
Win your league and you go to the super league along with 19 other league champions to see whos best. Your league continues back home and a new champion at the end of the season goes to the next seasons super league and you return to your own league. Super league is a new entity every year and leagues only miss one team

By Laboured Go To PostWe all know full well that the format will be for the big storied franchises and no one else.Yeah nobody in the audience they want to exploit wants to watch the Slovenian champions beat Shamrock Rovers or whatever
Can't be arsed with a league comprised of 4 Spanish teams, 4 English teams, 3 Italian teams, 3 German teams, 2 Portuguese teams, Ajax by invitation and one more Dutch team, Celtic and the Turkish champions.
Aren't FIFA already pitching a Club World Cup. I'm sure there were reports about it earlier in the year, $25b league/tournament backed by Saudi/UAE/Japan and United, City, Madrid and Barca are all reportedly on board already.
Just a matter of time.

As always this is about money, the premier league just generates wwwwaaaaaayyyyy to much money in comparison to other leagues. A super league is literally the only way to challenge the EPL financially and even then I dont think it would topple it (perhaps the aim is just to close the gap).
With Cancelo in the team, this makes it 4 FK specialists. Pjanic, Dybala, Cancelo and ... Ronaldo.
But of a weak argument using Juve. Juve has been used as far back as I can remember. Plus, it isn’t like Juventus is the name of a place.
Just realised that if it ran alongside the normal season, you'd have 76 fixtures before domestic cup competitions. That's unworkable. Teams would have to choose which one to participate in. Would probably be done with Liverpool if we chose the European Super League (assuming we qualified for it/were invited)

la liga without el clasico is unthinkable.
They should have 2 super leagues, A and B with promotion and relegation. And also domestic league winners can get promoted to the B super league in a playoff system that pairs the best domestic teams against the relegated B league teams. Also there are country limits such that if Everton want to make it to the B league, they have to beat the lowest ranked English team, not the lowest ranked team.overall

It'd devalue every single league title win as well
Congratulations, without the best team in the league to challenge you, you were the best of the remaining teams

I would just be happy if we can keep our squad together for a bit longer so we can just challenge in Europe in the current system. And the CL should go back to just being the league winners in a tournament, that's more fun than 3 or 4 clubs from each of the big leagues with hardly any chance of a big surprise.
Plus, a global fixture list would most likely only be America, Japan, China, Dubai, and Australia. Very few countries globally would be able to afford hosting rights and be able to generate the type of gates that European clubs would expect.

Moving to a super league would mean the teams that don't make the cut are cut-off from the gravy train. The amounts of money would be so vast that being promoted from a domestic league, or even from a B league to an A league, would be pointless. Those clubs wouldn't be able to survive and there is no way a super league will be established with any kind of equitable money sharing deal.

I don't think the gate is such a huge concern anymore.
But I don't see clubs being too happy to play many games outside of CET which is where their biggest market is.
I dont know why I'm so against it, but I really dont want a super league either. Maybe I am a Brexiter after all.
