By Auto Simeone Go To PostMou would park the bus against Barca and throw the team under the bus when he gets smashed 5-0Tbf god himself would struggle vs Messi, Xavi and Iniesta coached by Pep. It was unfair. Mourinho could have picked 11 players of his choosing from the whole world and he would have lost 95 out of 100 times.

By Lunatic Go To PostShocked, absolutely shocked I say that Dan, Kermit, and Meier think their team is objectively the most successful.
You shouldn’t be, because it’s fucking accurate mate. No team now comes close to our record this season. Nearly double the amount of goals than anyone else and lowest conceded says it all. We’ve lost only twice and drawn only 4 times, dropping only 14 points from a possible 111.
Compared to 2004 Arsenal, we’ve scored 30 more goals. Arsena also dropped 22 points throughout the season, and won 26 games, whereas we have won 31 and possibly 32. There’s little comparison. Someone earlier said ‘04 Arsenal would walk us, which I find hard to believe. I’d love to see it. A true battle of defence v attack.
Finally, I’m not gloating, and most of you have been very gracious. Yet there’s a few who continue to downplay City’s achievement and the facts just don’t back it up.
(I would have loved a gold trophy though)
Went to sleep after seeing the lineup because I've been sleeping at 5am for the last couple of days, and not interested in another Mou masterclass in defense.
Looks like I didn't miss anything much.

United in 1998/99 were better. Arsenal in 2003/04 were better. Chelsea in 2004/05 were better. Chelsea in 2005/06 were better. United in 2007/08 were better. Chelsea in 2014/15 were better for ∼6 months.

That being said, if you feel the need to do this by all means, nobody should tell you how to celebrate your teams success.
Think United 98/99 and 07/08 are the only real sides that can be talked up as better. Winning tbe alongside the league is no easy feat. The 99 side wins because a) treble and b) FA cup actually meant shit back then
By Lunatic Go To PostYeaaaa not reading that. He's Travis Collis tier.
In 10 years, any City fan can enter an argument stating all the records they've broken this season but then be reminded they lost the FA Cup tie against Wigan and the CL QF against another EPL team, Liverpool 5-1 on aggregate.
There's always next season.

As far as the league goes, this is an unparalleled season in terms of success. Again, whether or not it's the "best" season is a subjective argument, but when you set essentially every record possible then you cannot be compared against others as far as success goes. I wouldn't even bet on us coming close to it next year, frankly.

I’m trying to be very careful not to gloat, because it’s unseemly. I’m more just responding to some who downplay City’s achievements, which I feel is disrespectful and a little transparent. Of course, everyone will believe their triumphant side was ‘best’, that’s human nature. But as Meier mentioned, at least we have the stats/records on our side in this particular debate.
I feel awkward arguing against Arsenal 2004 and some of Ferguson’s best United title-winning season over the years, because they were scarily impressive. I still recall the dread.

If my team got 100 points and 32 wins I would be popping off tbh

i'd be saying we were the best prem side ever if it weren't for fucking liverpool
i would love another crack at them, i still think we're the better team when fit, but the record is what it is. like if we get 100 points then fucking hell, what an achievement, but it's never gonna sit right because liverpool still embarrassed us.
there's another argument which i'll accept has some merit, and that's about the state of football being fucking wank. rich teams are stronger than ever, and every defensive coach swears a fucking oath to not pass on their knowledge, so although our scoring record is impressive - it becomes an expectation tbh. i think we'll surpass it in the next year or two.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..................HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA............. excuse me, it's hard to stop laughing when the fans with a giant chip on their shoulder from being dominated for decades by their city rivals try and claim their team is the best ever in the Premier League.
The facts are Man City:
Failed to win the treble
Failed to win the FA Cup double
Failed to go the season unbeaten at home
Failed to go the season unbeaten away
Failed to get any where near the PL record for fewest goals conceded
The player of the season was from another team
None of their team would make it into the all time best Premier League eleven
It's genuinely embarrassing watching some City fans circle jerk each other off when only last year they failed to win anything and they expect to be taken seriously when they're just the English PSG with fake oil money.

defense has been bad for 100 years and no one noticed
why even buy defenders
just play 10 attackers
defenders are essentially big people who dont know how to play football but still want to make a career out of it

As for City being the best PL side ever, I don't wanna say much because this is the kinda topic that will rage on for a fair while, but please don't start talking like this now, let's wait a couple years and then look restrospectively. Enjoy your current success City m8s without quantifying it.
Guardiola will return to Barcelona and win UCL again, but he better hurry before good ol Messi leaves.
100 points is really impresive but the real challenge begins now.

Not to mention it's Mou's 3rd season in charge.
Hoping for another top 4 finish, and not embarassing ourselves in the CL. Mou definitely should be gunning for titles, but that's my expectation.

Agreed. The United defeat will sting for a long time, and the Liverpool league defeat is a real blight as well. But that’s it. I’ll take it.

I agree with this too. If we do it again next season there’ll be no doubt. Pep needs to maintain the hunger, and as we’ve seen that’s extremely hard to do these days.

Official 2018-19 Home kit
Spurs and City can expect a similar jacket:
The away kit is pure yellow (looks good) and the third looks like a muted City home colorway with the same scribbled lines down the shoulders that appear on the track jacket.
The collar leaves a bit to be desired, but the home shirt isn't terrible and I quite like the socks.

Kluivert’s likes to play as a wide forward and can operate on either wing,
…though his preference is on the left.
