The president of Italian third-tier side Rimini FC has offered to take Liverpool keeper Loris Karius on a year-long loan deal as a gift for his birthday, which is 22 June, so the 24-year-old German can "rediscover calm and his self-belief" after his Champions League final disaster. (Rimini FC)
what a LAD

Silly season is in full swing, lads.
Thank God this came from Record so there's 99,9% chance of not being real.
JOE HART IS THE TARGET
Manchester City's goalkeeper to replace Sporting's captain.
31 years old English International has one year left on his contract but the citizens have informed him that he won't be in the squad.
Signature prize over 3M€ and wages at the level of the best paid in the club.

if liverpooler were any smart they'd go after oblak

I agree, if Liverpool are gonna smash the transfer record then they might as well put in a cheeky bid for Oblak.
I think Courtois on his day is just as good as them. Baby Gigi is just as good a shot stopper, but right now is mentally weak as fuck.

By Arnie Go To PostThat’s a Liverpool 2014 style signing.
Ah, the year you choked on the league and we snatched the trophy from the jaws of defeat. I recall it fondly.
Anyway, I was legitimately shocked at the Roseanne cancellation. Now that was a wonderful notification to wake up to. ABC did the right thing after doing the wrong thing by reviving the show in the first place. Kinda ironic that Barr sold the show as a chance for America to reach across the aisle and find common ground with their political opponents, and now she’s torpedoed her career and will forever be known as a shocking racist.
Absolutely pumped for the Fallout reveal too. I enjoyed 4.
I hope we sell Thiago and keep Vidal instead.
Bernat, Boateng and Thiago out pls

The only advantage the EPL has over the PL is wages.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostI think he is good. But a world record fee?I'm not debating the price Roma have seemingly put on him. It's absurd, obviously. No track record to speak of, first season on the radar at 25, etc.
He isn’t even close to the Oblak/DDG level.
I would take Buffon, Baby Gigi, Perin, and Handanovic over him last season.
He is 25 and has only a single year experience in Europe. Sorry if I am not saying he is the greatest thing ever.
But there is no way in hell Handanovic had a better season than Allison. Or Perin. Or fucking Donnarumma. If you think that, I don't even know where to start. Agree to vehemently disagree.

they play shit football
they haven't won the league in 300 years (by their metric of success under fergeh)
they have a mental human bean as manager, who's more obsessed with showing that you can have success playing the polar opposite of guardiola's style, rather than go back to what made him great in the first place
why would greaseman even want to play for another Simeone-like manager who's gonna stifle him as much as he can?? At least with Simeone he already has some amount of freedom, mourinho would just shut him down. You don't think he sees uniteders faces when uniteder is playing? Tears of blood.

Griezmann with us for a full season would've been great instead of the LW hot swap we had and the late Alexis plug. He's class and has sacrifice, something Pogba doesn't. Mou would've loved that about him. 20 goals+ minimum.
I think Mata has performed as well as he could. Has always been one of our best players stats wise. He has always been a good, sometimes great, but never world class.
but this season he has been a bit worse, probably due to rushing back into the team while recovering from a hernia operation. Doesnt seem like he is as agile as he used to be, and even if he was, it wasn't like he was a physical specimen in the first place.

Like you're arguing, the only way we could accomplish anything is if we retain everyone, bring in reinforcements, and just play Sarri-ball. Anything else will lead to league disaster.
But I suspect we may get somewhere in the CL. Maybe the quarterfinal round?

Well I think you are wrong. When I watch those other keepers there have always been times when i think their clubs are lucky to have them and that they have saved them.
I don’t know why you are ao down on Perin the work he has done is fantastic. I am pretty sure he faces more shots then anyone and he always equips himself well.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostI don’t know why you are ao down on Perin the work he has done is fantastic. I am pretty sure he faces more shots then anyone and he always equips himself well.I'm not down on Perin at all. I like him, he'd make for a very good keeper anywhere and a brilliant 2nd keeper at Juve. Maybe even get promoted to 1st someday, if he keeps improving. Something I've acknowledged - him making strides over the past two seasons, that is.
However, I still remember his crazy years, so maybe that's why I'm not 100% sold. Allison had pretty much a perfect season.
The PL is the league the football world rotates around. Wages are a big thing but it’s not just the numbers, it’s the crazy media circus that surrounds it at all levels. In Spain, everyone but Barca and Real are skirting around the periphery.
In the PL, the world is always watching. Even the shit teams, because of the TV deal, get their dues. It’s a different world, and players want to be a part of it.

I just don’t think that is the case.
The culture between England and the rest of Europe is so huge that it puts off a lot of players.
You take your average South American and offer him the same wages at a mid level club in Spain(I would also say Italy and Portugal) and England and I feel most would pick Spain.
I feel like the only world class players who made the job to the PL when they could have their pick of clubs this decade have been Yaya, Auguero and Pogba. Ozil, ADM, and Sanchez were pretty much surplus to requirements at their old clubs.

You say that and yet the PL has tons of foreign players. The likes of City and Arsenal can field a first XI without a single English player in it. Liverpool is damn close to having a foreign XI as well.
How often do you see players saying “I want to play in Spain” or France, or Italy? Compare that to how often you hear them say that about England. The PL is the most watched league across the world. It’s where the spotlight is. The reason you see world class players go to Spain more often is because the two best teams in the world are Spanish teams, but it’s not because they want to play in La Liga.
By rvy Go To PostI think most professional footballers would rather play in the EPL rather than la liga (unless you're going for barca/real)Must be why La Liga has dominated European competitions for a while and how Real Madrid was out of the title race by November.
La Liga offers a higher quality of footy overall, but EPL offers insane amounts of money in any club.

No doubt the PL has a lot of foreign players. But when newly promoted clubs are offering wages better than even EL and CL clubs in some countries then it is a no brainer IMO. Players know that if they say about wanting to play in the PL then there is a good chance they can go and get good wages, or use that to negotiate better wages at their club.
TBF, we are both making pretty huge assumptions about the mindsets of player lol.

And excitement.
Is anyone really arguing that the PL isn't the most watchable league in the world? You'd be fighting an uphill battle.
La Liga is a two-horse race, and the Italy and German leagues are one-horse races. At least 4 - 6 teams have a chance at winning the title in the PL each year. That's why it's the most watchable league, even if the quality isn't always as high as in the other Euro leagues.
