By Freewheelin Go To PostStarted and finished ‘Fleabag’ today. Fantastic stuff. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is fucking fearless :lol
Looking forward to seeing her in Solo tomorrow, I hear she’s the best thing in the film.
I need a second season dammit
By Kermit Go To PostI'd love to know why we're not interested. I mean, he's one of the best players in the world and while I get that he's not a Pep player, surely there would be no downside to signing him. We can afford it.Because they want someone like Isco, not Bale.
Legendary team vs serial winners tbh
In 20 years people will remember what Madrid have won, and everything about Pep's Barca
Madrid have a great team, great players, great achievements, but that Barca team is by far the best team I've seen in my years of watching football
The kind of team where I'd make sure to watch a routine home match against Valencia or someone in the first couple of years because they were playing football almost unrecognisable from anything I'd seen in English football.
Was a joy to watch Messi develop as well in that time.

By Xpike Go To Posthonestly theyre both kind of the same, Pep's Barca was complete domination but they failed at times if the opponent prepared properly, while Zidane's Real clanks their way to finish but you just always feel like they'll win at the end.
I personally don’t feel that this equates to a similar legacy. Real Madrid won three CLs in a row, but it’s three knockout tournaments. The fact that Liverpool and Juventus made it to two of those finals is proof enough that it’s not a simple matter of which team is better than the rest. If you get drawn against teams you match up well with, and your strongest rivals get unfavorable match ups, that’s an advantage you get out of pure luck.
Plus let’s not ignore the contentious way in which they won the CL. Bayern wilted with blunders every bit as bad as Karius’, the Juventus game was filled with drama and Ramos had to pull Salah’s shoulder out of its socket to get back into the final. Ramos attempted the same tackle on Dani Alves in the Juventus match, but their arms didn’t lock so Alves got away. Ramos got a yellow for it though, the ugly cunt.
It’s really nothing like the way Barcelona played. They made an absolute mockery of the people they went up against. The way teams all across Europe played football changed to account for their style and the influence it had.

Still think its a shame the way Pep's Barcelona and the Spain national team ended up. Even if it was the right thing to do, sacrificing expression for possession in such an extreme way led to a massive decrease in how fun they were to watch from the outside.
Watching Spain in the 2012 Euros (until the final) was painful.

getting some strong deja vu from these pics, feels like I've seen this happen recently a few times...
I think this Madrid team is as legendary as Pep's Barcelona. You can argue that winning the Champion's League is something to do with luck, but to be able to get to the final three times in a row, mind you Pep's team couldn't even get a back to back final, and win all three is something I doubt will be repeated in the near future. The CL is not what it was in the 60's and 70's. Nobody has been able to win it twice in a row in its current incarnation and yet they have done it, and added another on top for good measure. They will live long in the memory.
PS. its no coincidence that both teams have the two best players in the world in their squad. What a time to be alive indeed.

The most impressive thing about Guardiola for me in his decade in management is his track record of buying players.
Yes, he inherited a loaded, yet underachieving Barca squad. But year over year every summer he added more and more quality players that contributed in big ways to winning more silverware immediately. He spends but has very few busts.
08' binned Ronaldinho and bought Pique, Dani Alves and promoted Busquets to play with Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Yaya, Marquez, Eto'o, Henry and Messi. I mean, Jesus Christ. Wins the treble.
The next summer 09' he swaps Eto'o + huge money for Ibra which is probably the only real blip on his entire Barca career and otherwise stellar transfer record. Retains domestic trophies again but goes out to Mourinho and Etoo's Inter who eventually win the Champions League.
Next summer 10': Sells Henry to MLS. Sells Yaya to City. Bins Ibra, who despite averaging a goal every other start, Pep now has Messi coming off a 50 goal season, so why put up with Ibra's shit? Turns those sales into Mascherano and David Villa. Wins La Liga and CL and Messi scores another 50 goals.
2011: Signs Fabregas and Alexis Sanchez and promotes Thiago. Loses the league to Mourinho and CL to Chelsea but wins Copa again after two year skid. Messi scores 73 motherfucking goals. Pep leaves Barca having won 14 overall trophies in four years.
He bought players at Bayern that are still currently there winning and we know what he's brought in at City over the last two years.
Ibra and probably Gotze are two of the stand out players that probably didn't live up to expectations under Pep, but that's probably not his fault. Those two seem like headcases.

By GQman2121 Go To PostHe bought players at Bayern that are still currently there winning and we know what he's brought in at City over the last two years. The difference is that he didn't buy anyone there.
He surely had some involvement, especially pushing for Thiago and Bernard, but overall the director of sport is making those decisions.

By FlutterPuffs Go To PostIm looking at Pep's transfer records and it's not as pwrfectt as you make it out to be Kimo.I didn't say it was perfect. But his hits far out weigh the misses. And the misses as far as money is involved are minuscule by comparison.
By Pennywise Go To PostThe difference is that he didn't buy anyone there. That's fair. But when I say he bought, I mean he was on staff and at least consulted. He ultimately decides if the player is going to play, but sure, every club handles their acquisition process differently.

Wait, you saying that Juve were lucky to get to the CL final and are comparable to Liverpool? A team that smashed Barcelona 3-0 and got to two finals in three years, and were knocked out with literally the last kick off the game against Pep's Bayern and eventual winners RM(and even beat them 3-1 at their ground) in the other two Allegri campaigns.
Pep isn't a transfer master. I don't know how much say he has, but it is not very hard to have a good transfer record when you can just play fantasy football.
By bud Go To Postpenny, please give me a scouting report. The most important question is, is he better than Mustafi?
does he make clumsy mistakes? can he pass?

He can't pass. But he is a proper defender. Not a leader though.
Mustafi was class in Valencia. Don't know what turned him into shit. Sometimes players just don't gel well with each other e.g. Lampard Gerrard. Maybe that's the case for him.
Anyway. For 16M Sokratis is a bargain.

Whatever, everything for you Budley.
He's beloved for his tacklings, especially his sliding tacklings and last minute tacklings.
He can easily hold a ball and knows how to use his body, is rather focused in aerial duels.
As Zuhälter said, his passing isn't the biggest strength. You can expect him to deliever a decent pass to the sides and generally decent shorter passes, but don't expect him to play crucial balls, especially his longer balls are abysmal.
Also while every other player drives the most expensive car available, he's driving around in that :
By bud Go To Postthank you, penny.Well, he's a cheap option that got plenty of experience in CL footy.
another player that's almost thirty, though…
Better than getting another young player that got no experience at all, or spending your entire budget on one CB. He won't be the solution to your problems, but he's a solid player that will help ya to beef up the defender lineup.
I mean, there was an article about Dortmund still dreaming about De Ligt, who would cost above 50m.
Or Diallo from Mainz who's among those that are supposed to replace Sokratis and he's gonna cost beyond 25m, for someone who only played one season within the league those prices are hilarious.
By bud Go To Postthank you, penny. We've got plenty of young defenders already we need a bit of experience in there to help them develop.

Yeah.
With the current dolar price it's impossible to buy games at launch. Only the must must ones are buyable these days unfortunately.

Yeah it is getting smaller but we will have a decent update with content this week and with the start of FIA championships it might put the fire back on it again.
My fire is still burning because i'm being at a really good level, just joined a team and finished in the top 3 in both preseason championships that ended last week on the american region.
Puyol pls.
Real has a much better team than Barca for the last 3 years that it isn't funny. For a while the only one in Barca that kept performing is Messi, and if he wasn't in the team they wouldn't even be close to 1st.
If Messi and Ronaldo left their teams then Simeone would win the league every year. That is the truth.
