The droid was annoying as fuck. Comic relief gone into overdrive.
Also, I swear they tried to straight steal Rocket from Guardians.

If I had to guess I think Ronaldo knows there are people upstairs who are looking at him thinking "dudes getting old" and he wants to use the fans/media to make it clear that he is still THE man and they shouldn't think about touching him.

And he still is the man, so in that regard he would be right. Hell, he's arguably the best player this season.
Give him Neymar/Messi money and be done with it.
By Frustrated_me Go To PostAgreed.I dunno - it's good management to be thinking about moving on from Ronaldo. He is still quality, we saw that...but he's still 33 and it doesn't matter how well he looks after himself that age is showing. He couldn't take anybody on in that game yesterday...Jordan Henderson bodied him.

It's a delicate situation because he is a legend and he is still very good...but ploughing too much more money into him doesn't seem like a sensible thing to do either.
Thing is, is public opinion enough stock for Ronnie to bargain with? He doesn't want to leave, they know he doesn't want to leave, he has a prohibitively expensive release clause of €1B, he has a looong contract for his age (3 years left), and he's a consummate professional, so at the end of the day he's gonna perform until his body explodes once the seasons starts.
Madrid has thrown away legends like nothing several times. (Before you point out that was Mou, let us remember they did it to Del Bosque and Hierro first). Papa Flo has got him by the balls, and he's as ruthless as it gets.

Let me add another angle. I truly believe Ronaldo isn't declining, yes he's getting older and yes he can't make runs anymore but he keeps scoring them. Do you know a better penalty taker? Better header of the ball? Better person to trust inside the box if your team needed a goal? Etc. When he's not scoring he's able to lure defenders away from others, he's a constant threat, a menace. Managers from opposing teams have said so themselves "you can't stop Ronaldo, you need to stop the outlet to Ronaldo in order to diminish his game". One of the smartest players to this date. We keep focusing on his ability to score but sometimes overlook his play making abilities (mainly to provide assists). He's right when he says his record speaks for itself. If he wasn't suspended for the 5 games and if he wasn't constantly hitting the post/cross bar this past season where would his goal tally be now? Near 60 again? Would we even have been in the CL without him this year? How about last year? Or even the year before?
I don't think he'll stay until he's 41 like he's been saying he will but god knows the dude has another 3-4 years in him at this rate. The more we say he doesn't have it the more he finds it in him to prove everyone wrong, he sure fooled me in January 2015.
I watched a bit of the celebrations, the Bernabéu crowd is the most artificial thing known to man next to Etihad bandwagoners.
The tickets must be so expensive that it's mostly tourists and glory hounds

The celebration at the Bernabeu was free for season ticket holders and €10 for none season ticket holders where the €10 goes directly to charity.

so there's no actual reasoning behind the bernabéu crowd being artificial other than it's just how madrid supporters are
I guess this is what happens when your club is so successful
fuck me
I hope we're never that successful, I already want to bash people's heads in when they think going to the stadium is a social media event instead of supporting the team and ripping their asses if they suck

Watch some Barca games and notice how the front rows are usually packed with Asian tourists paying top dollar to season ticket holders who sell their tickets. Madrid has this problem too but less so, Barcelona is a more touristic destination.

Ronaldo/Neymar swap is the only possible way I can see either leave their respective clubs.
Hopefully the peppy underdogs like Barça, PSG, Juventus and Bayern can challenge Madrid next year.

Ronaldo will stay because ultimately he is about winning. I can’t see him going to PSG just for money. He knows nobody is gnna give a fuck what he does in France. Real Madrid are one of three clubs that are pretty much guaranteed a shot of winning the CL. And I don’t see him moving to Barca or Bayern.
Maybe Ronaldo is just thinking of retiring? Don't think his knee is getting any better even with the change of playstyle, and he's already won everything there is as a player*
*Except a World Cup, but he still won an Euro with this Portoguese squad.

If you win it next year then football is truly dead.
Last year when you beat us you were a top quality team fully deserving of winnng it.
This year you were pure piss, even in the final, and still won.
If nobody can beat RM next season then i don’t know what to say anout the state of football.
I would rather you spend 500 million this summer and dominate the CL then see a repeat of this year.
By n8 dogg Go To PostCharacters grew and developed and reacted in believable, logical and the only possible ways towards one another for this series of films to become anything more than hollow trading in nostalgia.
That's actually what I hated about it most, actually. When Luke physically dusted his shoulder after withstanding an attack unscathed, I gagged. You say cheesy, I say painful. You say Rogue One pandered to tradition, but I thought TLJ pandered to the lowest common denominator: purerile comic relief moments, overly-PC crowbarred relationships between side characters to hit diversity benchmarks, overblown action sequence with telegraphed endings and god-mode unkillable heroes which served purely to keep the audience guessing and not because it was organically weaved through the storyline. It was fucking Hollywood personified, and I hate that about modern film.
I genuinely think anyone who doesn’t like The Last Jedi but does like Rogue One has no idea what Star Wars is and should be about
I've never seen Rogue One and I only saw TLJ once, so one day I'll give it another go. I'm not a dedicated Star Wars fan, so maybe that's why I hated it.
Yeah Ronaldo is still an excellent player at 33 and would be worth having around, but is it financially expedient to retain the second most expensive player in the world to drag defenders out of position and win headers?

By Eternity Go To PostThat Pep Barcelona vs Zizou Madrid thread on Reset is too much.
The best indicator for me about greatness is league success. You can win a CL without winning a single game in 90 minutes. I actually think a PSV team in the 80s did pretty much that. Winning a league isn’t about who you draw in certain rounds or finding form at the right time. It is about being consistent from start to finish. One bad month is all it takes to take tou out of the running in the league. One league win in five years is not good enough.

I dont even get it. Peps barca had everyone's respect and admiration. Coaches copying tactics. Teams playing the same way. Domination from start to finish. Players begging to play for pep.
Peps team won la liga 3 times. Copa del rey twice. Champions league twice. All while playing much better and using a golden generation of players from the academy.
I dont even understand how anyone can debate it at all lol.
Zidane has played a very strong version of clank with a team of world class players that never give up, but nothing about the madrid team in the last few years screams "FIFA 2037 has to have this team as a classic team". And we all know thats all that matters.

Age, Injury History, Price, Wages, Style
honestly theyre both kind of the same, Pep's Barca was complete domination but they failed at times if the opponent prepared properly, while Zidane's Real clanks their way to finish but you just always feel like they'll win at the end.
