Ronaldo blowing up in the Spanish press. You did it m8, you went from invisible in the final to the spotlight again. Enjoy your new contract.
No wonder Bale wants out.

New contract is in order.
By Frustrated_me Go To PostSalah can still win it if he drags Egypt to the semis or something in the WC.He might not even feature in the world cup due to his injury.

One would figure Ronaldo should be near or on par with Messi's salary considering what he's achieved to do with Madrid. Give him the money and be done with it.
Ronaldo single handedly carried us into the later stages of the CL.
Finished writing my exams for this summer. Based on how the two quizzes have gone, some of my students are going to struggle.
By domino Go To PostSalah lost any slim chance of the BDO today unless he wins the WC.Messi blew a 4-1 lead. Barca has failed him.
Ronaldo about to be the 6 gawd
By Eternity Go To PostHe is a master PR machine. He needs his name in the headlines so people do not forget his importance to Madrid.Oh, I don't blame him. But it really does suck out the air in the room sometimes when even in this historic triumph, Bale scoring one of the best goals in CL history, etc, it's still all about Ronaldo (and his money). Then again, the Spanish press loves that so...
New contract is in order.
Ronaldo was very peripheral in the game. I thought our back 4 played really well. Wijnaldum as well. Henderson didn’t really sparkle but for did his job well enough. But man that attack just went to absolute shit once Salah went off. Mané didn’t do Salah’s job well enough and Lallana didn’t do enough period but to be fair that’s not his normal job and it certainly wasn’t what our team needed in this game. Firmino was awful, but I think it’s because he didn’t have players to play off. Can didn’t even have a chance before we gifted them the 3-1.

As for the Balloon, Messi should get it in my opinion. Nobody has come close to reaching his level of performance this season, he is literally carrying an entire team on his back.
But narratives win awards not just performances, once the PR machine goes into overdrive nobody competes with Real Madrid.
By Eternity Go To PostRonaldo should be earning more if your info is correct.I think the WC will dictate who will win, both players carried their team to their respective titles this season. Both of them had insane seasons, as per usual.

Messi has a better chance considering Argentina have a better chance to advance than Portugal.

Still bummed about the result, the first 30 mins were so promising. The lack of depth and a proper keeper killed Pool's chances. Fet bad the Pool players, Milner was so visibly gassed.
Jury will still be out on Zidane's coaching until post Madrid. They have no visible tactics and their performances rely on individual talent.
I still give it to Klopp and his team, nobody would have though of Robertson in a CL final, TTA played well, the lad definitely has a bright future. The rest pf the squad played decent, defense was solid, only downside was Firmino, was really hoping he'd score the second equalizer.
Anyways, congrats to Cunt Madrid.
Argentina are not that good. And depending on the draw both teams could go far.
Messi has been consistently amazing this season, Ronaldo has cost Madrid even a sniff at the La Liga title. Even you yourself have to admit that Barcelona depend on Messi more than Madrid does on Ronaldo, let alone bringing in squad depth to the equation.
In my humble opinion, as an individual award it should go to the best individual performer not the player who was part of the most successful team.
P.S. In this scenario you could even debate as to what amounts to a more successful season as both teams ended up with silverware.

Agreed.
At least it makes the WC that much more interesting, seeing how there is an award on the line that isn't the World Cup itself.
If Brazil win it and Neymar shows up game in/out does Neymar win it? Gotta be nah for me.

Think the lack of invincibles season hurt Messi a little. (for a game he didn't even play lol).
Argentina are a mess and I don't see them doing so well in the WC. Carrying that team to another final against the likes of Brazil, Spain, Germany is gonna be pretty damn hard.

As for the invincible season thing, he wasn't even there to have an impact. So I am not sure how much value I would place on it, they lost once in the league and even that is quite an achievement.

Almost entirely depends on the world cup.
The first half of next season(August until end of 2018) wont matter, just like every year.

By Eternity Go To PostI am assuming that Salah will recover, and his Balloon chances are pretty slim already but a good world cup for Egypt might be enough if the other two contenders do zilch.Lol. Egypt has zero chance at doing anything notable and his club team had no success this season — zero trophies and 4th place 25 points behind the league leader. It will be Ronaldo or Messi unless Brazil, Germany or Belgium win the WC at which point one of those teams could have a player do it.

It will be Ronaldo or Messi unless Brazil, Germany or Belgium win the WC at which point one of those teams could have a player do it.I am not saying Egypt are waltzing into the semi final or anything, just pointing out that international tournaments like club tournaments can sometimes come down to large doses of fortune in both the opposition you face and what happens in any given match. Will egypt struggle to make it out of the group, sure.
But previous tournaments have taught us that even teams like Spain, Italy or Portugal can fall or proceed based on factors that they themselves would have a tough time explaining. I believe that anything can happen, it is why I watch.

Would United fans accept Sandro+Costa for Pogba+Martial.
I can’t see Pogba coming back to Juve even if he wasn’t it unless it is in a trade. I don’t want Costa to leave but if he does then better get Martial in return.

You ask too much, Shanks m9. Sandro for Darmian is a fair trade. ;P
I'd be really sad if Poggers left. Heck, I'm sad it feels like he is wasting his time with us already.

Romagnoli to Juve?
It is gonna be a complete shit show at Milan this summer if they are excluded drom the EL.
Elliot should just take control as quickly as possible and sell the club too someone who actually has a bit of money. Otherwise they are gonna lose everyone this summer.
I would take Romagnoli and Kessie at Arsenal or Juve.
