Pochettino will earn £8.5 million-a-year. Deserved salary bump. Fantastic manager, I hope he succeeds even further.

I'd love him but it's not as much of a priority now Fred is done. Put the money elsewhere. You know where.

Bale on his worst day is still better than Willian

By Bungie Go To PostEd Malyon was saying Lazio want £80 million for that Serbian bloke and United not going to pay ifIf United are serious about challenging City - for the title and elsewhere - they need to just cut the check. Fred is a great addition for our midfield but he alone isn’t enough.
You could definitely look elsewhere in the market for a cheaper alternative than SMS, though.
But we need someone like him. Desperately.
£80 million in today’s market...
I don't believe for a minute we will get Isco. I honestly don't think we need him either. It feels like it would be sort of a bizarre decision by him because he'd be in the same situation as at Madrid -- not guaranteed to play every game.

Surely you need a high performing David Silva replacement, unless Bernardo is that.

By Laboured Go To PostSurely you need a high performing David Silva replacement, unless Bernardo is that. That has certainly been my assumption of his future role since we signed him. Presumably if we sign Mahrez (more of a traditional winger/forward) it will also allow Bernardo to play in place of Silva more often next season as well. Silva still has a few years left in the tank though so even though Pep has said he'll play a little less next year, he's still going to play plenty. Gundogan has been his deputy regularly already as well and he's going to have a few less opportunities as well if Jorginho is signed (more of a Fernandinho replacement, but there's obviously only so many CM positions to go around).
Don't get me wrong, I love him as a player and he would be insane in a Pep team (watching him with Silva for the national team is pure joy) but it just seems like there's a lot of competition here in any scenario and Isco would be in the same boat of not being a guaranteed starter like he probably deserves and certainly wants to be.

Italy doesn't even like selecting players outside the penisula.
How many of the biggest nations in Europe have EVER selected a player outside of Europe to play at a major tournament.
Missed that chance at the final

Mundo Deportivo... lmao.
Random passing by thoughts:
- Bale is a top 10 player when fit, probably can also be argued that he's a top 5 player when fit and in form (as he is right now)
- Mundo Deportivo is as bad as Sport, Isco literally yesterday came out and said "Papers lie, I'm happy and want to stay at Madrid" lol
- Imagine thinking the Argentina NT is "poor" I mean they have world class players, I'll name a few: Aguero, Dybala, Messi, Higuin, Armani (who my co-worker tells me is one of the hottest goaltender in the game right now), Otamendi (whose had a crazy good year with City), Di Maria and so on. I mean on paper they're stacked as fuck. Ohh, they also have a darling favourite Sampoli, remember him?
